This is THE best animal hospital in my opinion and the only one I enjoy going to. Our pup is 3 going on 4 but we have been taking him here since he was 8 weeks old. My first and so far only visit here was unfortunately very sad. My dog was attacked by a wild animal at some point in the night. I brought her in immediately, and of course, I was close to being a basket case mess. The vet, the assistants, and all the workers were more than wonderful and understanding of the whole situation. I had to make the hard decision of putting her down, and it was only 8 am. They were very clear about my options, made some phone callls on my behalf (as I could hardly speak intelligibly) and were straight forward. Fast forward a week or so later, the vet sent me a condolences card. That was above and beyond. I can't recommend this place enough. Wonderful hospitality and compassion. Read Less

I had nothing but positive experiences over the years when i bring my pets here. The staff is friendly. The vet techs treated my doggies like they were their own. The veterinarians are very thorough and I feel comfortable with the advice they provide. The facilities seem very modern and the prices are fair. Horrible horrible horrible. Brought my dog in for an emergency and they pretty much showed me the door due to the fact that I wasn't a client. Thought you were in the business to help animals. I have never been so in shock of a business not wanting to help someone out. I'm in the animal vet field also so I know how it is to have something wrong with your beloved pet and get the help you need for them. Peotone Animal Hospital ROCKS when it comes to caring for your beloved pets. All the Doctors, Technicians and Staff there are the best. They are so knowledgeable, kind and caring. They treat you as family and your pets as if they were their own. They are always on time with your appointment, unless there has been an emergency. And as an animal lover, I can understand and appreciate that. Peotone Animal Hospital is not close to my home, in fact, it is in another County, but I go there because of everything mentioned above. great loving service. our dog had a stroke and collapsed and we brought her in an hour before the place officially opened, and they immediately started taking care of her. as more vets and vet techs got in for work they started to help as well. we couldn't be more grateful to them with there help or 13year old boxer is still wit us, there even helping with physical therapy, we love them! they were kind and companionate and called at least twice a day to update us on how she was improving. they truly went above and beyond with their service. Having trouble finding a decent vet? So were we! We have tried many vets with our fuzzy kids. Our one boy is an American Pit Bull Terrier and we've noticed a few things about vets: Some don't know how to approach a dog properly and some are extremely nervous about the breed. The staff here has never had a problem or stereotyped our boy. They have always approached both of our boys very gently and allowed them to get acclimated with them before beginning to examine them.My greatest selling point was them saving us from spending unnecessary money and potential long term health issues after a vet recommended an operation. We tried Peotone as a second opinion and their opinion has been so valuable as the "issue," hasn't been an issue at all. He's happy as a clam and so are we!There are not very many places with all around great staff: We've liked every vet, every vet tech and the receptionists. It's a laid back atmosphere (that's incredible, considering it's a vet!) All around, definitely 5 stars from our family! Read Less

I started taking my dog to Peotone back in 2001 when a friend of mine passed away and his dog came to live with me. He had always taken her there, and raved about the care. It didn't take me long to see why. The staff is friendly, helpful, and caring. They were good with my dog's care, and when it came time for me to put her down due to cancer, I think they cried as much as I did. I have two new dogs since then, and Peotone is the only vet I will use now. The staff and the doctors are so good with my dogs, and it's always like visiting family when I take them up for a visit. If you want a vet (and staff) who care for your pet the way you would, this is the place to go! Read Less
