When my middle-aged terrier became ill, I took him to MAH for coughing and gagging. "Dr." Banasure took an xray and diagnosed a possible area of inflammation in his trachea, for which he gave me anti-inflammatory med (and that was it). Illness continued, I could get no meds down him with any confidence (as the gagging and coughing continued) so I took him back. I had TOLD "Dr." Banasure that I didn't believe it was respiratory as his breathing wasn't labored and I noticed no distress with his breathing at all, actually. Asked for a different Dr., who immediately ran bloodwork that determined (unequivocally) that the cause was pancreatitis... actually SEVERE pancreatitis, because it hadn't been treated in a timely manner (the treatment prescribed by Banasure for the misdiagnosed respiratory complaint having had no effect on the pancreatitis, which, WHEN TREATED IMMEDIATELY is rarely fatal. It had progressed too far, however, and even though the (real) Doctor did everything she could, the poor little guy passed away within three days). I am furious, and know for a fact that "Dr." Banasure killed my dog.... I may continue going to MWA, but I will be very sure that he (Banasure) never gets within fifty feet of any animal of mine. Like anywhere with this large a staff, you have to look at the individual doctor as an individual, and make sure your dog sees ONLY that doctor... a few years ago I took two dogs here for heartworm routine checks, and WHILE I WAS IN THE ROOM WITH THEM the doctor (Coyne) went to stick the SAME DOG TWICE.... and would have effectively killed one of them (if the "stuck" dog was positive and they'd BOTH been treated, the treatment could have easily killed the negative dog... if the "stuck" dog was negative and the other positive, neither would have been treated and the positive dog would have succumbed.). So (from my experience) Banasure and Coyne are to be STRICTLY avoided.... Newberg I trust! Read Less
