I will start with the fact that they treated my dog quickly and they went over everything with me before they went through with anything. What really blew me away was that the doctor called me the next day to follow up and then a nurse called later in the week just to make sure everything was still going good. Cannot recommend this place. While the staff is nice, their facilities are not. To do a simple weight measurement or even a shot, they have to take your pet into the back, the same room where they have the kennel AND the operating room in the same space. This puts far too much stress on the animals who are already uncomfortable in an unfamiliar place; I can't imagine leaving your pet overnight. I have never been to a vet like this and had I known, I wouldn't have even given a call. Apparently, you need to ask about facilities now when trying to find a new vet. They need to upgrade their facilities so that basic shots and weights can be performed in the rooms and that the kennels and surgery area are in separate locations. Read Less

Dr. Scott Demanes, there are not enough words or thank you's that Brian and I could possibly say to let you know what a wonderful, compassionate Doctor you are! On December 9th our magnificent boy "hunter" was put down due to several reasons. My dog, Dutch, was very sick when I brought him in. The doctors were very thorough in trying to find out what was wrong. The staff at the front desk were courteous, helpful and caring. He received excellent care. The doctors took the time to personally call me with results. They were also very compassionate when the end came for my dog. I can't thank Demanes Animal Hospital enough for diagnosing our sweet 2 year old dog with an extremely rare poisoning and find an effective treatment. She was extremely ill: whining, crying or howling constantly, not sleeping and not eating. Within 24 hours Dr. Demanes (Addison) was able to determine what the problem was and immediately started searching for a treatment. It was a complicated process because of the type of poisoning, but all the doctors and other staff were extremely helpful and caring. They really went above and beyond to cure our fur baby. I'm happy to report that Scrappy is back at 100% because of the professional care she received at Demanes Animal Hospital. Dr. Scott Demanes and his team are just fantastic. He took such good care of our salamander when he needed to have a life threatening tumor removed. Dr Scott Demanes has been our vet for cats and dogs for nearly 15 years. They treat all of our animals like their own. I trust them implicitly. My sweet Tailer Swift is alive today because of the care these doctorsand technicians provided her. I've worked in healthcare for 20 years and am now a nurse practitioner. The amount of money one spends is NEVER indicative of the outcome a patient will have. I LOVE the staff at Demanes Animal Hospital. We've had Demanes take care of 5 of our dogs over the past 20 years! The staff has been very caring, informative and extremely helpful. Your place of business administered two doses of a flu vaccine to my loving friend, Butters Wilson. She was a beautiful yellow lab mix. She was my grand daughter's best friend. My husband and I brought her to you, you did not help her! My daughter and husband brought her back to you again for help, you did not help her! I first started with Dr D over 20 years ago with my first rescued iguana then my second rescued iguana then on to a bearded dragon. I have always gotten first rate top notched care from Demanes Animal Hospital I recommend them to everyone I recently got two new beardies and will be taking them to Dr Demanes for their care !!! I took my dog there.  I really like the vets.  The techs though.. I don't know what's going on there.  I called and scheduled a 3 year rabies shot.  He wasn't given it.  He didn't get another shot he was supposed to get (the bill was already going w/ the receptionist) when she remembered on the way out that she never gave my dog the other vaccine he was supposed to get.  Somehow they "say" he got a 1 year but that's not what I asked for.. and w/ that blonde tech that had no idea what she was doing.. I really question if he even got that.  I'm really sad b/c I really liked the vet I usually see there.  But, if I can't trust them w/ giving meds/giving the right meds/vaccines that's a huge breach of trust.  If someone did that w/ human medicine they'd be looking at a lawsuit. I have not had the chance to meet Dr. Demanes but I did meet his son. Everyone has been super nice to me and my dog. My dog just recently had a tumor removed from her paw. Dr. Demanes' son called be to let me know the tumor was not cancer. He was so polite. I will never go anywhere else!! Read Less

Good vets, but overpriced on everything. Surgeries, visits, and shots are priced at 120% of what others charge. And if they tell you they're going to sell you IV fluid and needles to hydrate your animal at home, go online to Doctors Foster & Smith. You'll find it at 1/4th the price. Also, Good Shepherd Vet in Tremont does a once-every-3-months shot clinic that is about the third of their prices. That said, I think that Demanes, Siragusa (no longer there), Dieter and others are excellent vets. Just wish they could think of another way to pay for that new parking lot refinishing other than overcharging me. Read Less

I will NEVER return to Demanes! Against the recommendations of friends, I took my puggle to Demanes because they could get me in at the time that I needed when I first got my puppy. Little did I know...They have the worst bedside manner for pets and the worst people skills I have ever seen in a place that should be professional. I took my puppy in for an emergency (he got into a bottle of tylenol) and they not only made me feel guilty for not watching him every second, but they kept me in the waiting room for so long, that it was too late to pump his stomach, so he had to stay for 3 days to be catheterized. When I went into the office, I was the only one there and I was completely ignored for an hour before my puppy was seen, despite the fact that they told me it was an emergency to get him to the office. (Later, I had another vet tell me that was absolutely unnecessary.) When I picked him up, they refused to let me see him until I had paid my bill, during which time they took him outside and waited in the 50 degree, rainy weather until I was done. After the fact, they were extremely unfriendly and unaccomodating, not to mention completely disrespectful of my time. On top of everything, my phone died while I was in the waiting room and the receptionist sighed and rolled her eyes when I asked to use the office phone for a short, local call. This was after I paid over $1000 to them! Demanes is overpriced (though their facilities to not reflect it) and rude! I strongly recommend finding another vet if you love your animals!! Read Less
