I was specifically referred to Dr Robert Cook by my vet because my cat was vomiting. Rocky was only four yrs old and prior to this, had been very healthy. His lab work was good but digital X-rays were unclear as to what was causing the problem. My vet suggested seeing Dr Cook because when possible, he performs endoscopies, a less invasive procedure than surgery. The vet spoke to Dr Cook and told me that Dr Cook would examine Rocky, evaluate him and perform surgery if necessary. Instead of Dr Cook, Dr Kroll saw my beloved companion. I wwas told that Dr Cook had left for the day. She said he'd looked at the x-rays and decided to manage him medically. I was at his office all afternoon. Dr Kroll and staff were kind and compassionate, but I'll never know, had Dr Cook taken the time to see Rocky, as promised, if there would've been a better outcome. Specifically, had he examined Rocky before all the trauma my poor kitty endured, exploratory surgery might have saved him. As Rocky's owner, I should've been allowed to participate in the course of treatment that took place.
I spoke with my vet and was told the case had been mismanaged. Read Less
