I literally just got back with my Dino and I had to write this review. I can not express how great this place is. Dr. Norton is a newer doctor there and he did an ultrasound today for my baby and is not only is he incredibly knowledgeable but he also is very thorough. I feel confident in his analysis of my dog and feel very relieved with the results. Every time I go to this place, I feel welcomed and the love and compassion for your animal is like no other place I have ever taken my babies to. I also feel that they are the fairest price wise. The genuinely care for your animals well being and want them to have the best care. I can not express enough my trust and love for this place and everyone that works here. I have taken my 'puppy', to Prairie State Veterinary Clinic for the last 4 years. Recently, she became ill. The vets were quick to diagnose her problem and schedule emergency surgery. This meant scheduling several appointments to free up the vet for her surgery. They were all professional and compassionate during this very scary time. I cannot say enough good things about them. The experience at Prairie State Veterinary  Clinic was phenomenal!  From the welcome at the front desk to the meeting with Dr. Fleming, their was friendliness, care, concern and kindness. The dental evaluation on my cat Athena resulted in an impromptu office cleaning and advice that an anesthetic cleaning was not necessary.  Did I mention honesty and the desire to do the right thing for the client, not ordering unnecessary procedures and tests to just make money? The veterinarians and the crew here are wonderful. They treat you and your pet with the utmost respect and they are the friendliest people. My family brought our dog here for most of his life. The vets and crew enjoy their work, know their stuff, and love all the pets that walk through the door. So happy I found this place! I recently moved from the city (my cats' old vet was in the Gold Coast) so needless to say I was very scared to find a new good vet in the suburbs.  I took my cat in for a routine annual exam (we saw Dr. Tassone) and everyone was so sweet and caring, and for some reason the office just has a comforting vibe to it.  I took my cat back yesterday for his first dental cleaning and the girls took such good care of him, even covered his carrier with a blanket so he would feel safe from all the dogs that were also there.  They also called today to check on him!  Their prices are very reasonable and they didn't push a bunch of labs or other tests that he didn't need.  I will agree with someone else that posted here that their website is definitely a little weird and has some odd non-relevant content that might have made me hesitate scheduling with them if it weren't for all the wonderful Yelp reviews. However I am very glad I went, my cats are like my children and I'm so grateful I found someone that I trust to take care of them! Read Less

I've been taking my dogs to Dr. Fleming for almost 20 years. He is a compassionate, no-nonesense kind of guy who doesn't try to push expensive tests or procedures on you. He lets you know what's available, then lets you pick the best option for your pet AND your budget. He's got a great network of specialists that he refers to if necessary. I've used a couple of them and they are excellent as well. Dr. Tassone joined the practice a couple of years ago. After seeing Dr. Fleming for so long, I'll admit that I was hesitant to let the young, new doc have a go at my pup. Turns out,  Dr. Tassone is awesome! She's gentle, patient, knowledgeable and really knows how to explain things and put your fears at ease. I have absolutely no problem taking my pup to her if Dr. Fleming isn't available. Everyone knows that the best docs are nothing without a great support staff. The ladies who work in this office are top-notch. There's always a pleasant voice on the phone when you call (thanks Paula, Katie & Kathy!), and the vet techs are intelligent, capable members of the care team (thanks Liz, Tracey & Dawn) who work WITH the docs and not just FOR them. The clinic is modern and spotless, and Dr. Fleming & Dr. Tassone work to bring high-quality veterinary care to all of their patients at a reasonable cost. You and your pet won't be disappointed here.
