Words can not begin to describe how wonderful the whole staff at Brewers is. We started going here when we adopted our greyhounds and even years latter we wouldn't think of going elsewhere. Dr Ward is so wonderful. She was so kind when we had to make the ultimate decision for the girls, she made two of the worst days in our lives bearable. And I can't say enough about how well they treat my terror of a cat. They know exactly what to do so his visits are as painless as possible. To both him AND the staff. My wife and I have been going to brewer for the past two years. Our dogs feel most at ease then any place else while there. But that's not why I'm writing. On Monday we brought in our Goblin who's health had rapidly declined through out the weekend. We hoped for the best but knew something was wrong. When we arrived at the office we were treated with knowledge and care. We were told how things would work and what could be wrong. Things were worse then we thought and we were given honest advice about what could happen and what would probably happen. When we decided not to prolong Goblins pain we were allowed so much compassion in our last moments with her. We were given the space and time with her both before and after she was allowed to rest. Today in the mail was a card. From everyone at the hospital. It's something unexpected these days. To be cared for after even after a procedure like that. Thank you guys. Took Goldie to see Dr. Ward for possible skin infection. As usual, Dr. Ward diagnosed the problem quickly and we were on our way home with medication and special shampoo within 10 minutes of arrival. I really like efficiency and skill! Unbeatable combination! Read Less

I was able to get my cat in at the last minute when he had a UTI and I was really impressed with the staff at Brewer. I especially appreciated that the follow up to his infection was thorough-- we saw two different vets and they were both great. Read Less

Exceptional. Dr. Ward is the BEST. Period. Aside from the yearly check-ups, generally when we come to the clinic it's because one of our family members is ill or has some kind of concern that we're worried about. Brenda, Dr. Kirk, Dr. Kiley and staff have all been wonderful during my pups journey. We rescued Bear from the threat of being euthanized because he had been in the shelter too long. Exactly one week after bringing him into our home, Bear chased his little human out our front door as he was getting on the bus and Bear was struck by a car. We love Bear very much. He's such a wonderful addition to our family, and thanks to your staff, he can continue to live a happy, healthy life with us. 5 stars is not enough...I absolutely love Brewer and the staff.  I recently moved to IL and when we move the hardest thing to find is an excellent vet for my 14.5 yr old and 2.5 yr old beagles.  I read the Yelp reviews and decided to give Brewer a try...so glad I did.  Dr. Kirk saved the life of my 14.5 yr old beagle Abby.  She has a heart condition and went into distress...though I took her to an emergency vet she progressively got worse through the early morning and when I called Brewer they got her in immediately.  Dr. Kirk put her in an oxygen chamber and adjusted her meds and while we are still watching her closely she seems to be on the mend.  Everyone was great to me and took wonderful care of Abby.  I can't thank them or recommend the clinic enough! My kitty, Charlie, was very at ease with Dr. Ward. He barely moved when receiving his vaccinations. The reception area is pleasant and calming for the few minutes I waited to be escorted back to a private room. The receptionist thoroughly explained all charges for the procedures. Dr. Evan Kirk was great with my 6 yr old Russian Blue Icky recently when I had to bring him in, it turned out Icky has congestive heart failure and was placed on medicines he has since been doing better. Dr & staff are wonderful, I would never go anywhere else!! Read Less

I have taken my cats to Brewer Animal Hospital for years. I absolutely love this incredible staff! A Big Thank You goes out to Dr. Ward who always is so kind and caring to cats. She has a gentle touch and I know my cats Deedee and Lady are in excellent hands when she is treating them. She starts with practical suggestions to try first in treatment. I love how she listens to my concerns and explains things thoroughly. She is so patient and will demonstrate for me what I need to do on the home front so that I play an active role in the care of my cats. Another Big Thank You goes to Dr. Kiley who is amazing! Her friendly upbeat personality and her knowledge base put me immediately at ease. She is outstanding in diagnosing and is very proactive in treatment. She recently treated my 15 year old cat Deedee for severe fecal impaction and dehydration. Her straight-forward approach in treatment options gave me the reassurance I needed to leave Deedee with her and the staff for the next 36 hours. Dr. Kiley answered all of my questions clearly, showed me the X-rays, addressed my cost concerns by giving me an estimate of the cost upfront, and gave me updates over the phone of Deedee's progress. I have been taking my 3 fur babies there since I adopted the first one in 2009. My mom recommended them and Dr. Ward when she had ferrets. I love this place! I would not take my babies anywhere else! They are caring and understanding. When my female fur baby gets sick, we just have to call and they will just have us pick up medicine rather than bringing her in. Also, I love the reminder cards! The first one is always addressed to your baby and the second one is addressed to you and states that your baby must have hidden the first reminder...LOL. Dr. Ward is fantastic with my babies and I trust her completely! I would highly recommend them to anyone. My wife and I have taken our dogs to Brewer Animal Hospital for over 25 years and we have always received professional, caring service. This past weekend, we were on vacation and my sister was watching our dog when the dog somehow suffered a puncture wound. Our dog was taken to Brewer where she received wonderful care.Upon return from vacation, I had questions about care and treatment of the wound (my sister received the instructions, but this was not completely conveyed to me). I called the office and The Dr. Responded very quickly and answered all my questions.I plan on taking my dogs to Brewer for the next 25 plus years. Thanks to their wonderful staff. Read Less

Dr Ward called us everyday over the Thanksgiving weekend to keep us up on our cat's condition after he got hold of, and swallowed some sewing thread. He had been getting sick, and I finally took him in the day before the holiday, not realizing how serious his condition was. She offered to look after him when I expressed concern about going out of town. She called Friday morning, said the meds were not working, they'd have to do surgery, or we'd lose him. We made arrangements for the lesser surgery she said they could do, she (and staff) monitored him the whole weekend, and discharged him on Monday. Because he was kept at the hospital, we were able to spend more time with our family out of town, instead of racing back Friday morning. What could have been a very stressful, or even sad, holiday weekend, was made much less so, by Dr Ward, and the other vets, and staff at Brewer Animal Hospital. We will go there as long as we have furbabies in our home. Drs. Kirk and Kiley are also quite attentive to our basset, which brought us there in the first place. Read Less

Couldn't be happier with this place! We were recommended here by friends of ours that have 3 dogs, we currently have 2. We have been to see the Vets here about 4 different times for our dogs, and each time has been pleasant. The staff is friendly and the Vets are Professional. The main thing to point out about these guys is the fact that they are, by far, the least expensive Vets in town. They provide the EXACT same services as other Vets, but they don't use your love for your animal against you/your wallet and suggest ludicrous expensive options for you to "try." They give it to you straight and at an affordable rate. I wish I could give more stars! Read Less
