Our toy poodle, Coco, had a cough from a weak trachea ever since we brought her home from the shelter. Our regular vet couldn't offer much more information than that, but when it eventually got so bad that she was up all night coughing, we started looking for a respiratory specialist.
A quick google search led me to Carlson Animal Hospital, and I am so grateful. When you meet with Dr. Carlson, you can tell right away that he's not the type to rush through diagnosis and wing the treatment. He is methodical and knowledgeable and was able to find the least risky and most effective treatment for what turned out to be chronic bronchitis. Along the way, Dr. Carlson always made sure we understood everything that was going on with our pup's health, and we often spent a good amount of time in his office looking over x-rays and talking about options. We never felt rushed and always felt comfortable asking questions. Less than a year later, Coco was healthier than ever!
Recently, Coco came down with a very serious lung infection. Over the course of a week in the hospital, Coco was lucky to receive care from (I'm pretty sure) every single member of Carlson Animal Hospital's staff. Dr. Carlson was fantastic as always, but since he was out of town for some of the week, Dr. Richerson was our rock. She and the vets that we worked with that week offer the same detailed, mindful care that Dr. Carlson offers. Everyone (front desk, techs, vets) was amazing the entire time--helpful, patient, kind. Thanks to their vast knowledge and their hard work (and their love!), Coco is back to her old self!
Now for regular checkups, vaccines, dentals, and even boarding, we wouldn't go to any other animal hospital! The crew at Carlson is hands-down the best. Read Less
