I had my first appointment scheduled with this veterinarian for today with our cat and dog for vaccinations. But yesterday our inside/outside cat got snatched by a hawk. She got herself free but sustained 2 broken ribs and puncture wounds. I called the office and was told to bring her as soon as possible even though they were booked solid. The staff was amazing. Dr. Tammy Schmitt saw my Fawn on Wednesday night to have her nails clipped and to look at a small bump. Well there wasn't a bump like I thought which is good. but she noticed that Fawns fur was kinda thin at her tail. She suspected an anal problem and took care of it right away. Dr Schmidt has not told me I needed to do expensive testing or procedures. Any other vet we've seen with any of our fur babies did. Yesterday our Maddie was getting worse with her enlarged heart and CHF. I was at their door when they opened and one of the girls ushered me into a room so I could have some privacy with my little girl who had a rough 48 hours. The doctors and staff here are wonderful. They know our dog well and are always gentle and caring to both Madison and us. Thank you for not declawing cats! Any veterinarian who does not perform barbaric outdated unnecessary p3 toe amputations on cats is tops in my book. I take my cats and dogs to a veterinarian who does not declaw cats, even if I have to travel an extra 20 minutes, it is worth it, they don't cry and whine in the car anymore like they used to when we used our ex-vet. Animals are sentient beings, not property for humans to mutilate. No wonder they used to cry on the way to our ex-vet, they were wondering if any of their body parts were going to get amputated. Tammy made my Mr. Dennis Reynolds the 2nd a happy cat in no time. She even had a wonderful baby food suggestion that worked, well, it worked wonderfully; I used Gerber beef and beef gravy, the little freak sucks it up like a vampire. I am even able to mix the liquid anti biotic without him noticing. It's no fun forcing liquid into a cat much less a sick jerk cat.Read Less

My cat Boots is being treated there for diabetes. He is on insulin. Daily shoots. They have been so amazing with him. They have showed us how to maintain care for our cat. Showing us how to give him his shots and take his level reading. Not only Dr. Mary Bishop, but the assistants they have working with them. Very on hands. Just recently we had to bring my bosses dog in as an emergency visit. We called ahead to let them know we where coming. They had a room waiting and the Doctor was right in to check her out. This is one of the nicest animal hospitals I've been to. Large, homey, exam rooms with cushioned seats perfect for comforting and snuggling your furkid. Great staff! And Dr Tammy Schmitt.
