The employees here ate very sweet the vet. Will find a way to take care of your cat or dog to get them healthy. But sometimes like with my Boston terrier he has cancer the vet. If I could give 0 stars I would. This place did nothing to save our precious dog. We took him in because he wasn't eating and would still vomit. He was tired and not the energetic 2 year old puppy that he was. They just gave him a shot to stop the nausea. If you were any good vet you would have realized his symptoms. With him being a rottewiler and young, Addison's Disease is common for them. The vet at the other hospital knew what it was right away, but it was too late. You just cared that we couldn't afford the money for blood tests. You didn't even help us apply for pet care credit like the other Animal Hospital did. By the time we got him to another vet that was more than willing to do anything for our dog, within an hour his body shut down and he was non responsive. We had to put him down last night because all you care about is money and not what being a vet is all about. Saving the lives of helpless animals. Do not go here. This place should be closed. This vet clinic has a super friendly staff who always remember us and our pets,, even if we only come in for the annual vaccinations. The medical staff are great and take the time to answer all questions in order to assess any issues and explore options. Animal Medical Clinic provides quality care to pets and staff are genuinely loving to the animals. They open at 7:30 am and will almost always take animals that same day as long as you call before you drop off. They are flexible and accommodating by allowing clients to drop off pets before their appointment time so that you can get on with your day. They allow for pickup at the end of the day after work. They are affordable and have an awesome rewards program which earns free exams, cash off at appointments and much more. This would have been 5 stars but I wish the clinic was on a less busy street (Jefferson) because it's tough to get through traffic to turn into the lot. My puppy recently broke her leg. Her primary vet wouldn't even take the time to look at her xrays, but Dr. Atkins saw us right away. Her and her staff have been very helpful through the entire process including with helping me figure out the physical therapy. Couldn't ask for a better vet and would recommend her to anyone. Very disappointed in this clinic as we've taken our dog here his whole life. Our pooch comes up with stomach problems (he kept throwing up his food right after eating and was acting very lethargic) so we take him in and they give him very bland food which I told them he wouldn't eat (he never did) , and a nausea shot that caused him great pain (which they didn't warn us about, poor pooch was wailing and whimpering when he came back much more than a regular shot) . I noticed he was in pain due to the shot before we even left the vet and brought it up to the receptionist, where I was told he was only acting that way for attention. The pain from the shot made him even more lethargic and clearly in more pain which carried on to the next day. We brought him in again only this time I was told that it was his back hurting him and not his stomach. His back was arched because of his severe stomach pain. So they give us anti inflammatory medicine and Pepcid and send us home again where vomitting still persists. At this point we decided to go to the vet in Virginia Il where they did bloodwork right away to make sure it wasn't anything severe. Thankfully it wasn't, he was diagnosed with a sensative stomach and we were given more bland dog food that looked and smelled much better than that from the Jefferson clinic in Springfield. He's actually been eating it and we haven't had any problems since. The staff at the Jefferson clinic seems very inexperienced and careless. We would have saved my dog from unnecessary pain as well as time and money to have just done bloodwork in the first place instead of letting them poke around trying to decide whether it was this, that or the other. Dr. Burnett and her staff are very compassionate, professional, and friendly. Today was the first time my dog Casey was there for medical treatment and he was treated as if he was their pet and took the time to explain to me his diagnosis and treatment options. I will definitely return and advise all pet owners to seek veterinary treatment from the Animal Medical Clinic of Springfield! Read Less
