I adopted a rescue dog about a year ago. I live in Lockport, and my in-laws recommended Carey Animal Clinic as it isn't too far from our home. They also take their 3 dogs there and have always been satisfied. My first visit was a quick and easy one. The dog was up to date on her shots, but just needed heart worm and flea/tick prevention. Everybody in the facility was very nice and friendly. I got to choose how many months worth of heart worm and flea and tick I wanted to get up front. They had a $50 mail in rebate if you bought a whole years worth, so I went ahead and did that. This month she was due for some annual shots and to check for heart worm. I called to make an appointment, and was able to get in the following Saturday. Again, the girls at the front desk were very nice. My dog was called in on time, and the assistant checked her temperature and had to draw blood to test for heart worm. My poor dog was so scared and shaking like a leaf. The girl was very gentle and patient. We then waited for the vet to come in and give the two shots. He was an older man, not sure on his name. He could see my dog was extremely scared, and he was so gentle and sweet with her. I've seen some vets (the place my parents go to with their dogs) that have no compassion, stick the dogs with the shots, and leave the room. This man was very friendly towards both me and the dog, and he answered all of my questions. My dog was given a clean bill of health and we were on our way out.Overall, I would absolutely recommend this vet. They are knowledgeable and every employee I've come across has been very friendly.
