I love this veterinary hospital! The staff is so loving and patient with the animals (and their owners)!! They are thorough and take their time to answer all questions. They never make us feel rushed and no question is ever treated as if it is silly or a waste of their time. A few years ago, when my dog went in for a surgery and we found out she had terrible cancer, the surgeon even sent us a sympathy card with a beautiful, touching, personal note inside of it. My entire family has been going to Lombard Vet since before I was born. They have always gone above and beyond for our pets. You can tell how much they love what they do and how much they care about each animal that walks in the door. I live approximately half an hour away but the drive is worth it for the care my animals receive. Love this place the staff is warm welcoming and really cares about you and your pets they are also great about getting you in for an appointment and having options to see your records and appointment history. The only reason I don't give it a 5 is there is one vet there that I've had 2x now and she makes me feel like a bad pet parent and wants me to do anti anxiety meds for one of my dogs( she gets happy excited not stressed) and wants me to have 3 different dental procedures done on my cats right away( several thousand dollars that I can't do all at once and my cats are healthy and happy) and when i asked about steps I can take in the mean time like teeth brushing and dental treats she dismissed the ideas. Dr. Ludwig has always been a great doctor for my animals whether for yearly check-ups to difficult times with a loss of a beloved pet. I just adopted two dogs in August of 2014 and did not know where to go for their vet needs so read reviews of local places and most were very positive so I chose LVH and every since the start they were very professional and accommodating to working with my schedule and Dr Sutarek our vet now has a great relationship with my two dogs and me. I had an emergency with one of my dogs a few months ago and my vet was off that day but dr. Martin was the vet and she as well did an excellent job like the rest of the staff. Lombard Veterinary Hospital is more like a family to us than a place we take our pets. Last week, my parents and I had to make the toughest decision any pet owner has to do; decide when to say goodbye. We put our 15 year old Westie (Kelsie) down last Tuesday and I can not thank Drs. Cornell and Sutarik enough for their kindness, generosity, and support for Kelsie and our family. They took such good care of our dog in her final days and hours and have looked after my family with love and support. Over the past week, we received hand-written sympathy notes from both doctors and my family and I were beyond appreciative of this kindess. Thank you to the wonderful doctors, nurses, kennel workers, and techs who have taken such good care of all of our dogs for the past 13+ years. Beyond grateful to the wonderful staff Courtney, Dr. Cornell, Kurt, and Charlie to name a few for their quick actions and compassion that they have shown our Isabelle! We brought her in on a acute situation at 7am Thursday and right away she was seen, labs were drawn, and X-rays were taken to quickly diagnose her with Pyometra. She had the surgery same day and we were provide with updates constantly! We even got a chance to see her and spend time with her later in the evening since she had to spend a night at the hospital. Luckily for us and her quick recovery I was able to take her home today, Friday evening! I LOVE this vet practice. And I have experienced some amazing city vets. So it was hard to shift when I made the move to Lombard. And, I even moved further west from Lombard to Elgin...yet still drive over 35 miles to go see Dr. Martin and team. She is a Labrador guru. The entire team helped us through the dog flu crisis of Spring 2015, even working on Easter Sunday to care for two very sick dogs. They are smart, don't waste your time or money and have a good group of vets in the practice with hours seven days a week so easy to make an appt. Read Less
