Glencoe Animal Hospital is a full-service small animal hospital that has been caring for the pets of Chicago's Northshore since 1947. It is our promise to provide you with personal care, understanding,and compassion. Our hospital and staff will provide the highest standard of medical, surgical, and dental care for your pets. We want to get to know you and your pet so we can provide medical care and solutions that work best for you. We promise to always have the best interests of your pet at heart. Everyone needs to get away occasionally, but for those who have a pet with special needs it can be challenging to travel. It’s difficult leaving a pet with mobility issues, diabetes, kidney problems, or any other ailment requiring special attention in the hands of a caretaker who may lack the skill and experience to meet all of your pet’s needs. At Glencoe Animal Hospital, our Medical Boarding option means that our caring, compassionate, highly trained doctors, technicians and kennel staff will give your beloved pet the special care he or she needs while you’re away.
Our indoor, climate-controlled boarding areas are warm, clean and comfortable. Your pet will receive fresh food, water, and bedding throughout the day, as well as regular trips outside for dogs. Each medical boarding pet is checked throughout the day by our experienced veterinarians and technicians, who administer the proper medications and any special treatments at the right times, as well as monitoring his or her condition and progress. You can feel secure knowing that, in case of any abnormal symptoms or emergencies, as a full-service veterinary hospital we are able to quickly evaluate and take action on any health problems that occur.
Have a more easygoing pet? We also offer standard boarding in our climate-controlled kennels, with indoor/outdoor access for your healthy dog. Rest assured that these pets receive excellent care too, with clean, comfortable accommodations, fresh food and water, and warm bedding. They are even checked daily by our veterinarians or technicians as well, and in the event of any issues, will receive prompt professional care to help get them back to tip-top shape!

We came to Glencoe early this year (2017) for dental care for one of our two dogs. Our son had recommended the facility based on his experience there with his two dogs. The service was first rate and approximately 50% less than the price our animal hospital of >20 years had quoted us. (We literally reviewed the two estimates side-by-side, line by line, and were somewhat shocked by the difference, which was about $450!) Ordinarily we would not allow cost to determine a decision about our animals' care, but this was incomprehensible to us. We questioned our previous vet's staff and they offered a 10% discount.

Dr. Grogman is our favorite vet, she's been looking after our Tibetan Terrier for almost 13 years now. Her staff could not be nicer, it's like they take a happy pill, or perhaps it's being surrounded...
Dr. Grogman is our favorite vet, she's been looking after our Tibetan Terrier for almost 13 years now. Her staff could not be nicer, it's like they take a happy pill, or perhaps it's being surrounded by animals all day! She has nursed us through several ugly dog bites, both pre and post diabetes, all with positive results. We recently medical boarded our dog with them, such a relief to find a place that could both give him his injections and deal with his idiosyncrasies like his skittishness from his sight loss. Highly recommend for both vet services and medical boarding.

Can't say enough about how well run this practice is. From the girls at the front desk, Mary and Jenny, who could not be sweeter, to the great vet assistants (especially Jeff) to the vets themselves, we have had nothing but excellent and at times, exceptional care. Our pups have been patients for over 20 years and they have seen us through puppies and end of life care with such kindness and accessibility. They're the best.

I have been a client of Glencoe Animal Hospital for the past 24 years. Not once has the veterinarian/owner ever called me to thank me for my business. Never once have they offered any sort of reward or a thank you gift card. And, imagine my surprise, when after this last boarding of my pet, I received a bill and found out that boarding costs had increased by five dollars per day and the bath cost had also increase by five dollars. That is more than a 10% increase. Inflation is pretty much nonexistent these days, so there is no reason for it. I was not informed of this ahead of time. Not a happy camper right now. I am seriously considering using the app Rover for future boarding needs.

So much so that my dogs lobe coming here. I thought I would never say to someone my dogs like going to the vet. But they do because they know they will get treated with the best of care. Which is hard to find with so many doctors these days. If you want the best vet, with the best care, look no further.

We have been taking our dogs to Glencoe Animal Hospital for over 20 years. Whenever one of our dogs has had a problem, the people at the front desk have worked with us to find a time to bring him or her in to see a veterinarian. The doctors take the time to discuss and answer questions about their findings and recommendations. When tests are done, I always get a call from the treating veterinarian when the test results are in (usually the next business day). When I had to make the final decision about our beloved, almost 18 year old dog, Dr. Grogman was exceptional- caring and professional. I do not hesitate to highly recommend Glencoe Animal Hospital.

I can't say enough about the care we have received the last three weeks for Mugsy. After he fell down the stairs and his back legs were paralyzed, we didn't know if he would walk again or even be able to survive. Dr. Hannah and Dr Grogman went above and beyond the call of duty, especially Dr. Hannah, who gave us her phone number so we could reach her after hours. We've been with this office forever and can't say enough about their care and also how well the office is run and how much everyone makes you feel like your dog is their special favorite. They are the best!

I'm an exotic animal veterinarian so I don't work with the same type of equipment that dog/cat veterinarians use. I bring my dogs and cats to Glencoe for all their medical needs and procedures. This clinic is top notch and I can always count on the fact that my pets are getting the best care when they are being treated there.

I Just brought my dog home after a dental cleaning and removal of a benign (I hope, but we'll see what the biopsy results say) oral mass, and once again was thoroughly pleased with the care and treatment that was given to my dog. Glencoe Animal Hospital is one of the best vet clinics on the North Shore, and they have that reputation for a reason. Dr. Sara Grogman and her staff are top notch and have the highest standard of care compared to other veterinary clinics I have worked in. I won't trust just anyone with my pets, but am always comfortable and confident with the care they receive at Glencoe. If you are looking for a new vet, this one is highly recommended! :-)

I have been taking my 10 yr old chihuahua here for the last few years and always have received great service. Appts are easy to make on short notice and the vets all seem to genuinely care about my pet. We have seen several of the vets- Dr Grogman, Dr. Levin, and Dr. Hannah and each one is great and very thorough. My dog is like my furry child so I expect a vet to be knowledgable, thorough, and kind and all 3 of them have shown me that. Front desk staff is also always been very sweet as well. As far as cost goes, they seem on par with every other vets office I have ever been to but I also never understand when people complain about paying for health services for their pets. If its too costly, then dont own a pet. Your pet deserves good care and that does come with a price tag. Sorry to sound callous, but that drives me nuts.The last time we brought my dog in she ended up having a reaction to one of the vaccines (which has never happened before) and the very next morning (this happened late at night) Dr. Levin called me personally to check on her and we talked about what to do moving forward. If you are looking for a vet in the north shore this is as good as it gets!

Can't say enough about how well run this practice is. From the girls at the front desk, Mary and Jenny, who could not be sweeter, to the great vet assistants (especially Jeff) to the vets themselves, we have had nothing but excellent and at times, exceptional care. Our pups have been patients for over 20 years and they have seen us through puppies and end of life care with such kindness and accessibility. They're the best.

I have been a client of Glencoe Animal Hospital for the past 24 years. Not once has the veterinarian/owner ever called me to thank me for my business. Never once have they offered any sort of reward or a thank you gift card. And, imagine my surprise, when after this last boarding of my pet, I received a bill and found out that boarding costs had increased by five dollars per day and the bath cost had also increase by five dollars. That is more than a 10% increase. Inflation is pretty much nonexistent these days, so there is no reason for it. I was not informed of this ahead of time. Not a happy camper right now. I am seriously considering using the app Rover for future boarding needs.

The best animal hospital we've ever been to. The doctors saved my dogs tail when no other doctor thought it was possible. Everyone who works here is very friendly and welcoming. So much so that my dogs lobe coming here. I thought I would never say to someone my dogs like going to the vet. But they do because they know they will get treated with the best of care. Which is hard to find with so many doctors these days. If you want the best vet, with the best care, look no further.

We have been taking our dogs to Glencoe Animal Hospital for over 20 years. Whenever one of our dogs has had a problem, the people at the front desk have worked with us to find a time to bring him or her in to see a veterinarian. The doctors take the time to discuss and answer questions about their findings and recommendations. When tests are done, I always get a call from the treating veterinarian when the test results are in (usually the next business day). When I had to make the final decision about our beloved, almost 18 year old dog, Dr. Grogman was exceptional- caring and professional. I do not hesitate to highly recommend Glencoe Animal Hospital.

I can't say enough about the care we have received the last three weeks for Mugsy. After he fell down the stairs and his back legs were paralyzed, we didn't know if he would walk again or even be able to survive. Dr. Hannah and Dr Grogman went above and beyond the call of duty, especially Dr. Hannah, who gave us her phone number so we could reach her after hours. We've been with this office forever and can't say enough about their care and also how well the office is run and how much everyone makes you feel like your dog is their special favorite. They are the best!

Just brought my 6 year old dog home from getting a dental cleaning, dental radiographs and a mass removal at Glencoe. I'm an exotic animal veterinarian so I don't work with the same type of equipment that dog/cat veterinarians use. I bring my dogs and cats to Glencoe for all their medical needs and procedures. This clinic is top notch and I can always count on the fact that my pets are getting the best care when they are being treated there.

I Just brought my dog home after a dental cleaning and removal of a benign (I hope, but we'll see what the biopsy results say) oral mass, and once again was thoroughly pleased with the care and treatment that was given to my dog. Glencoe Animal Hospital is one of the best vet clinics on the North Shore, and they have that reputation for a reason. Dr. Sara Grogman and her staff are top notch and have the highest standard of care compared to other veterinary clinics I have worked in. I won't trust just anyone with my pets, but am always comfortable and confident with the care they receive at Glencoe. If you are looking for a new vet, this one is highly recommended! :-)

Even if they are booked they will fit your dog in are have you come in at the end of the day if you have a serious concern/issue with your pet.

I have been taking my 10 yr old chihuahua here for the last few years and always have received great service. Appts are easy to make on short notice and the vets all seem to genuinely care about my pet. We have seen several of the vets- Dr Grogman, Dr. Levin, and Dr. Hannah and each one is great and very thorough. My dog is like my furry child so I expect a vet to be knowledgable, thorough, and kind and all 3 of them have shown me that. Front desk staff is also always been very sweet as well. As far as cost goes, they seem on par with every other vets office I have ever been to but I also never understand when people complain about paying for health services for their pets. If its too costly, then dont own a pet. Your pet deserves good care and that does come with a price tag. Sorry to sound callous, but that drives me nuts.The last time we brought my dog in she ended up having a reaction to one of the vaccines (which has never happened before) and the very next morning (this happened late at night) Dr. Levin called me personally to check on her and we talked about what to do moving forward. If you are looking for a vet in the north shore this is as good as it gets!
