Will not be returning to this vet after my experience today.
I brought my dog in for annual vaccines and a heartworm test. Dr Thomas took her in the back, "gave her the 3 vaccines and performed the heartworm test", and then sent me on my way. I clearly asked Dr Thomas how I would know the results for the heartworm test after he gave me minimal information upon returning my dog to me. He said it would be ready in a few minutes and sent me to pay my bill. I paid and looked through the papers. Asked the receptionist how I would get the heartworm result.. she seemed surprised and said it would be a few minutes (seems to be the standard line) and assumed I would leave. A few minutes later a tech ran out and said I need your dog back sorry. We NEVER did the heartworm test (that I just paid for). She brings her back and says I can leave. I ask for the results. She runs away again. She comes back and says "they're negative". I had to ask again for printed proof of the result. I do not understand how Dr Thomas forgot to draw the blood and neglected to recall the test was never done, even when I asked for the results right when he came back into the room. It was highly unprofessional and overpriced as well.
What if I never asked for the heartworm results? How do I know the vaccines were even given? I do not trust this place.

The vets are exceptional at RFAH, and I trust them completely. They are knowledgeable, accessible, communicative and truly compassionate. They genuinely understand our love for our pets. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and they make an effort to get to know the patients and the owners. I appreciate the convenient office hours.

My 16(!) year old dog & 14(!) year old cat have seen a lot of vets. These ones here are the best. The staff is the best. The ancient doggo walks half mile (& back) just to visit.

I'm so thankful I switched to this animal hospital after buying a home in River Forest. RF Animal Hospital puts the animal's health and well being first, ahead of their bank account, unlike the last Vet who took advantage of us financially for 10 years and didn't solve our dog's problem.

I've always had a great experience here. They are caring and gentle but also well equipped and thorough. I have only taken cats here but in my experience they're the best vet clinic in the area. They aren't the cheapest by any means, but I haven't found their prices unreasonable.

I was very nervous bringing my cat, Bender, in when he was not eating and lethargic. He rarely leaves the apt and I dreaded the ordeal. This animal hospital made the process extremely easy and low stress. I found them very caring and attentive. One thing I really liked about the doctor is she gave me options on treatment and was honest about cost, so I could scale to what I could afford, as opposed to simply laying out an expensive treatment plan and handing over an invoice.Contact with the hospital is quick and friendly. Love that you have access to records via the PetSites webpage and app. Highly recommend.

They take good care of our dogs. We recently switched from another practice in Oak Park and prefer going here. Our dog just had ACL surgery and is in recovery. The surgery seemed to have been done well as she is recovering well. It's not the cheapest place but you get good care. Easy to get appointments.

I've been to one other vet in Oak Park for my kitty, and will never go back after being here! The staff was kind and courteous, the facility looked and smelled clean, the wait time was about 37 seconds, and they had us in and out in a matter of no time! I will definitely be bringing all my fur babies here from now on :)

These guys are rockstars! I drive out from the city they are that awesome! Dr. Thomas has been our vet for almost ten years, he's gone above and beyond helping my cast of characters. The staff have always been patient with my "hard to handle" few, always willing to help me train and make it a rewarding visit for all involved. Thanks for all you do!

Will not be returning to this vet after my experience today.
I brought my dog in for annual vaccines and a heartworm test. Dr Thomas took her in the back, "gave her the 3 vaccines and performed the heartworm test", and then sent me on my way. I clearly asked Dr Thomas how I would know the results for the heartworm test after he gave me minimal information upon returning my dog to me. They take good care of our dogs. We recently switched from another practice in Oak Park and prefer going here. Our dog just had ACL surgery and is in recovery. The surgery seemed to have been done well as she is recovering well. It's not the cheapest place but you get good care. Easy to get appointments.
