I was a very satisfied client of Dr. Lindberg, who founded this clinic, for 38 years, but when he retired earlier this year, he sold his practice. When my 20 year old cat, Ditto, suffered a broken leg as the result of getting stepped on by my dog, I took him to the Animal Clinic of Romeoville where his records still were. I must say, that I could not have been more disappointed. The vet who first saw Ditto, Dr. Amy Meyers, was less than compassionate and immediately assumed that Ditto was in renal failure and that given his age the leg would more than likely not heal. In spite of her doom and gloom attitude, I made the decision for his leg to be splinted knowing it could take a long time. Six weeks later we returned for additional radiographs. This time Dr. Pelkey was the vet. She wanted me to leave the cat and come back hours later to pick him up. I drive over 20 miles to get to this clinic, and if it was necessary for me to leave him, then I should have been told that on the phone when I made the appointment! Needless to say, I ended up staying while the radiographs were performed. Dr. Pelkey indicated, though, there was no sign of healing at that time. The leg was resplinted and we were instructed to return in four weeks. Four weeks later we returned and it was then I was told in no uncertain terms by Dr. Meyers that if the leg did not look like it was healing then she would not resplint it even if I wanted her to. I explained to her that Ditto was doing fine getting around with the splint, he was not in pain, and he was eating and using his litterbox and I did not understand why it couldn't be resplinted. Dr. Meyers maintained a very cold, clinical demeanor and would not even listen to reason. When I said in a very calm voice that I was frustrated as hell with the clinic since Dr. Lindberg left, she began to verbally reprimand me for swearing rather than trying to salvage my 38 year relationship with the clinic. To make a long story short, I took my cat and copies of his records and radiographs to Dr. Pasdo at the Arboretum View Animal Hospital in Downers Grove. He viewed the most recent radiograph and said there was definite evidence of healing. The splint remained on and I was advised to bring Ditto back in four weeks. Well this morning was our appointment, and I am delighted to say that his leg is now healed and the splint has been removed! Had I heeded to Dr. Meyer's doom and gloom attitude at our first visit, I may have made the decision to have my beloved cat euthanized instead of splinting the leg. I will never go back to this clinic and recommend you seriously think twice before bringing your animals there. Read Less
