I want to share an experience with you to ensure you never have the same experience as I do!!! I adopted two lovely kittens and took them to St. Clair Animal Hospital in Fairview Heights, IL for their initial checkup because it was free when you adopt from a humane society and they had conjunctivitis so I needed medication, so I thought everything was in check. I gave Dr. Stanley my paper work that showed all of their booster shots, that were up to date, and the feline leukemia test showing negative. My paperwork stated that booster shots should be done at the humane society and at no cost to me. The office wanted me to schedule a check up two weeks later, which is completely normal when you bring in a sick kitten, and I asked if there would be any cost for this past Friday and she said no! I brought them in and she gave them another set of boosters, which they just had their 3rd set of boosters a week prior. She tested them for feline leukemia again, which was unnecessary since they had just been tested for it and it came back negative. And charged me $108 for it. At the time I didn't know what the office had done and what the kittens had already had done prior to this visit and they knew that I didn't know that. After paying $108 the humane society contacted me and I explained what the office charged me for and they explained that all of that had been done and I in fact did NOT need any of that done and I shouldn't have paid $108. They are also removing St. Clair's from their vet referral list. After contacting the vet's office and explaining all of this to them, they refused to refund my money and hadn't given me a receipt in the first place to show what I paid for. They then changed their story and told me they didn't test them for feline leukemia, and just gave them a vaccine. I called her out on it and said, "Then why did you tell me to call back later that day to find out the results of feline leukemia test results?" After that she had nothing else to say to me and no solid answers. She began stumbling over her words and couldn't supply any solid information and had no answers for my questions. I had $108 charged to me for things that did not need to be done. I can only imagine how many people have had this done to them!Read Less

Our dog was there over a long weekend and seemed to have been kept safe. I was very disappointed however in the information received once we picked him up. When we asked if he got any exercise, the response was, ""we usually take the dogs for a walk around the property"" which didn't tell me anything about his exercise. We gave a bag of dogfood with the measurements needed for each meal (my husband is pretty specific about the food our dog eats). When we picked him up his bag was half full. Either they didn't feed him enough or fed him other food. They were also supposed to clip his nails. They forgot - so after a long weekend we had to wait for them to do it when we picked him up. My husband brought him home only to find bl@@d all over my husband's truck. We took him back to the hospital and they were very unconcerned about it and handed him some paper towels. After all the tricks we know to stop the bleeding, it still had not stopped after about 5 hours. We had a friend take a look that is a vet assistant and she was appalled - his nails were very jagged and cut so close she was surprised only one was bleeding. We will not be taking him there in the future. Read Less
