We have been clients here since 2008. Our family has a lot of fur in different forms, cats, dogs, & a rat. EVERY single furry family member is treated as an individual and with the greatest love and care and compassion. When it was their time to cross the rainbow bridge, Dr. Jess and his staff go above and beyond to ensure every comfort for the furry family members to the peopley ones. We have seen our share of tragedy in the loss of our furry girl to an attack from another dog while on a walk, our furry baby girl made the ultimate sacrifice and protected her human sister, Dr. Jess and his staff made sure EVERY effort possible on this Earth was made to save her body and reached out to our daughter in her time of need as well. We were referred to Pekin Vet Clinic for their orthopedic services after our dog tore her ACL. Can't say enough about Dr. Jess! Hopefully nothing like this happens again, but Dr. Jess will be our go to guy again. The only issue we had was with one of the Techs...won't give her name. When we arrived for the initial consultation, my dog limping badly because of the injury, this Tech evidently thought my dog wasn't walking fast enough so she grabbed the leash and started pulling on it...I took the leash back. Then when I picked my dog up from one of the therapy sessions, she thrust the leash at me and said " she's soggy" and walked away not telling me how the therapy went or what I should work on at home. This gal is just rude. Seems to me she is in the wrong profession. She doesn't seem to be the "norm" for this practice; everyone else has been very friendly and helpful. If Dr. Jess hadn't come so highly recommended, my dog and I would have walked out when this Tech grabbed the leash the first day. Read Less

There is a veterinary clinic 5 minutes from our home, but we drive over an hour, round trip, to see Dr. Jess & staff. Dr. Jess gave us answers about our older dog's health that others vets couldn't seem to provide. After she passed our new puppy aquired Parvovirus, Dr. Jess and his staff saved her life, we are so grateful!! We trust the precious lives of our 'fur babies' to this caring, compassionate clinic. Last week I took my older dog to Pekin Vet Clinic to make the difficult decision to have him put to sleep. I was struggling with this decision, and the Veterinarian provided me with the necessary information to make it my choice, and supported my choice believing it was in my dog's best interest. All of the staff were incredibly compassionate and respectful. They listened to my good stories of my dog and I, and let me cry on their shoulder before I left. There is a LED candle at the front desk that they light with a sign that lets people know that when the candle is lit, it means someone is saying goodbye to their pet. It is very thoughtful. We've been taking our dog, Lola, to Pekin Vet Clinic for awhile now. Late last year she was diagnosed with cancer and last week we had to finally have her put to sleep. The staff at PVC was very kind and helpful and I can't say enough about Dr Walsh. She was outstanding. She answered questions over the phone as well as in the office. She was very sweet and supportive to Lola's "parents". In continuation yesterday we recieved a sympathy card from all the staff. We thought that was a very nice touch.
