My picture is of our 7 year old golden doodle, Brinkley. On Good Friday this year he suddenly became very ill. We monitored him thinking maybe he'd eaten something, but he was not improving. We finally decided to call the vet clinic that night. We knew they were closing soon, and it would take us a half hour to get there, but they said please bring him in.When we arrived, Brinkley had gone into shock. We were stunned speechless that our robust, joyful dog had gotten so sick so suddenly. Mel worked hard to comfort Brinkley, there were blankets warmed in a dryer, hot water bottles--he was given the most amazing, loving care. If loving, gentle care was enough to save him, he'd be with us today.Sadly, Brinkley died that night. His young body was full of cancer. We were given as much time as we needed with him. Dr Bunn laid with us on the floor with him as we talked about the impact Brinkley had on our lives, and when we gently let him go. There were many, many tears, and it was very difficult for us. It was Good Friday, and long past time for them to go home to their families, yet there was a quiet, respectful staff that allowed us the time to say good bye. We will never forget their compassion towards Brinkley and towards us. Now, we have Eugene, another golden doodle, a chocolate ball of fur. When he goes to the clinic it's all about Eugene, and his older sister doodle, Lily Belle. We love the staff from the receptionists to the vet techs to the doctors. They manage to be extremely professional in a loving and nurturing manner in very difficult circumstances and in very happy ones. We are blessed to have them care for our pets. Read Less
