If you care at all for your pet DO NOT USE THIS VET. The staff is incompetent, dishonest and deceitful. I truly believe they did something to my dog because it was only after being seen he shows signs of ptsd. To the point where he will just urinate all over himself and foam at the mouth just walking through the door. Sad because he used to love it here. I think the doctor we used to see is gone. All the staff seems new and they’re horrible! I called them and made arrangement...s to have my other dog boarded and was given explicit instructions by the staff as to what was needed. I took the day off work to travel an hour south to obtain all the necessary shots from a walk in clinic and pay double because AS USUAL they cannot get him in. Then, when it came time to drop him off they outright lied to me and said they cannot board him (THE DAY OF MY TRAVEL). It changes from he needs this shot to he needs to have this shot over 2 weeks prior. Keep in mind this was PREARRANGED with them, following their instruction to letter! I have put up with the attitudes of the staff and the constant “we’re busy, sorry no openings” for several years, took their word that they were not mean to my animals and that it’s “normal” for some animals to be so fearful, but this incident is the absolute last draw. Sure, this is not the fanciest vet office in the area. But it is also not the most expensive either. What you will find here is a very caring staff, that truly cares about the welfare of your pet's health. I have/had pets just about my whole life. I have been to many different vet offices in the area. But none have shown the true heart compassion for my pets as I have discovered here with Dr. Katsalis and staff. When I walk in, the staff immediately recognizes my dogs by name. Actually, even before I enter, as I am pulling into the parking lot. My dogs can't wait to get out of the SUV and enter the facility. I can tell this is a place they love to be. I have been in the back where the pets are housed many times. In fact, this is where I trust my pet family members to stay when I vacation. When I pick them up they look torn between remaining and going back home? That is when you know that your pets were cared for appropriately. I just hope they will always be here when I need them. I and my pets love this place.

Dr. Katsalis is not only a fantastic vet, but also one of the nicest human beings I have ever met. She genuinely cared about our dog who had a gastrostomy. She called us to check on him after hours and she met us at the clinic on a Sunday because she was genuinely concerned for his well being and wanted to make sure he was as comfortable as possible. She is far and away the best vet we've ever used. I would recommend her to any one. Also, her entire staff as a whole is fantastic. Very kind and caring. Their prices are very reasonable and they worked with us to get care credit for our little guy's surgery. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Katsalis and her staff, but we are incredibly grateful for all they did for us.

Called on 11/8/16 to ask if I could bring my dog in because he was limping. My dog has never been to this vet, so I was worried they might not be able to see him. The woman on the phone was very nice and told me I could bring him in, however, when I showed up, a very rude woman told me I could not come in without an appointment even after I told her I called and was told I could bring him in. She was awful and I will never bring my dog back there or recommend this vet to anyone. If I could give negative stars, I would.

I have been a client of Ridge Animal Clinic for over 15 years. I consider myself fortunate that I live so close to a veterinarian who is not only herself second to none, her entire staff and consulting doctors are too. We are in the home stretch of a particularly heinous diagnosis of my 16 month old cat Milo. I knew in my heart that it just could not be true. But I didnt know how I could help or understand what was happening to my baby. Dr Katsalis treated Milo with the utmost care and attention, her staff moved swiftly to arrange for a good hospital referral (Milo needed a blood transfusion due to anemia) and she consulted with me during his hospital stay, his discharge, his post hospital visits and helped keep me calm and after a two month journey, we are seeing progress! If you need any testament as to how the quality of their care is - I am sharing my recent facebook post to their page here. "Its really starting to sink in..how my entire life has gone from dark to bright because of an absent blue dot.I was grateful for your help and compassion with Abby for her entire life and last days. However, its because of your care that she lived 17.5 years! (you were her favorite)I was thankful that you were the one to send Bella over the bridge in her time of need to end her suffering. I am comforted by the way that you treat me in such a manner that makes me feel like I have something of value to you in the research I do.However, today, God has shown me that he does great things through you Dr K. The compassion the team has really showed on 5/31/16 when we had to make the decision to put her to rest. It was as if they too were losing a family member too. When the time is right for another pet I will be coming back here!

I usually see Dr Kerri bit not always. They answer questions. The Techs Are nice and careful with my digs5. Of you have an emergency, like a bee sting, they'll see you immediately. I haven't found one negative in all the years.

Been here and in my 25 years of owning dogs, I would have to say this clinic is in the bottom tier. I can't envision anyone driving to this substandard clinic from Chicago or from Lombard. In other words, some of these 5* reviews don't pass the sniff test. Here is my experience: I'm visiting my parents with my 10 yr old Briard. I forgot my Rimadyl at home, which is 4 hours away. I call this clinic as it was the only one in my mom's phone book. Long story short: they insisted that I pay for a $50 exam and then $2 per pill (they only carry the generic). Rimadyl is a dog-only drug; it can't be used by people. My vet faxed his prescription and the dog's most recent bloodwork and shot records. Staff were rude. In essence, I was forced to pay $60 for 5 generic pills because they are greedy. All they had to do was fill the script the vet had faxed over. My vet won an award last year for being voted the best clinic in a city of over 250,000.I know an excellent vet when I encounter one. There are no computers in the exam room and the door of the cabinet was hanging off its hinges in the room I went into. Rooms weren't the cleanest I've encountered. Waiting room is crowded and animals are too close to each other. This is not a state of the art facility. And to the person who kennels their dog at an animal hospital...the clinic, if reputable, would tell you that kenneling your dog/cat with sick animals would be disturbing to them. Where are the dogs walked or played with?Your pet deserves better than Ridge Animal Clinic.Sign me, a no-nonsense PhD from Wisconsin that loves her dog.

I was trying to find a good place to get my one year old Papillon spayed. I saw this place had good reviews so I decided to take her there. Since it is close to me, I went in to make the appointment. The staff is very friendly and the whole process went great. The staff and doctor explained everything to me and answered all my questions, I was able to trust them. The doctor called me as soon as she was out of surgery. I would definitely recommend this place.

Hi all, I read the previous 6 reviews and decided to give it a try, I had been going to Hammond Pet Hospital but I just wasn't very impressed. I really liked this place, it was nice, clean, and the people were welcoming. I did see Dr. Katsalis as per the reconmendation of the other people and she truly was very thorough...I have a 12 year old kitty with kidney disease and I was sure there was something else going on...she didn't just write him off, she did all that she could and he is doing SO much better now. It was my first time visit however I just thought it was nessisary to say that thus far I agree with the other comments.

Dr. Katsalis is willing to spend time to talk about your pet. She does't rush you out like other doctors. She will sit and talk to you; one on one; to see what is best for your pet. So don't be discouraged if you have to sit in the waiting room a few more mins., she will be giving you the same great service. Ask her about grooming on Thurs. & Fri. She has an experienced groomer who has groomed my dog when no one else would and did a pretty good job!! (without sedating him!)

Sure, this is not the fanciest vet office in the area. But it is also not the most expensive either. What you will find here is a very caring staff, that truly cares about the welfare of your pet's health. I have/had pets just about my whole life. I have been to many different vet offices in the area. But none have shown the true heart compassion for my pets as I have discovered here with Dr. Katsalis and staff. When I walk in, the staff immediately recognizes my dogs by name. Actually, even before I enter, as I am pulling into the parking lot. My dogs can't wait to get out of the SUV and enter the facility. I can tell this is a place they love to be. I have been in the back where the pets are housed many times. In fact, this is where I trust my pet family members to stay when I vacation. When I pick them up they look torn between remaining and going back home? That is when you know that your pets were cared for appropriately. I just hope they will always be here when I need them. I and my pets love this place.

Dr. Katsalis is not only a fantastic vet, but also one of the nicest human beings I have ever met. She genuinely cared about our dog who had a gastrostomy. She called us to check on him after hours and she met us at the clinic on a Sunday because she was genuinely concerned for his well being and wanted to make sure he was as comfortable as possible. She is far and away the best vet we've ever used. I would recommend her to any one. Also, her entire staff as a whole is fantastic. Very kind and caring. Their prices are very reasonable and they worked with us to get care credit for our little guy's surgery. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Katsalis and her staff, but we are incredibly grateful for all they did for us.

Called on 11/8/16 to ask if I could bring my dog in because he was limping. My dog has never been to this vet, so I was worried they might not be able to see him. The woman on the phone was very nice and told me I could bring him in, however, when I showed up, a very rude woman told me I could not come in without an appointment even after I told her I called and was told I could bring him in. She was awful and I will never bring my dog back there or recommend this vet to anyone. If I could give negative stars, I would.

I have been a client of Ridge Animal Clinic for over 15 years. I consider myself fortunate that I live so close to a veterinarian who is not only herself second to none, her entire staff and consulting doctors are too. We are in the home stretch of a particularly heinous diagnosis of my 16 month old cat Milo. I knew in my heart that it just could not be true. But I didnt know how I could help or understand what was happening to my baby. Dr Katsalis treated Milo with the utmost care and attention, her staff moved swiftly to arrange for a good hospital referral (Milo needed a blood transfusion due to anemia) and she consulted with me during his hospital stay, his discharge, his post hospital visits and helped keep me calm and after a two month journey, we are seeing progress! If you need any testament as to how the quality of their care is - I am sharing my recent facebook post to their page here. "Its really starting to sink in..how my entire life has gone from dark to bright because of an absent blue dot.I was grateful for your help and compassion with Abby for her entire life and last days. However, its because of your care that she lived 17.5 years! (you were her favorite)I was thankful that you were the one to send Bella over the bridge in her time of need to end her suffering. I am comforted by the way that you treat me in such a manner that makes me feel like I have something of value to you in the research I do.However, today, God has shown me that he does great things through you Dr K. The team at Ridge Animal Clinic cared for our dog since we adopted her in 2001. She loved her trips there for boarding or the not so good stuff. The compassion the team has really showed on 5/31/16 when we had to make the decision to put her to rest. It was as if they too were losing a family member too. When the time is right for another pet I will be coming back here!

I usually see Dr Kerri bit not always. They answer questions. The Techs Are nice and careful with my digs5. Of you have an emergency, like a bee sting, they'll see you immediately. I haven't found one negative in all the years.

Been here and in my 25 years of owning dogs, I would have to say this clinic is in the bottom tier. I can't envision anyone driving to this substandard clinic from Chicago or from Lombard. In other words, some of these 5* reviews don't pass the sniff test. Here is my experience: I'm visiting my parents with my 10 yr old Briard. I forgot my Rimadyl at home, which is 4 hours away. I call this clinic as it was the only one in my mom's phone book. Long story short: they insisted that I pay for a $50 exam and then $2 per pill (they only carry the generic). Rimadyl is a dog-only drug; it can't be used by people. My vet faxed his prescription and the dog's most recent bloodwork and shot records. Staff were rude. In essence, I was forced to pay $60 for 5 generic pills because they are greedy. All they had to do was fill the script the vet had faxed over. My vet won an award last year for being voted the best clinic in a city of over 250,000.I know an excellent vet when I encounter one. There are no computers in the exam room and the door of the cabinet was hanging off its hinges in the room I went into. Rooms weren't the cleanest I've encountered. Waiting room is crowded and animals are too close to each other. This is not a state of the art facility. And to the person who kennels their dog at an animal hospital...the clinic, if reputable, would tell you that kenneling your dog/cat with sick animals would be disturbing to them. Where are the dogs walked or played with?Your pet deserves better than Ridge Animal Clinic.Sign me, a no-nonsense PhD from Wisconsin that loves her dog.

I was trying to find a good place to get my one year old Papillon spayed. I saw this place had good reviews so I decided to take her there. Since it is close to me, I went in to make the appointment. The staff is very friendly and the whole process went great. The staff and doctor explained everything to me and answered all my questions, I was able to trust them. The doctor called me as soon as she was out of surgery. I would definitely recommend this place.

The vet Dr. Kerri was very thorough and took her time with my dog making sure he was relaxed and not just running through the exam to the next patient. I will most definatly be back!

Hi all, I read the previous 6 reviews and decided to give it a try, I had been going to Hammond Pet Hospital but I just wasn't very impressed. I really liked this place, it was nice, clean, and the people were welcoming. I did see Dr. Katsalis as per the reconmendation of the other people and she truly was very thorough...I have a 12 year old kitty with kidney disease and I was sure there was something else going on...she didn't just write him off, she did all that she could and he is doing SO much better now. It was my first time visit however I just thought it was nessisary to say that thus far I agree with the other comments.

So don't be discouraged if you have to sit in the waiting room a few more mins., she will be giving you the same great service. Ask her about grooming on Thurs. & Fri. She has an experienced groomer who has groomed my dog when no one else would and did a pretty good job!! (without sedating him!)
