General Info
Geneseo Veterinary Service is a mixed animal practice that provides for a wide range of needs both for pets and livestock. Our fully equipped clinic can handle all of your pet's medical and surgical needs, and ambulatory farm service is provided for our larger patients. Started in 1972 as a satellite clinic for Cambridge Veterinary Service, GVS was purchased on June 1, 2013 by Dr. Grant Venema when Dr. Roger Pray retired. Dr. Venema had worked as a veterinarian for several years in the area before taking over ownership of GVS, and looks forward to continuing the tradition of veterinary service in Geneseo and the surrounding communities!

The care and loving compassion Dr. Grant Venema showed our son was unbelievable. My wife and I are over the road truck drivers and our 17 year old son Pepper started having seizures while we were in the area. We pulled up in front of his office and without question Dr Venema agreed to help him. Because of his age and severe diabetes we sadly had to let him go but Dr. Venema made the process as painless and compassionate as possible. We are very thankful that we were able to find such a caring Veterinarian to help us and our son.

My wife and I are over the road truck drivers and our 17 year old son Pepper started having seizures while we were in the area. We pulled up in front of his office and without question Dr Venema agreed to help him. Because of his age and severe diabetes we sadly had to let him go but Dr. Venema made the process as painless and compassionate as possible.
