Recently I had a very horrible experience when I took my dog to this clinic. I've been using the clinic for over 2 years but never really realized how much they overcharged for services poorly completed. My dog had a skin infection saw one of the vets that gave him a shot and sent us on our way. Most of the conversation during the visit was about why I need to purchase their products as they are much better then any other brand purchased at other stores. Three weeks later, I went back because the infection never went away but got a lot worse. At this time I was charged again for visit which I complained about since they didn't do their job right the first time...! I was told that I will be charged only 50% of the visit cost plus the treatment. Different vet took the dog back shaved his hair where the irritation was gave him the same shot and told me I'll be getting antibiotics for the dog to take. This visit cost me $160 plus $62 for the first one which was completely ineffective and pointless. I was charged $47.50 for 14 antibiotic pills (200 mg cefpodoxime)that after checking other places charge less plus they can be bought over the counter without prescription. (Penicillin for adult at the pharmacy is approx. $7.00). I guess the vet that was in charge that day tried to be "smart" and make up for the 50% discount on the visit fee by overcharging me for the antibiotic. This place is a scam! they are in business of making $$$ not helping animals. Please stay away and do your research before you go in!!!! They lost a client after 2 years of overcharging and scamming. I know I'm not the first or the last client this clinic treated this way. This place has s very poor business ethic as well as ladies up front in the reception lack proper customer service skills. Very disappointed ! Currently my dog has been seeing a different vet service (where the same pills cost $16.00 ) Also, the diagnosis has been much better as he needed allergy meds to further treat his condition. They would would not honor any other vets prices!! PricesAre higher there!!! When I asked if they are competitive in pricing she said let me go ask the Vet??? I felt very uncomfortable in there no customers in there. I hope they realize that's why mokena Anilal Hospital on wolf road was so busy worth the drive! I adopted a rescue dog about a year ago. I live in Lockport, and my in-laws recommended Carey Animal Clinic as it isn't too far from our home. They also take their 3 dogs there and have always been satisfied. My first visit was a quick and easy one. The dog was up to date on her shots, but just needed heart worm and flea/tick prevention. Everybody in the facility was very nice and friendly. I got to choose how many months worth of heart worm and flea and tick I wanted to get up front. They had a $50 mail in rebate if you bought a whole years worth, so I went ahead and did that.  This month she was due for some annual shots and to check for heart worm. I called to make an appointment, and was able to get in the following Saturday. Again, the girls at the front desk were very nice. My dog was called in on time, and the assistant checked her temperature and had to draw blood to test for heart worm. My poor dog was so scared and shaking like a leaf. The girl was very gentle and patient. We then waited for the vet to come in and give the two shots. He was an older man, not sure on his name. He could see my dog was extremely scared, and he was so gentle and sweet with her. I've seen some vets (the place my parents go to with their dogs) that have no compassion, stick the dogs with the shots, and leave the room. This man was very friendly towards both me and the dog, and he answered all of my questions. My dog was given a clean bill of health and we were on our way out.Overall, I would absolutely recommend this vet. They are knowledgeable and every employee I've come across has been very friendly. My dog, Floyd, had scratched his stitches out from a surgery he had at my downtown Vet this morning.  I work near New Lenox and my dog was with me.  I called Carey animal clinic to see if they could repair the open wound. They were very accommodating and took us in on a very busy day.  Dr. Carey stapled the wound, gave Floyd antibiotics and took time to explain everything to me.  I recommend Carey animal clinic very highly.  First class organization.  Thank you Dr.  Carey and staff. I have been bring my pets to Dr. Carey for almost a decade and absolutely love the services she and Dr. Goodpasture provide to my animals. She has always been extremely compassionate and attentive to my dogs and cats. She answers all of my questions and I have never felt rushed out of her office. Dr  Carey has taken care of Cobalt for ten years now.  Hes a chronically sick pet for most of those years. Dr. Carey has stayed late ,called me on weekends , has always been there for us.  Her staff is wonderful.  Can't say enough.  Prices are reasonable.Dr. Goodpasture also helps take care of my pets also.  Her listening skills are great and advice appreciated. She is very good .If she doesn't have the answer she will find it.  Dr. Carey is a great surgeon .  Both doctors are very compassionate for the parents and their pets. Read Less

Couldn't ask for better care from a better staff.  Took our DOG in thinking she might not survive her sudden illness.  They boarded her, observed her, ran tests & saved her life.  I expected an outrageous bill - but it was surprisingly affordable. Dr. Goodpasture saved my dog's life.My 5 year old Scottie was dying from an unknown and terrifying ailment, and Dr. Goodpasture didn't give up on her. She was having an Addisonian crisis (so scary, she was so very near death - there is nothing as heartwrenching as feeding your dog baby food from your fingertips, or checking to make sure they're still breathing every two hours) but her case was quite atypical and it took an agonizingly long time to diagnose. With her expert and unrelenting care, my dog turned 6 and now she's back to her old self! I know most doctors would have given up and told us to put her down. The best vet. I have two dogs, one of which has chronic allergies, chronic ear infections, and a sensitive stomach so he has to have vet visits often. All of the doctors and staff are always very kind and helpful. I know if I call and ask a question it will be answered by a knowledgeable person. I live 45 mins away and it is worth the drive. I trust this vet and so do all my family and friends. My mother uses this vet for her three dogs and my boyfriends family uses them for her two dogs. I had been taking my cats to Dr Carey for several years. She was good with my chronic renal failure cat. And good with the cd cat. She has blood pressure testing equipment and knows how to use it. (not as easy to take blood pressure on cats as it is on people) Even when my cats were sick they seemed to like her. I was always quite happy to go there even after I moved from the area. Recently one of my cats became very ill (thymoma, diagnosed at the emergency clinic) and I asked her to do a phone consult with a clinic in South Carolina that I had heard might have a different treatment for this serious illness. Speaking thru her receptionist she refused. She wasn't comfortable. I was unable to find out from the receptionist what she wasn't comfortable about.I'm very disappointed. I waited a week after I emailed her my request for this consult and heard nothing. I thought she was setting up the consult. I had to call the office and could only get thru to the receptionist to hear this refusal. I feel she should have emailed me immediately if she wouldn't do it. Read Less

My cat has been a patient of Dr. Carey's for 18 years. Even after I moved to Oak Forest, I continued to take my cat to her clinic. The staff and the doctors have consistently delivered exemplary care, earning my trust and continued support. After I witnessed the compassion Dr. Carey demonstrated when my other cat needed to be put down under painful and very sad circumstances, I will always trust that she has my pet's best interests in mind. Recently I was reading some reviews, most of which were negative gripes about money and waiting times. I strongly urge readers to keep an open mind when considering the care of their animals, and to always seek out what they believe to be the best. In my humble opinion, Dr. Carey and her clinic staff of vets, techs, assistants and office staff are all performing at such a high level because they truly care about our pets.
