Misleading. Nice facility and staff was friendly but that's where it ends. My dog has Addison's, an expensive disease to treat but easily managed over time. He needs regular bloodwork by checking electrolytes. Their website states clearly that they have an "In House" laboratory - no more waiting for labs. However, the doctor steered me to paying $77 for bloodwork to be checked at an outside lab in Chicago. Later, when I asked why he can't just have his electrolytes checked in house, the doctor told me it would be more expensive, over $100?? I'm not sure how this could be true. When I told him the University of Illinois Veterinary Hospital only charged $30 for a full blood panel with CBC/the works, he refused to believe me. In addition, I asked if I could get a script for his medicine and administer his monthly injection myself at home and was told no in the same breath that he said he has cat owners who give insulin at home. Illinois law requires your vet to allow you to request a script for ordering your own meds when the vet deems the meds medically necessary (which they clearly are in this case). When I mentioned this, he, again, brushed me off. They were also unwilling to give me their price of the meds upfront even though we knew exactly how much he would need to the mL. I would not recommend this place to anyone who would like to take a more active role in managing your own pets health by working with the doctor. They just want you to pay for the more expensive, unnecessary tests. It's not all about the cost but when you have a 3 year old dog that needs a $65 shot once a month for the rest of his life if given at the vet that would cost $29/mo when administered at home, they should be more willing to work with you and not just treat you as if you're their cash cow.

Dr. Chris Couri was our Bulldog, Kenzie's vet, and he called to check up on her and see how she was doing with her pain and I had to tell him about our difficult choice to put her down at my family farm. He called back today to ask how we were doing with the grieving process and wanted to let us know he was there if we need anything! He expressed how much he loved our dog and knew that we did too. It brought tears to my eyes and I highly recommend this clinic and especially him as a vet!!

Arguably highest level of compentence outside of a vet school! South facility off War Memorial is still open weekdays. (I have over 45 years experience breeding and showing both dogs and cats and have many vet clinics in various parts of the country!)

Feel like these may be just him being tired. called to see if I could talk to a vet for some advice since these are not necessarily emergencies. first call, they put me on hold for more than 18 minutes. No way I'll keep waiting. So I called the second time, receptionist mentioned all vets are busy... anyway, after a couple of other phone calls, I still won't be able to talk to a vet. They didn't offer to leave a message or try to call me back. I understand the vets are busy, and he/she will not be able to pick up a phone. And I could be a little sensitive since I worried about my puppy and just need a few words of reassurance. The receptionist ended the phone with "I don't know why you are upset." Well, here is why. I am upset because you treat people like paychecks. You don't bother to make sincere connections. If you are reading this and thinking about finding a place for your pet, you don't have to take my words for it. just call them and ask for a vet.

Thank you to everyone at Meadowbrook for taking such good care of Casper while we were gone on vacation. It's never easy leaving your pet and knowing how well cared for our golden doodle was made it much easier for me being away. Your doggie daycare was the perfect place for him to work on socializing, have play time and wear him out to sleep good at night! My only suggestion would be to add pictures during the day of your animals that are staying with you or are at doggie daycare, so us overly protective "pawrents" can check in on them once in a while :) Thanks again for your care of Casper!

We have brought several dogs to Meadowbrook even before the new partners and can't say enough about the service, helpfulness and expertise. The staff goes above and beyond and Dr. Wulfekuhle has worked with us with our most recent puppy, Addi, to come up with various remedies for a few issues she was facing. He discussed options and took the time to go over the necessary information so we made an educated decision, keeping cost in perspective, as we all know, it can add up quickly. Dr. Wulfekuhle has called us after hours to discuss matters and the staff has called after appointments to check on our animals to see how things were going. In addition, I brought my Girl Scout troop to visit and they were very caring and informative. They truly care about the care they provide, what is best for the animals and their caregivers as well as the community.

Meadowbrook used to be a 5 for our family, but have dropped below the middle line due to recent experiences. Our experiences have to do with the grooming side of things and also the staff's sense of urgency in communication. Let me start with the positives:The veterinarians and most of the staff are exceptionally friendly. They're knowledgeable and empathetic.The facility is clean and has a good feel when you walk in.Bad: picked dog up from grooming and has tons of stray hairs, was charged to pay $40 for tiny dog grooming before I saw her to give approval, called to find out the status of the dog and was on hold for 15 minutes. Additionally, if you use the grooming services, you have to drop your dog off between 7-9am. The dog won't be done before 3pm...why? Who knows. That's a long day for a dog. We have decided to go somewhere else entirely after today...I hope they review their customer service practices.

Very satisfied with the service I received at Meadowbrook. I recently moved to Peoria with my senior dog who is starting to have health issues and needed to find a new Vet. When he got sick, I tried another clinic first and wasn't very impressed (the demeanor of the staff, professionalism and office environment left a lot to be desired.). When the sickness persisted, I decided to try Meadowbrook because of all the great reviews. They were able to get my dog in the same day I called. The staff there really is top notch. My dog received a thorough check up and the doctor spent ample time with me making sure I understood what what was going on with him. And of course my dog received lots of love and treats! Happy to say we've found our new vet!

I take my dog and my cat to meadowbrook and I love it! When my dog was 3 months old we thought she had ingested something and dr G performed emergency surgery and it turned out my dogs intestines were closing in on each other and dr G saved her life!! My pup is now 10 months and she still sees Dr G for everything! She just had to see dr G recently and she absolutely loves her dr which makes it easier for me and her :) I'm so glad to have dr's like that at this clinic to make the process great.

Meadowbrook Veterinary Clinic practices good medicine. Not only are all the veterinarians and vet techs amazing at their jobs, but they do it with passion and care. Dr.G is great, my dog, Chasqui, absolutely loves her. She will take the time to talk with me and make sure I understand everything that is going on with him. I always leave happy and confident that my Chasqui is receiving the best care in the area. Finally, I've got to give the front desk staff a shout out for always being so friendly and helpful over the phone and in person!

This is my first time taking my cat (and my first pet) to the vet. I went to medowbrook on behalf of its great reviews on Yelp. The reviews couldn't have been more accurate. Not only is the staff very nice and the facility is clean, the doctor who worked with my cat was awesome. He was very knowledgeable and very willing to answer any and all of my questions, as I am a first time cat owner and know nothing. He truly cares about the health of my cat and gave me his genuine opinion on what the best steps were to care for my 13 year old adopted cat with 2nd degree kidney disease and a crimp leg. Highly recommended

This is where my husband was taking his animals before we even started dating. I've always taken mine to Good Shepherd. I finally got him to agree to switch. He says the staff is good with the animals I couldn't disagree more! They care about money and after the second time being in and them giving me an price quote I was tired of paying $50-$100 dollars more every time. In the past two month we had to pay $600 dollars for a cat that wasn't even due for shots. I would hate to see the bill adding shots next time.

We found Meadowbrook when we had a sick pet - they are close to the house and didn't want to make her travel too far. Unlike other clinics we had visited, they took the time to listen, spent time giving us options and cared for our pet like it was their own. We ended up losing her and the whole team was very compassionate. After that, Dr. Wulfekuhle quickly became our primary Veterinarian. He listens to our needs and doesn't push us for excess testing/labs like other clinics had. He and I have had regular phone conversations back-and-forth for weeks in the past regarding the status of another pet that became ill. It is nice to know that he cares and will take the time to reach out to check on him. Together we came to a nice regimen of food, steroids and probiotics.. and our little guy is doing better than ever. We could not be thankful enough to him and the rest of the staff!

I moved my pets over to Meadowbrook from Demanes... mostly because my old vet was overcharging me on everything, the front desk staff was snippy, and the vets there refused to allow me a prescription so that I could give my kidney-failing dog fluids every other day. This meant I had to bring my dog in every other day for a $35 fee. That's crazy. I've been helped by Dr. Wulfekuhle and Dr. Polley at Meadowbrook and they've been nothing but helpful, caring and knowledgeable. They always give me choices and information so that I don't feel as though I'm being held hostage for my wallet (as I did with Demanes). Dr. Wulfekuhle allows me prescriptions so that I can buy fluids, needles and IV sets online at 1/10th the price of what Demanes was charging me. This means that I have been able to keep my dog (who was given 9 months to live at Demanes) alive much longer. He is now 2 years past that deadline and doing well. The front desk staff at Meadowbrook is terrific, too. Although I haven't boarded my pets there, their facilities have been updated and the dogs have an outside yard to play in (while supervised). I recommend Meadowbrook to anyone with a pet.

It wasn't until I went here that I got a vet that actually acted like my pet and I were important. The vet, Dr. G. explained extremely important things to me about my dog's care that the other vet never mentioned. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone who is looking for a very good vet.

I cannot tell you just how wonderful this clinic truly is. I have never found a vet that I have loved so much (both Drs. Wulfekuhle and Polley). It is usually easy to get a last minute appointment. The girls at the front desk are friendly and knowledgeable. The clinic itself is clean and modern. The doctors are caring and spend a lot of time with you and your pet. My favorite part about this clinic is that they do not run it like a business. They really treat you as if you are family. This is where I take my beloved cat, Ruby. She hates it here, but that's no surprise. I have had to board here on a couple occasions when I've gone out of town for a while and she does okay.The staff is very understanding that my cat is difficult, and does everything they can to make her visits a little easier. The only issue I have is that I have taken her here since 2006 and they just now tell me she can get 3 year shots instead of 1 year shots, thus saving a lot of headaches. Oh well.

Misleading. Nice facility and staff was friendly but that's where it ends. My dog has Addison's, an expensive disease to treat but easily managed over time. He needs regular bloodwork by checking electrolytes. Their website states clearly that they have an "In House" laboratory - no more waiting for labs. However, the doctor steered me to paying $77 for bloodwork to be checked at an outside lab in Chicago. Later, when I asked why he can't just have his electrolytes checked in house, the doctor told me it would be more expensive, over $100?? I'm not sure how this could be true. When I told him the University of Illinois Veterinary Hospital only charged $30 for a full blood panel with CBC/the works, he refused to believe me. In addition, I asked if I could get a script for his medicine and administer his monthly injection myself at home and was told no in the same breath that he said he has cat owners who give insulin at home. Illinois law requires your vet to allow you to request a script for ordering your own meds when the vet deems the meds medically necessary (which they clearly are in this case). When I mentioned this, he, again, brushed me off. They were also unwilling to give me their price of the meds upfront even though we knew exactly how much he would need to the mL. I would not recommend this place to anyone who would like to take a more active role in managing your own pets health by working with the doctor. They just want you to pay for the more expensive, unnecessary tests. It's not all about the cost but when you have a 3 year old dog that needs a $65 shot once a month for the rest of his life if given at the vet that would cost $29/mo when administered at home, they should be more willing to work with you and not just treat you as if you're their cash cow.

Dr. Chris Couri was our Bulldog, Kenzie's vet, and he called to check up on her and see how she was doing with her pain and I had to tell him about our difficult choice to put her down at my family farm. He called back today to ask how we were doing with the grieving process and wanted to let us know he was there if we need anything! He expressed how much he loved our dog and knew that we did too. It brought tears to my eyes and I highly recommend this clinic and especially him as a vet!!

Arguably highest level of compentence outside of a vet school! South facility off War Memorial is still open weekdays. (I have over 45 years experience breeding and showing both dogs and cats and have many vet clinics in various parts of the country!)

Do not recommend this place at all. My puppy showed some symptoms that I was concerned about, not eating, sleeping all the time. Feel like these may be just him being tired. called to see if I could talk to a vet for some advice since these are not necessarily emergencies. first call, they put me on hold for more than 18 minutes. No way I'll keep waiting. So I called the second time, receptionist mentioned all vets are busy... anyway, after a couple of other phone calls, I still won't be able to talk to a vet. They didn't offer to leave a message or try to call me back. I understand the vets are busy, and he/she will not be able to pick up a phone. And I could be a little sensitive since I worried about my puppy and just need a few words of reassurance. The receptionist ended the phone with "I don't know why you are upset." Well, here is why. I am upset because you treat people like paychecks. You don't bother to make sincere connections. If you are reading this and thinking about finding a place for your pet, you don't have to take my words for it. just call them and ask for a vet.

Thank you to everyone at Meadowbrook for taking such good care of Casper while we were gone on vacation. It's never easy leaving your pet and knowing how well cared for our golden doodle was made it much easier for me being away. Your doggie daycare was the perfect place for him to work on socializing, have play time and wear him out to sleep good at night! My only suggestion would be to add pictures during the day of your animals that are staying with you or are at doggie daycare, so us overly protective "pawrents" can check in on them once in a while :) Thanks again for your care of Casper!

We have brought several dogs to Meadowbrook even before the new partners and can't say enough about the service, helpfulness and expertise. The staff goes above and beyond and Dr. Wulfekuhle has worked with us with our most recent puppy, Addi, to come up with various remedies for a few issues she was facing. He discussed options and took the time to go over the necessary information so we made an educated decision, keeping cost in perspective, as we all know, it can add up quickly. Dr. Wulfekuhle has called us after hours to discuss matters and the staff has called after appointments to check on our animals to see how things were going. In addition, I brought my Girl Scout troop to visit and they were very caring and informative. They truly care about the care they provide, what is best for the animals and their caregivers as well as the community.

Meadowbrook used to be a 5 for our family, but have dropped below the middle line due to recent experiences. Our experiences have to do with the grooming side of things and also the staff's sense of urgency in communication. Let me start with the positives:The veterinarians and most of the staff are exceptionally friendly. They're knowledgeable and empathetic.The facility is clean and has a good feel when you walk in.Bad: picked dog up from grooming and has tons of stray hairs, was charged to pay $40 for tiny dog grooming before I saw her to give approval, called to find out the status of the dog and was on hold for 15 minutes. Additionally, if you use the grooming services, you have to drop your dog off between 7-9am. The dog won't be done before 3pm...why? Who knows. That's a long day for a dog. We have decided to go somewhere else entirely after today...I hope they review their customer service practices.

Very satisfied with the service I received at Meadowbrook. I recently moved to Peoria with my senior dog who is starting to have health issues and needed to find a new Vet. When he got sick, I tried another clinic first and wasn't very impressed (the demeanor of the staff, professionalism and office environment left a lot to be desired.). When the sickness persisted, I decided to try Meadowbrook because of all the great reviews. They were able to get my dog in the same day I called. The staff there really is top notch. My dog received a thorough check up and the doctor spent ample time with me making sure I understood what what was going on with him. And of course my dog received lots of love and treats! Happy to say we've found our new vet!

I take my dog and my cat to meadowbrook and I love it! When my dog was 3 months old we thought she had ingested something and dr G performed emergency surgery and it turned out my dogs intestines were closing in on each other and dr G saved her life!! My pup is now 10 months and she still sees Dr G for everything! She just had to see dr G recently and she absolutely loves her dr which makes it easier for me and her :) I'm so glad to have dr's like that at this clinic to make the process great.

Dr.G is great, my dog, Chasqui, absolutely loves her. She will take the time to talk with me and make sure I understand everything that is going on with him. I always leave happy and confident that my Chasqui is receiving the best care in the area. This is my first time taking my cat (and my first pet) to the vet. I went to medowbrook on behalf of its great reviews on Yelp. The reviews couldn't have been more accurate. Not only is the staff very nice and the facility is clean, the doctor who worked with my cat was awesome. He was very knowledgeable and very willing to answer any and all of my questions, as I am a first time cat owner and know nothing. He truly cares about the health of my cat and gave me his genuine opinion on what the best steps were to care for my 13 year old adopted cat with 2nd degree kidney disease and a crimp leg. Highly recommended

This is where my husband was taking his animals before we even started dating. I've always taken mine to Good Shepherd. I finally got him to agree to switch. He says the staff is good with the animals I couldn't disagree more! They care about money and after the second time being in and them giving me an price quote I was tired of paying $50-$100 dollars more every time. In the past two month we had to pay $600 dollars for a cat that wasn't even due for shots. I would hate to see the bill adding shots next time.

We found Meadowbrook when we had a sick pet - they are close to the house and didn't want to make her travel too far. Unlike other clinics we had visited, they took the time to listen, spent time giving us options and cared for our pet like it was their own. We ended up losing her and the whole team was very compassionate. After that, Dr. Wulfekuhle quickly became our primary Veterinarian. He listens to our needs and doesn't push us for excess testing/labs like other clinics had. He and I have had regular phone conversations back-and-forth for weeks in the past regarding the status of another pet that became ill. It is nice to know that he cares and will take the time to reach out to check on him. Together we came to a nice regimen of food, steroids and probiotics.. and our little guy is doing better than ever. We could not be thankful enough to him and the rest of the staff!

I moved my pets over to Meadowbrook from Demanes... mostly because my old vet was overcharging me on everything, the front desk staff was snippy, and the vets there refused to allow me a prescription so that I could give my kidney-failing dog fluids every other day. This meant I had to bring my dog in every other day for a $35 fee. That's crazy. I've been helped by Dr. Wulfekuhle and Dr. Polley at Meadowbrook and they've been nothing but helpful, caring and knowledgeable. They always give me choices and information so that I don't feel as though I'm being held hostage for my wallet (as I did with Demanes). Dr. Wulfekuhle allows me prescriptions so that I can buy fluids, needles and IV sets online at 1/10th the price of what Demanes was charging me. This means that I have been able to keep my dog (who was given 9 months to live at Demanes) alive much longer. He is now 2 years past that deadline and doing well. The front desk staff at Meadowbrook is terrific, too. Although I haven't boarded my pets there, their facilities have been updated and the dogs have an outside yard to play in (while supervised). I recommend Meadowbrook to anyone with a pet.

It wasn't until I went here that I got a vet that actually acted like my pet and I were important. I cannot tell you just how wonderful this clinic truly is. I have never found a vet that I have loved so much (both Drs. Wulfekuhle and Polley). It is usually easy to get a last minute appointment. The girls at the front desk are friendly and knowledgeable. The clinic itself is clean and modern. The doctors are caring and spend a lot of time with you and your pet. My favorite part about this clinic is that they do not run it like a business. They really treat you as if you are family. And the amount they charge for their services is beyond reasonable.Over a lifetime of having pets, I have never been so pleased with a clinic. I would recommend Meadowbrook to everyone and anyone!

This is where I take my beloved cat, Ruby. She hates it here, but that's no surprise. I have had to board here on a couple occasions when I've gone out of town for a while and she does okay.The staff is very understanding that my cat is difficult, and does everything they can to make her visits a little easier. The only issue I have is that I have taken her here since 2006 and they just now tell me she can get 3 year shots instead of 1 year shots, thus saving a lot of headaches. Oh well.
