Our beloved dog, Bob, sustained a severe injury to his front leg, requiring orthopedic surgery unavailable in Galesburg. Our wonderful vet clinic referred us to Whitney and arranged the surgery with them. We were devastated and scared, but that all started to change the moment we walked into Whitney. I literally cannot say enough good things about our experience. Every single person on the staff was not only kind and supportive, but they were informative, careful, and detailed in their discussions and explanations. It is evident that the staff love working there, and it's evident that Whitney hires smart, highly-trained staff, and gives them the authority to make decisions and to be involved intimately in all aspects of the pet's care. Dr. Hayes was absolutely amazing, and instilled so much confidence in us when she walked us through the surgery. We are just a day out from surgery, but we are thrilled with how well it went and the amazing attention and care that our dog has received. Further still, Whitney has clearly mastered communication with patients in a way I've never seen in another veterinary practice. Frequent calls and updates, including two calls from the doctor on the day of surgery helped alleviate our anxiety and made us feel like we were being kept in the loop as quickly and thoroughly as possible. We have only had a few days' experience with Whitney Veterinary Hospital, but I have never been so impressed with an animal hospital/clinic in my life. I have been using Dr. Roe as my vet for almost 5 years. When I first started taking my dog there, he was a senior and she took great care of him. I now have a 2 year-old dog who had her first visit at Whitney today and I have only the best things to say about this place. We made the hardest decision of our lives yesterday to have my sweet little Chinese Crested Roo to rest. We can't say enough about the staff and Dr. Mike her vet at Whitney's Vet clinic. Dr. Mike her vet couldn't have been more caring and direct in her care trying all possible avenues with being budget minded at the same time over the past month. We simply did all that we could and was possible and just couldn't heal her. This morning was extremely emotional and painful for all of us but their staff was absolutely wonderful., thoughtful and caring. I have been taking my girls ( I have 3 cats.) to Dr. Tracy Myers for 14 years. My girls are very important to me - they are family members in our home. Dr. Tracy and the staff are exceptional. They answer all my questions, fit me in when I have an emergency, and go above and beyond to make me and my girls comfortable at Whitney. Dr. Tracy knows how nervous I can get and always explains things and calls me the minute she finds out about tests, etc. I can't say enough about the service we receive. Words cannot express the gratitude my husband and I have for Dr Myers and the staff at Whitney. We had to let our cat Patches go on July 1, and the compassion that everyone has shown us during this extremely difficult time is beyond words. I got the opportunity to build a great relationship with several of the staff over the last couple of years during Patches journey with lymphoma, so their understanding and compassion, came as no surprise when we had to let her go. My heart has a huge hole now, and I miss Patches terribly, but thanks to this team, I had a wonderful 14 years with our family pet, our family member and one of my best friends. We LOVE Whitney's Veterinary Hospital!! Maggie typically sees Dr Meyers and we love her. She is always so wonderful with Maggie (& me). Keeping both of us calm. Dr Meyers just recently removed a cyst from Maggie's hind leg after it ruptured and she was great - calling with updates and taking wonderful care of my pup. She has seen her through a long diagnosis of Cushings and all that has come with that. She is great! We have also had wonderful care from all of the other vets, Dr Roe, Dr Hayes, & Dr Mike. (Most recently with a yucky infection and pancreatitis that Dr Mike & Dr Roe have been treating her for). All of the techs and the staff are all incredible! They are all so helpful, kind, and gentle! The staff at Whitney Veterinary Hospital are amazing! They cared for my Husky after he was hit by a semi. They knew what to do and made my husband and I feel comfortable in the decisions we had to make. They called every day to give us an update on his condition. They saved my fur baby's life! As I retired veterinary professional who worked in the Peoria area for 10 years I will not take my pets anywhere else. Ask them about the background and education that their staff must have to work there and ask them about their surgical practices and protocols and then ask around at other veterinary clinics and you'd be surprised. They are superior. They are also equipped and educated to perform specialty surgeries that some local practices attempt to perform or refer you to a specialty clinic up North to have done. Add to that excellent client communication, working with you within your means, excellent ethics and commitment, a wonderful bedside manner and a genuine heart for animals and they are far and away the best locally. Ask for Dr. Myers. There are some other good vets around town for sure, but none are like Whitney. Read Less

I have only positive, grateful things to say about this vet and especially about Dr. Nancy Hayes. Dr. Hayes is amazing - gentle with dogs who don't feel well and incredibly insightful about veterinary care. The entire staff is warm and knowledgable, and they made every single visit a positive one - even when scary, upsetting things were going on for my sweet puppy. I lived an hour away from the clinic and was 100% committed to making the drive to see Dr. Hayes no matter how many vets might have been closer - I would have driven from even farther away, if necessary!
