This is the best Veterinarian clinic in South Elgin, Elgin. The staff is always so welcoming and so understanding. I have a ten year old chihuahua and he is my world. I absolutely love the veterinarian and staff at South Town. This is the opposite of how most vets feel- it feels like a family here. Everyone knew my name and my pups name within one visit, and they called and checked in on how his treatment was going 2x after our first visit. On our first visit as we were new patients, the vet spent almost 45 minutes really learning about my dog- service I have not received at my previous vet (though they were not terrible by any means). I look forward to bringing my cats here too when they are due for a visit- but am thrilled with the service and treatment my dog received. I had a rough rough time putting a cat down who for years peed on everything I own. I made an appointment with another clinic last week who knew the details and scheduled and appointment only to turn me down when I went there. I was so devastated and it is too bad the other place made it harder. South Town understood my pain and dilemma and told me they would help me put down my cat. Again, a hard hard week and a looonnng drive there, but they were so wonderful and tolerated my falling apart. They let me be with him and he was purring before he went and I can feel good about that. Sometimes you can't take the wild out of an animal and they don't belong indoors as a pet, and I guess my cat was just being a cat, but because there were no alternatives for an old, spoiled, prince of an animal other than this, they helped make it a little easier to do such a difficult thing. A few years ago our cat became very sick and almost passed away from a serious illness.We brought him to South Town and we were positive that the doctors at South Town saved his life. They did everything that they could to save his life and they did. The staff was calling us all day when he got home to make sure he was Ok.The staff there is amazing and so kind to us and our very important members of our family. The doctors take their time with my pet making sure to check all areas of concern as well as any they may View needing attention. When we first moved into the area, one of my dogs got bitten by a neighborhood dog at 5 PM on a Friday and needed immediate care. We didn't have a vet yet, and no one else would see us. Dr. Crittenden took care of him, and we have been going back ever since, for everything from routine vaccinations and wellness to surgeries--tumor removals, bladder stones, and dental surgery. Dr. Crittenden is very good about explaining different options, and always takes the time to make sure you feel comfortable with a decision. Everyone here cares about your pet! The veterinarians and all the staff here are fabulous! Dr. Crittenden accurately diagnosed and treated my dog for allergies, dental concerns, travel/medication concerns and many other issues. She always returns my phone calls after hours at no cost to me to address my concerns. The staff is very helpful and accommodating for all my needs. The office manager promptly answers emails, responding to my questions in that manner. The entire staff know my dog and always expresses concern. From our annual wellness check to incidents that have occurred at home or our local dog park, South Town Animal Hospital and Dr. Crittenden always gives my dog fast and efficient treatment and puts my mind at ease. I cannot tell you how many messages I have left with "the ladies". The Dr. always calls me back. It can be late at night, but she always remembers you.
