Love Dr. Rick! He has always treated our animals with great care and genuine love. He actually came to our house to gently put our 14.5 year old standard poodle, Rosie, down when she couldn't walk anymore. She rested in the grass in the sunshine of our backyard and just went to sleep thanks to Rick and his care. We didn't want her to suffer anymore, and Rick understood. Doctors are great! I’ve rescued a dog, so I didn’t know nothing about his age and his health condition. Doctors patiently answered to all of my questions and luckily, my dog was fine. Marlow and Kirby love their vet Dr Bufton. The appointments are always quick and easy. My youngest cat is a bit of a wild card and I wasn't sure how he was going to react at his check-up last year. As soon as I put the carrier on the exam table, he was as clam as a cucumber. I told the vet this was unlike his normal manner. The secret, they sprayed pheromones on the scale and also had a plug-in in the room. Kirby was a good patient and let the vet do her exam with no problems. I had brought my former dog to the same vet for 13.5 years, larger practice, not always the best service. I recently adopted 2 puppies and was recommended this vet- and I'm so glad I was! Will only take my dogs to Forest View! Dr. Sholts is now treating my third Boxer. He has a great demeanor, is very knowledgeable, will not push you into anything unnecessary and truly cares for you and your pets. Dr. Bufton and the other office staff are just as great. I drive 40 minutes to continue taking my pets there after my move. I received ill-advice from a prior Vet while my eldest Boxer was nearing the end of his life before I switched vets and Dr. Sholts found the problem and helped him enjoy himself up until his final days and even made a donation in his honor after we had to put him to sleep. That is something that can never be forgotten or repaid! I highly recommend taking your animals here as you will not regret your decision. They are a long time Veterinarian Clinic in my boyfriend's family for good reason. Read Less

I live pretty far from this clinic (an hour to drive) but I only trust Dr. Sholts since he's a professional caring vet who doesn't try to overcharge like other places. I've been to Forest View Animal Hospital since I moved to Hoffman Est couple years ago and I'm always happy with them. Dr. Scholtz take care of my Maltese Toby,who is 12 years old and he is still very healthy and happy dog. Couple months ago, I adopted another dog a mix breed name Pomi and also they take care her really good. I am very happy and thankful that I found and know this place because I don't trust any other vet. Now, I'm married and moved to Chicago (close to the downtown I use to live 5 min away) I have to drive over an hour to come to Forest View but worth it and I WON'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE! I recently took my 2 cats to Forest View. The first was almost 2 years old and just need her yearly shots. For her, it was a simple in-and-out visit that took maybe 5 minutes to have the vet check her out and give her the shots. The second one, a kitten, needed her last round of boosters and a front declawing. While some places can be extremely judgmental about declawing (I've even been lectured about the alternatives for just mentioning it), Forest View was very professional and understanding. I dropped her off in the morning and was able to pick her up the next morning, with the vet making an extra effort to come in a little earlier to accommodate my schedule. The procedure went smoothly and the next day my little kitty was running around almost like nothing ever happened. I know it depends a lot on the cat, but it was by far the fastest recovery I've ever heard of. Overall, I was very impressed with my experience. Making an appointment only took a short phone call and the prices were the best around (one in the area was charging $500+ for just a front declawing, with an average of $200-300... my total came out to under $225 for the declawing and shots for both cats). You could tell the people really cared and I would definitely recommend this place to others. I know I'll be returning (though hopefully next year for shots and not any sooner!). Read Less
