This is the best vet's office I have ever visited. I previously too my dog to see Dr. Jones, but since he retired we saw Dr. Gann this year. They are so helpful and thorough. (They diagnosed by dog with a heart murmur, which no other vet ever mentioned.) However, they are not pushy about treatments. My dog needs his teeth cleaned, but when I brought up my concerns regarding his age and health with the anesthesia required, Dr Gann have me samples of some dental treats for him to try instead. Wonderful Doctors & Staff! We've been bringing our animals here since Dr. Michael's over in Whiting closed down. I am so happy that we started coming here the doctors and staff are always very friendly and will take the best care of your pets. We recently found a dog and after no one claimed decided to keep her. She was so sweet and loving. We thought she had just had puppies only to discover she was about to have puppies in 5 - 10 days! Not only that this poor girl was 8 yrs old. We've never gone through it and would never want to we immediately get our pets fixed for our and their well being. After our poor Lady struggled for days over the weekend to deliver her pups (we did take her to the ER in Crestwood only to be sent home assuring us she was fine) but 5 hrs later two pups were born dead and one survived. We took Lady and her pup to Illiana the next day for a checkup only to discover a pup was still inside her:( I was so upset she was gonna have to go through surgery and I would have to try and bottle feed her one little pup that made it. Again this was never my choice for this poor dog to be going through any of this in the first place. We didn't think the little pup would make it. Thanks to the awesome staff and Doctors over at Illiana our little guy made it. This is mostly thanks to a little Angel named Melanie over at Illiana who worked on her little pup for 45 mins to save him!! The staff is friendly and caring, the office is clean and comfortable and Dr. Gann is knowledgeable and compassionate.My 97 year old father has been taking his beagles here for years. Employees are friendly and very supportive ! I had my dog for 12 years before I had to put him to sleep, he only went here . When I put him down they were very supportive (I cried like a baby) they hugged me and gave me tissue while also giving me encouraging words. Read Less

When I picked up my Maggie's ashes, they told me the "girls" (they're really women) at Illiana made a paw print mold for me, no charge. It would have made me cry, if I hadn't been crying already. Have taken our pets for 20+ years to Illiana Veterinary Hospital and my parents took their pet here before me. When you walk through the door, you and your pet are greeted with a smile and you immediately feel like family. Lobby wait time is not long and appointments are easily made. Staff is always friendly and helpful, never to busy to assist you with whatever you need. Dr. Jones has been our Vet since day 1 and you just can't get anyone any better. Such a Caring, Devoted man who is so so gentle with our pets. Definitely loves what he does! He's happy when you're happy and he's sad when you're saddened. Love this man! Started coming here on the recommendation of a friend, and after our first visit, I could not be happier. Dr. Jones provided the most thorough vet exam my pup, Maxwell, has had on the 6 years since I got him.The doc recommended teeth cleaning, but since Maxwell is a senior, I had concerns about the anesthesia. He totally heard my concerns about the risks of anesthesia at Maxwell's age. He did a more thorough exam listening to Maxwell's heart and determined he has a heart murmur and slight arrhythmia. He said he would recommend a chest xray, blood work and an additional exam before doing the teeth cleaning and that it's not anything urgent if I don't want to take on the risks. Read Less

The Vetenarians at Illiana are amazing, I have been a client for almost 30 years. Dr Jones has been caring for all my dogs and is absolutely wonderful he is so kind and so very talented, Itrust him completely. When Dr Jones is not available Isee Dr Gan who has been wonderful also. The Dr.s are always so compassionate when my babies are sick and extremely informative regarding their conditions. Ican't say enough about Illiana, the Doctors and the staff. Our dog Lucky came to us off the streets 14 years ago and had to have surgery to take out a partially nectrotic eye and remove a number of teeth.  We've been going to Illiana ever since, even though they are now significantly out of our way.  Today, Lucky needed surgery to remove a large tumor and even though he's now 16, Dr. Jones and his tech, Melanie pulled him through.  Do not let the very dated decor turn you off.  These pros will take excellent care of your pets at a very reasonable cost. They are so nice. I got lost and a staffmember named Sara gave me directions until I got there. I was late coming and they still served me. When I got there with my kitten name Mittens they complimented how adorable she was and gave her free food and a diet program plus snacks. They also told her how much they loved her.
