We have never been so shocked as we were last Friday....we brought our dog in for an exam cause she had swallowed something that made her vomit incessantly. We arrived before the hospital opened so the Vet could see her a.s.a.p. to assess her condition. We were greeted by a nasty older woman who sent us to Companion Animal hospital in Crystal Lake stating the VET in McHenry was booked solid and could not see us. We are seniors and the free exam would have helped us tremendously. Our dog did not need hospitalization, yet we were scooted along with absolutely no concern for our immediate situation. Who does that sort of stuff??????? Does the Vet even know what this lady did??? Turning us away like that???? We told her we would like to wait but she said NO. $552.00 later for an exam and x-ray and 2 meds in Companion......I will never understand why anyone would turn a dog away when she needs help and is standing in your office????? We would have waited until the Vet had some free time in between appts.....how insensitive. How thoughtless this woman was....Is this an indication of the staff you have in your office????? If this is the kind of employee you have in your office, you need to re-thnk you staff.....didn't you take some sort of Oath??

Really like this animal hospital. Had the guy doctor the first time and he is nice but just not the right fit for our dog or us. . So the second time we had Dr Mann and she's great!! Bubbly and handled our dog really well! Good pricing and they all seem to care. Only thing I don't like Is they need to Clean up their main office entrance more there was pee on. The scale left from another dog and on the floor they should be wiped down constantly the floors and just a little more happy and knowledgeable with the girls who check you out. It's always a really long process or they don't know something etc. And when a client makes an appointment with a specific doctor please makesure they get that doctor and don't have to wait over 25 min. Overall a good place though

Very pleased with Dr Brar and his vet Techs. I've made appointments for my two dogs and two cats and never had to wait more than five or ten minutes to see a doctor. The techs seem very friendly, caring and knowleable. Dr Brar is very competent and good with my pets. I've been to a lot of vets in the area and I either have to wait three hours to see a doctor, the staff is rude or the Doctors are just plain weird.

I've had nothing but positive experiences with Dr Brar and his staff. He is kind but firm when offering advice about the care of my dogs. He solved a mystery with one of my dog's painful back. The pain was coming from impacted anal glands not a back problem as suggested by an energency vet. My dog hasn't had back issues since. He offers fair pricing and even reduced price vaccinations.

Dr. Brar and his staff are wonderful!! I worked with him when I fostered for a rescue and switched all 4 of my dogs from another Vet in town because I was so impressed with them. He has taken great care of my dogs and I would recommend his practice to anyone looking for great service at reasonable prices. They even have 1/2 priced vaccines during the week. They get 5 stars from me!!!!

I brought my dog in on an Emergency basis, ready to say goodbye. Our reg vet was closed and I had rushed all the way there to find out they close 1 hour earlier on Tuesday. In a panic I called around and McHenry pet hospital was open. They took her right away and told me it was worth giving her one last shot ( we had already been through a thousand dollars and a month of supposed kidney failure treatments two other vets with no answers) Dr. B gave her fluids and a shot and diagnosed her with suspected Addisons after some blood work. She is feeling 80% better. Thank God the other vet was closed! we have a long road ahead but more time together :-) I think I will bring all of my other pets here in the future. Great Caring Vet.

Dr. Brar is amazing he is the cat whisperer. Normally at the vet my cat is sooo stressed. She laid down on the table and welcomed pets. He commented on how cute she was and told her he liked her smile when examining her teeth I recently moved to McHenry and I have found my vet! Can't recommend them enough.-Sarah Bosco

We have been there quite a bit in the last two months with our cats being ill. The vet Dr. Singh at McHenry Animal Hospital gets an A+. Not only was the visit free, he spent 30 minutes with the dog and knew her medical history from seeing her before at Save-A-Pet. Our dog is small and Dr. Singh had her on the exam table examining her for at least 10 minutes. Dr. Singh and the other vet went over her files from being at the shelter and talked to me about my dog's history and what to do to take care of her. Dr. Singh did not try to sell me on spending more money to take care of her except on cleaning her teeth. All these reasons and a great receptionist I'll drive the extra distance to bring my dog from now on.We adopted a female Maltese/Terrier 3 years old. She is a great dog and in good health. We are happy on Save-A-Pet's thorough file on dog's health and temper of the dog. The cost on getting our dog is not that bad considering they did the following: spayed, rabie shots, flea treatment, worm treatment, heartworm medicine, microchip in dog in case it is lost, and being taken into the vet regularly. We also received food, medicine, a leash, and a free vet visit.

BEWARE of going there when Dr Brar is not there. I unfortunately did and (I believe his name is Dr. Sing) came into the room, I had my dog scheduled for a spay within the week and she was there for the pre-exam. He came in and immidiately said "do I need to get a muzzle?" My dog is a great dane, who is timid around men and instead of trying to connect with my dog and understand she is afraid, he just stared at her. My friend who recommended me to this vet clinic did so because she has a Dane as well and Brar took his time and got her dog to accept him and be comfortable with him. He did not do ANYTHING to help me, he overpriced my spay, and I asked him to give his opinion on a rash she gets on her belly and he didn't even look at it. He said it might be allergies.... well, can I get some spray or medication to get rid of it?! Google helps me more than this man! what a worthless asshole. he was RUDE and disrespectful to me and my dog. Will never see him again, I then canceled my spay and am taking her to wonderlake. Just the fact that he didn't even know I was getting her spayed there in a few days worried me. Don't you have paper work? I do not trust him with my dog and his cold attitude was unbelievable.

Really like this animal hospital. Had the guy doctor the first time and he is nice but just not the right fit for our dog or us. . So the second time we had Dr Mann and she's great!! Bubbly and handled our dog really well! Good pricing and they all seem to care. Only thing I don't like Is they need to Clean up their main office entrance more there was pee on. The scale left from another dog and on the floor they should be wiped down constantly the floors and just a little more happy and knowledgeable with the girls who check you out. It's always a really long process or they don't know something etc. And when a client makes an appointment with a specific doctor please makesure they get that doctor and don't have to wait over 25 min. Overall a good place though

Very pleased with Dr Brar and his vet Techs. I've made appointments for my two dogs and two cats and never had to wait more than five or ten minutes to see a doctor. The techs seem very friendly, caring and knowleable. Dr Brar is very competent and good with my pets. I've been to a lot of vets in the area and I either have to wait three hours to see a doctor, the staff is rude or the Doctors are just plain weird.

The pain was coming from impacted anal glands not a back problem as suggested by an energency vet. My dog hasn't had back issues since. He offers fair pricing and even reduced price vaccinations.

I brought my dog in on an Emergency basis, ready to say goodbye. Our reg vet was closed and I had rushed all the way there to find out they close 1 hour earlier on Tuesday. In a panic I called around and McHenry pet hospital was open. They took her right away and told me it was worth giving her one last shot ( we had already been through a thousand dollars and a month of supposed kidney failure treatments two other vets with no answers) Dr. B gave her fluids and a shot and diagnosed her with suspected Addisons after some blood work. She is feeling 80% better. Thank God the other vet was closed! we have a long road ahead but more time together :-) I think I will bring all of my other pets here in the future. Great Caring Vet.

Dr. Brar is amazing he is the cat whisperer. Normally at the vet my cat is sooo stressed. She laid down on the table and welcomed pets. We have been there quite a bit in the last two months with our cats being ill. The vet Dr. Singh at McHenry Animal Hospital gets an A+. Not only was the visit free, he spent 30 minutes with the dog and knew her medical history from seeing her before at Save-A-Pet. Our dog is small and Dr. Singh had her on the exam table examining her for at least 10 minutes. Dr. Singh and the other vet went over her files from being at the shelter and talked to me about my dog's history and what to do to take care of her. Dr. Singh did not try to sell me on spending more money to take care of her except on cleaning her teeth. All these reasons and a great receptionist I'll drive the extra distance to bring my dog from now on.We adopted a female Maltese/Terrier 3 years old. She is a great dog and in good health. We are happy on Save-A-Pet's thorough file on dog's health and temper of the dog. The cost on getting our dog is not that bad considering they did the following: spayed, rabie shots, flea treatment, worm treatment, heartworm medicine, microchip in dog in case it is lost, and being taken into the vet regularly. We also received food, medicine, a leash, and a free vet visit.

BEWARE of going there when Dr Brar is not there. I unfortunately did and (I believe his name is Dr. Sing) came into the room, I had my dog scheduled for a spay within the week and she was there for the pre-exam. He came in and immidiately said "do I need to get a muzzle?" My dog is a great dane, who is timid around men and instead of trying to connect with my dog and understand she is afraid, he just stared at her. My friend who recommended me to this vet clinic did so because she has a Dane as well and Brar took his time and got her dog to accept him and be comfortable with him. He did not do ANYTHING to help me, he overpriced my spay, and I asked him to give his opinion on a rash she gets on her belly and he didn't even look at it. He said it might be allergies.... well, can I get some spray or medication to get rid of it?! Google helps me more than this man! what a worthless asshole. he was RUDE and disrespectful to me and my dog. Will never see him again, I then canceled my spay and am taking her to wonderlake. Just the fact that he didn't even know I was getting her spayed there in a few days worried me. Don't you have paper work? I do not trust him with my dog and his cold attitude was unbelievable.
