If you love your pets please avoid this place!! It’s disheartening as an owner to think my dog deserved great care when she was brought to this clinic for ER services but instead received the opposite. It baffles me when a vet suspects an obstruction no blood work is performed at all, minimal monitoring as notated in the patient records, no pain medication offered at all as it’s extrmely painful, billed for services not rendered, and worst of all surgery without anesthesia and pain meds!!! DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR PET! I would give this place 0/5 stars if possible. My dog almost died because of their negligence. The staff doesn’t care and didn’t bother to even look at the blood work results. They only wanted to run tests to get more money and they didn’t check his glucose level which was 30, when it should have been around 200. They failed to diagnose or find a huge tumor that was pressing on his bladder and they claimed his need to drink water was psycho somatic. They should not have released him in the first place, since he was not well. Thankfully he was rushed to a different hospital Read Less

I've always had a great experience at Naperville Animal Hospital. My dog has had surgery here twice, and both times the doctors were excellent. During a consult, Dr. Harris was very informative and helpful, as was Dr. Mirabella pre-surgery. The pricing is also reasonable for the area. What I like most about this hospital is the range of care. You could find a cheaper clinic to go to, but if you have an emergency, you will still need to find a hospital (and end up paying for a second round of tests/exams). Naperville Animal Hospital does both routine check ups and complicated emergency surgeries, making them a convenient one stop shop. Read Less

We've been going to Naperville Animal Hospital for 11 years now and have always received great care. The staff is polite and efficient, and even though we don't always see the same doctor, each one has been caring and attentive. The waiting area is spacious enough to relax and keep animals apart (if necessary). Even without an appointment, we have been seen within 20-25 minutes, but they are great about getting appointments booked within a day or two of calling. Read Less

No work ethic; they treat pets and owners as fast food order. Vets are inexperienced, they have ni clue what they are doing. It doesn't matter if you have appointment wait time might be an hour. If you want to talk to a vet be prepared to wait one hour and you will get to meet one that knows 0 about anything. If your pet needs more than one visit, there in no chance that you'll get follow up by the same vet and each time you'll get different diagnose and feedback. My dog had first surgery there, they butchered him. In two weeks had to change clinic and have same surgery for the second time. After surgery I requested to meet with vet and he was asking me what do I think I should do. Had no clue on what to do or how to proceed. Place is awful, please don't go there if you love your pet. And I almost forgot to mention that they charged me double of normal price for butchering my dog. Read Less

I just called to say I'd be in a rush, and they said come in that the wait is short. I packed up my baby, toddler, and cat, drove all the way over, then saw it was absolutely packed. Upon waking in, customer service said it would be at least a 30 min wait. I said I just called. She somewhat rudely said, "we have walk ins" and left it at that. Why didn't she give me an appointment while on the phone? Their website accepts appointments. No sorry, no empathy when I'm carrying two babies AND a cat, and like I was at fault. Poor customer service. They just lost a customer. Read Less

Dr. Meiszberg and Dr. Zary recently treated my ill dog on a very difficult case and each time I came in they made my dog feel comfortable and tried everything necessary. I hate writing a review based off of the customer service and not the patient care but this place has brought both me and multiple family members to tears from feeling disrespected and frustrated when coming here. The wait time is ridiculous, although in some cases understandable IF someone would inform you that there would be a wait. Every time I go there I wait over an hour even when there’s no one there and the most recent time I decided to walk up and ask how much longer it would take and the worker had the audacity to say “I don’t know” with an attitude clearly trying to get rid of me. When I stood there staring she said “...I can find out if you want”. I almost sunk to the ground with how ridiculous that is. Yes. Please. If you have the ability to answer my question please do your job. Multiple people I've asked had the same experience. And when asking questions all you get is an excuse each and every time. "Oh the doctor was on the phone" "oh the doctor can look at one animal at a time" YES. Obviously. But for an hour and a half you're going to watch me sit here and not let me know what's going on? And then proceed to say they’re taking a phone call? It's rude and unprofessional. Not to mention that the lady that was weighing my cat proceeded to show him off to her coworkers as he's shaking in fear in her arms. Please work on the people you hire for the front desk. I've been coming here for years and the ladies in the front used to be fantastic. Not sure what happened within the last year. Read Less

Boy, I read some of the other reviews and I can hardly believe you guys are talking about the same place.I've had four dogs over 25 years and have used these this vet continually. I've never had any problems whatsoever and I've always been touched by how helpful they have been. For example, last Saturday my dog got loose when I wasn't home and was wandering around the neighborhood. Somebody picked her up at a busy intersection took her to their vet and had her scanned. They were told that there was no information registered with the micro chip number. Luckily for me I got my precious little dog back that same day. Then, I took her into Naperville Animal Hospital and had her scanned to see what was up with the micro chip because I had paid for that registration.Carrie Ann behind the counter was sooooo helpful. Not only did she scan my dog and tell me that they got the same results--no information on file. Then she scanned her again the next day so I could take a picture and send it in to PetLink to try to get this fixed. The third day she took a picture of the entire scanner so I could tell what brand and model it was and she emailed that to me-- I didn't even have to come in oh, she helped me over the phone this time. And she also give me a lot of detailed information about the message that she was getting when she called in to find out about the registration. All this was critical in getting the situation resolved. Turns out the problem was with the PetLink scanner which displayed the phone number for PetLink instead of Avid. I would never have known that without all the extra help she gave me. None of that cost me a dime. The following day I took my dog in for check up. I talked Dr. Tom who was great (as usual) and that didn't cost me anything either since my dog is on the monthly preventive plan.I love this vet and I would never go anywhere else. Never had a problem-- always had a very good experience.Hope that helps. Read Less

We have been going here for 10 years and yesterday was the hardest day for my family, we had to put our boxer down due to cancer. When we first arrived it was mid afternoon and explained why we were there. Thinking because of the circumstance we would of been able to get into a room faster, well we sure were wrong. We had to wait over an hr while my husband and I were crying in the lobby watching our dog get nervous being there. We then get a room and wait about another 20min, a Dr comes in and discusses the procedure. We had to wait for a receptionist to come in after that to take my payment that was another 15min. Then a vet tech comes into the room to take our dog out to put a line in and says she will be right back, about another 10min she pops in saying that my dog is being bad that they has to give him a light sensitive. Really what dog wants to be here let alone get poked and now ur telling me my dog is being bad right before we put him down. After that it felt like another 15min like they forgot about my dog and us in the room. Two people came in caring my dog because as the Dr and techs admitted they gave him a little bit to much seditive. My dog couldn't do anything he basically was gone, he was just laying there. My 15yr old son was there and upset him more watching them carry our dog in. As soon as I questioned why my dog was like that the two vet techs ran off, the Dr says we may have given him a little bit to much. I was furious, so the last 20 mins my dog had a horrible experience, you knock him out to basically death and thats how he leaves the world???? They placed him on the floor and we said our goodbyes and they excorted us out and left my dog on the floor. The experience of putting an animal down is a sad one to begin with but the actions and cold headedness the staff at Napervile Animal Hospital gave was unacceptable. I will never bring an animal here ever again and will tell all my family and friends not to as well. Read Less

We have been clients of Naperville Animal Hospital for 15 years and 2 dogs. We mostly use them for boarding services and would highly recommend them. I wouldn't trust my dog to anyone else. They take reservations so they are not overcrowded. Dogs are grouped depending on their size. Best of all, there is someone with the animals 24/7. I also feel good about the fact that if my fur baby needs to be checked out by a vet, one is always available. The dogs have plenty of time playing outside which is also important. Finally we love receiving messages with a photo from our little guy telling us he misses us but is having a lot of fun. They are the best. When we pull into the parking lot, our dog drags us to get inside. He can't wait!! That's all the information I need. Read Less

I have trusted them with my 2 cats since they were kittens. Even moving back to Glen Ellyn 5 years ago, I continue to make the drive out to Naperville for every checkup. I remember when I first got my oldest cat, it was a stray and I had nothing to prepare myself to be a cat owner. One of the vet techs came out with a carrier to my car and helped grab my scared kitten that was hiding underneath my car seat. He even let me keep the carrier since we didn't have one yet! I have never had a problem with them and the staff is friendly and helpful. Nice big lobby that looks clean with a beautiful skylight. I think all dogs stink so their oils get on the furniture and make it have a slight smell, but that would be my only complaint. They have a Kerig and magazines in their lobby which helps the time go by. They are always very busy, but I usually just go in as a walk-in so I can't complain! Read Less

We had been taking our beloved lab to Naperville for over 13 years. She had a lot of problems with allergies throughout her life and the vets were always very understanding and helpful when we were dealing with that, and all the skin infections and other problems that resulted from her severe allergies. As she got older, she had other problems, arthritis and colitis that the vets helped explain to us and treat. We also boarded her there several times when we went on vacation, and never had any problems. They also spayed her when she was a puppy, and no issues with that surgery either. We had to make the heartbreaking decision to put her down last week after she developed cancer a couple months ago. The staff and Dr. Oates were very sympathetic and supportive during this very difficult process. They gave me all the time I needed to spend with my little girl. I felt she received the best care she could have gotten from the time we adopted her at 2 months old until she passed away at almost 14 years old. I took one star off because when they are busy, it's a bit hectic and can result in a lot of waiting and confusion. Would recommend some kind of check in ahead of time process to lessen the wait, rather than just having to walk in and hope it's not too busy. I had also made an appointment for her to be put down and there was a huge line, which I was trying to avoid. Having to stand there around all these people in the main lobby with your dog on a leash about to be put down was very difficult. I think in this situation, there should be an option to come in privately and leave privately through a back door because I was very emotional. Very uncomfortable to stand there crying and having to tell the staff why you're there, amongst other pet owners with healthy animals. I also think the costs of exams and vaccinations may be a bit on the pricier side compared to other clinics. All in all, I was happy there and my dog loved all the staff...and they all treated her with care for all these years. If we ever adopt another dog, we will likely take him or her back to Naperville. Thank you for taking care of my baby girl at the beginning of her life all the way to the very end. Read Less

I have been taking my animals -cats and dogs to Naperville Animal Hospital for the past 14 years. I can't say enough about the outstanding care and the kindness of the staff. Dr. Tom is excellent and rendered wonderful care to one of my huskies. He spent a great deal of time consulting with other doctors to ensure his diagnosis and treatment was accurate. My dog had a rarely seen disease that he was able to diagnose and other conditions that complicated the situation. When it came time to put down my beloved dog, the kindness of him and his staff-Sue, Claire and others went above and beyond. My other husky loves to be boarded there and he receives so much love and attention, that I never worry about him while we are out of town. My other dogs and cats have received the same excellent care from other doctors and staff as well. The obvious love of animals is apparent with all who work there including the groomers and vet techs as well. If you truly love your pet, do not go to this animal hospital!!! You've been warned. The staff and doctors there will treat your pet like a business. They do not really care for the welfare of your pets, all they want is to make money. They will offer you services you don't need. They will do a "check up" without thoroughly understanding what's wrong with your pet. They want to get as many clients as they possibly can within the day (no appointment needed, you'll get who is available). We recently moved to Naperville that's why I have to change vets (big mistake!!!) We were assigned this incompetent pet "doctor" Elizabeth "cat killer" Winkler who did not truly care for my cat. Who knows what happened behind closed doors but my cat is gone now. She was not even ill, but this "doctor" said it's a tooth infection. They sedated her to find all's good - They didnt even do anything! But my cat was knocked out for good :( I could not believe it. She was just playing that morning. If I only stick to my old vet, I would probably still be holding my precious baby in my arms today. Do not go to this hospital if you want knowledgeable, competent vet for your pets. You'll be sorry. My FIRST visit there with my NEW PUPPY was not good. The vet was pretty good till I asked to have his nail trimmed. She cut them ALL THE WAY DOWN till he was a bloody mess! I freaked and picked him up, they were more concerned with cleaning the table and said they believe in SHORT NAILS, and put that stuff on that is supposed to stop the bleeding. My pup was only about 2 months old or so and fell off of my bed and injured his leg to the point that he could not walk. I have and HAD pet insurance and called there to have them see if my baby pup broke his leg. They told me I had to have the fee in FULL in CASH or they would not see my puppy. The pet store I bought him from had told me he had to go there to under warranty, that is how I got there name.Anywho... I had NO cash! BUT.... great insurance. They refused to see him and even would not have anyone call me back to talk to me.I kept calling for a couple of weeks with my pup NOT getting better when finally the girl said, " Well we do have an EMERGENCY VISIT and HE "CAN" BE SEEN IF YOU HAVE $32." Well, I jumped on that and could not believe they NEVER mentioned it before! I got my $32 together and my son and I took my puppy there. It was a zoo it was so busy. Finally a tech came out and took him and said she'd be back in about 15 mins, well a good 45 mins to 1 hour went my and no one would talk to us! Then a door came open and someone called my last name and said to come in. Once in there I finally got my puppy back but then waited another good 1/2 hour. When the vet came in he took the xrays and put them up to the light and said he "THOUGHT" my pup had some RARE GENETIC HIP DISEASE that had something to do with blood flow and he would be a cripple. My son took a look at the films and asked how he could see anything like that when the pups legs could not be laid properly to view what he said he was looking at. Then he said, well I just think it might be a possibility. He didn't see anything to make him believe the puppy had it for sure. I was a MESS!! It was a fiasco... he sputtered and stuttered jibberish! Then gave me pain pills and told me how to care for my puppys sprain. I got to the front desk to check out and the receptionist asked me for $200.... give or take a few bucks there, I can't remember what it was for sure. I reminded her that it took me weeks to even get in because I HAD NO MONEY but the emergency visit's $32! She GRABED the medication out of my hand and then LOUDLY told me to give her my puppy and she would board him till I got the bill paid if full! Again I freaked out, this time I got LOUD! I reminded her about the insurance and that I could have them pay them directly, she said NO! Told her I'd post date a check. Again, NO! Really? I felt like crying. When I got home, my neighbor asked how he was, and when I told her, she could not believe it! She gave me the money to go back and get the pain pills. I called to let them know my neighbor let me borrow the cash for the meds and I'd be in. They REFUSED to even give my puppy pain meds even though I was paying CASH for them!Ultimatly I turned them into the Humane Society of the USA!! I never got a bill ... but since then Ive asked for his records many many times and they won't release them! My puppy has bad knees cause he's big for his breed and the insurance won't pay for the surgeries. I could get a refund from the pet store but ......Naperville Animal Hospital will not release the records to me or even my vet! BEWARE of them..... the staff is evil and ugly. I feel like they took pleasure in being so hurtful! And I'm upset with myself for giving them a second chance after the nail incident! Read Less

The vets are very professional, however, prices for care appear to be astronomical for simple maintence care. Howver, the red headed vet is very attractive.

Read Less

My dog had a rarely seen disease that he was able to diagnose and other conditions that complicated the situation. When it came time to put down my beloved dog, the kindness of him and his staff-Sue, Claire and others went above and beyond. I have been going to this animal hospital for four years and was happy until now. When I went in to the hospital for a routine visit, they told me that I am not listed as the ownership of my animals. That the files have been switched to reflect a different person by mistake. First they told me that they cannot switch the files in the computer, only a manager can do it. I requested for a manager to call me on two seperate days, no call. I then called about medication and they told me that I would receive a call back. No call back. When I follow up, the techs there state that they have no idea....communication is terrible. I will be getting my records corrected and then going to a different vet. Read Less

I have going to NAH for 30 years. It has gone way down hill in the last 15 years. This is a dog mill of vets. Theyrush you in and out, have high prices, and give you basically the same meds each time, even though theydon't work, or work for a short period of time, but don'taddress the real problem. They do not think outside of box. There is also a lot of turnover. Many of the older vets have gone. If you have an older pet, and are use to seeing one vet that "knows" your dog, your out of luck in most cases. It is very beneficial for a vet to know yourpet's quirks and when something is wrong with 'your'pet.I have boarded my animals there until about 4 years ago, when I got one of my dogs back with caked feceson her rear and nails cut too short.Stay away from these people. There are many, manygreat vets in the area. Read Less

This is a great place to take your non-human children. The facility is clean, the people are friendly, the physicians are warm and friendly. The first visit is free. The facility offers boarding. No appts are taken taken, walk in only. The facility is open 24/7 and there is always a vet on call. I took my cat Cleo there for a severe bladder infection where she had to stay for a couple of days and she was so well taken care of that she was not traumatized at all by the visit. She came home happy and healthy. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Read Less
