It is very close to my house, about 5 minutes away so that is one of the main reasons why I picked it for my 5 month old mini goldendoodle. I have been taking her there since March, when I got her for all of her necessary shots. She has also had to have 2 teeth pulled and treatment done for a dog bite. While I think it is very important to treat and catch any possible problems early, I am starting to feel like at every appointment, I am at a car dealership and just trying to be sold. I am starting to get a feeling that they are just about the money! Also, my decision to switch vets has been solidified based off of my puppy's appointment yesterday. My appointment lasted for 50 minutes, and I was only seen for about 10 minutes out of this 50. The rest was spent waiting around. During the visit, the vet noticed that she has formed a crossbite, which I understand is important to treat early. He told me that he would refer me to a pet dental specialist. However, he then stated that he wanted to take pictures to send to said specialist. I was confused because why would the specialist need pictures if I was going to see him in person? He stepped out of the room, and in walked 3 vet assistants. While I have had no problem with them before, I do now! They proceeded to put my puppy on the table, where they then tried to take pictures. This consisted of all three of them slamming her down so that she could lay on all fours, and they did this by completely forcing her bottom and legs down extremely aggressively, which is extremely bad for her hips! She is a sweet little puppy, not some huge mean dog, she wasn't acting aggressively at all, just reluctant to being held down like this. They then started to rake inside her mouth, and I noticed that they had very long nails so I'm surprised they didn't cut inside of her mouth. They also stretched her mouth open so far that they looked like they were going to break her jaw. They also squeezed her face and eyes so tightly that they started to get red and bloodshot and started rolling into the back of her head!! May I also note that they were all LAUGHING WHILE DOING THIS!!! Like it was a freaking joke! I drew the line after about 5 painful minutes of doing this when they were restraining her so tightly and painfully that she started to scream and cry. I said "OKAY CAN YOU STOP NOW!" They stopped and stared at me and mumbled to each other "okay it looks like we maybe have one good picture" and left the room, where I was left waiting for 20 minutes, trying to calm my poor puppy down. I am enraged about this treatment of my poor puppy! All of this for a freaking PICTURE when I am going to see the specialist anyway!?UPDATE:I was called today to be told by a different veterinary assistant that both her and Dr. Bishop believe that the way she was handled was "necessary". They both weren't even in the room at the time! I didn't get an apology or anything for the way that she was treated. She tried to minimize it and say "oh, she's just a puppy so they're gonna squirm a little, so they have to be held down a little bit". I'm not buying it. Very disappointed. Read Less
