This review comes long overdue. We've been taking our dogs to Dr. Churan for the past couple years, and have been disappointed with the service and bedside manner of Dr. Churan on a couple of occasions, but kept giving the place another chance. Last year my four-year-old dog had swollen lymph nodes in his hind legs. He had that before when his allergies led to an infection, so we weren't too concerned that the swelling was due to something else, as he was fighting an infection simultaneously at that time, as well. To my dismay, after being seen by her in the patient room, Dr. Churan came out into the reception area (filled with about 7-10 other clients waiting for their appointments) and said rather loudly, "if the infection doesn't clear up in a few days, this might mean lymphoma". I was floored that not only she shared this with a room of strangers, but the lack of compassion in her voice. She ended up taking a sample of the fluid to rule out lymphoma, but over the next two days I was a complete wreck with the mindset that my dog had cancer. Thankfully, it ended up not being lymphoma, but that left a negative impression about Dr. Churan and ACSE. Despite that instance, we gave it another chance. Β The last straw was when recently Dr. Churan refused to fill a prescription without seeing my dog while we were out of town. My dog had just recently been to see Dr. Churan the last month or so. He was left in the care of the dog sitter while we were away on vacation. Dr. Churan was well aware of the ongoing issues my dog had with allergies, yet, instead of providing some relief in an emergency situation, she flat out refused to even allow for a small dose of what he had been receiving for his flare up until we got back in town. Instead, the dog had to suffer the remaining days while we were gone, and my husband and I spent the remaining days of our vacation playing a nervous wreck round of phone tag with the dog sitter to ensure he wasn't getting worse. To top it off, no phone call from Dr. Churan, even after I spoke with reception and told them it was an emergency and to have her call back ASAP. Reception seemed to feel terrible for Dr's lack of compassion and bedside manner, but obviously the matter was out of their hands. To this date, no return phone call was ever received. We have since found another vet. It was long overdue. Our new vet follows through, and values their clients. I've had several wellness check phone calls from him in the few short months since we've switched, and he has gotten to the bottom of my dog's allergy issues, instead of masking it month after month with steroid shots. Our new vet also doesn't require and charge me for a "vet visit" every time a prescription is filled. I use this term loosely with regard to Dr. Churan's vet check, as hers only consisted weighing my dog, and was never thorough enough to constitutive charging us for it. Very disappointed, yet happy to have found a new vet. A friend of ours warned us after Dr. Churan told them their dog was in liver failure and had only a short time left. That was five or so years ago, and it was later determined by their new vet that the dog never had liver issues in the first place! Β Do yourself a favor--If you want a follow-through vet--do not choose this one! Β I have heard similar comments from others who have switched, and with good reason! Read Less
