I've never been treated with respect by this place. Everytime I go in they try to sell me something and 1 time I was charged $400 for basically nothing. I got similar treatment from Bethany animal hospital too. I was tired of the anxiety id have before going to them so I did some searching in near by towns. I found a vet in Elgin that was going to charge me 1/2 the price for the same thing. Though the drive was 30 mins away i figured I'd check it out.. and boy am I glad i did. Cleveland veterinary clinic in elgin is where I went they are AMAZING. I will contiue to drive the 30 mins. Their prices are great and they care about us and our dogs. Never once tried to sell us anything we didn't need and even gave us the option for cheaper medicine for my olde english bulldogges that got an infection. The vet herself called us the next day to see how my dog was doing. Never will I go to a vet in Sycamore again. Read Less

We switched about a year ago. We are always greeted warmly. We have had different vets each time, but love all of them. They are friendly and willing to stay and answer any question we have. Never once have I felt like they did not understand my dog and how to work with her. She is 75 lbs and the metal tables make her nervous. They get down on the floor to play with her and give her the shots. This is the most calm she has ever been at the vets. The docs here are amazing. I saw one on a Saturday for my dog that won't stop puking in the middle of the day and the doc had several options while I was there and then called after my appt AND on Sunday with more options. He said he wanted to figure out what's going on with my dog so he's throwing anything he can think of at me! They r great! Read Less

New Dog Patient... Called Sycamore Animal Hospital and so far am very pleased with the knowledge I received over the phone and not even being a patient yet! Also, Cheaper than Genoa Animal Hospital by around $20 for an Exam, Rabies, Distemper, and Heartworm Test!!! Umm yes please, I'd like to save $20 on yearly Dog Care!!! Parents have taken our family dog here for last 9 years and now recently over the last month we have been taking our new pup here. Staff is always wonderful and friendly. Years ago our family dog was hit by a car and we rushed him to the Sycamore Animal Hospital and they immediately took him back for scans to make sure he was ok. Thankfully all ended well, but we will always remember the kindness and urgency the staff showed with our pets. They will treat your pet as their own! Read Less

When we rescued our 3 month old husky, Maya, the Sycamore Animal Hospital was our first stop. Never having owned a dog before, we had a ton of questions and everyone was so patient and answered all of questions completely. We had adopted our puppy from Tails Humane Society in Dekalb, which gave us a coupon for a free wellness check up after two weeks. I chose to go to Sycamore Animal Hospital since it was close and had good reviews online. However, I was very disappointed with the treatment I had received. Due to my perceived age, Dr.Linda Olson decided not to build a relationship with my dog and myself, but talk at me, giving me irrelevant advice that did not apply to my situation, but something she would have known had she been more personable. I feel that she assumed that I was a young adult that had possibly adopted a dog that I could not handle, although my demeanor and my very well-behaved dog did not give her any reason to talk down to me. I took my dog this hospital today.I was very nervous because I had a very bad experience in the past at Animal Health Care PC in Naperville. However, Tammy, who works as a staff, was very thorough for the entire procedures.She was very knowledgeable and understanding. I also saw Dr. Olson, who as also very friendly and knowledgeable.My dog is not very common kind, but she knows very well about my dog's characteristics.I really appreciated their ways to treat my dog because they know that my dog is one of my family members. I am sure that they care about owners and their pets. The price is also reasonable when compared with other hospitals.(For example, $400.00 at the Animal Health Care PC in Naperville, I paid $200.00 here for exactly SAME TEST.)I actually used to go to the different hospital in sycamore, but thinking to change to this hospital for my dog! This is the greatest place around! I've been to other vet clinics in the area, and these folks by far outshine them all. Super friendly staff, great vets. Took my cat here for his annual exam/rabies shot, and I highly recommend Dr. Olsen. Listens to your concerns, and doesn't try to sell you unnecessary products/procedures. She was very gentle with my big tabby. We discussed in length about putting him on a diet, and she gave pretty good advice, I thought.Only gave 4 stars due to the wait - it wasn't very busy so I was unsure of why we waited 20 minutes after filling out paperwork. Reception could've been a little nicer. Also the last girl I spoke to when making the appt., told me the exam and shot would be one price, and was told another higher price at the appointment. My dog cracked a tooth while I was out of town.  Thank god for yelp.  I located the Sycamore Animal Hospital and had to trust the one review that it had.  Fortunately, it was a very positive review and obviously genuine.  I called the hospital that afternoon and they were incredibly helpful.  They got me an appointment the following morning.  Very professional and caring people.  I had to get my wife to the airport that same day and they accommodated my schedule.  Reasonable price and my pooch got a teeth cleaning/plaque removal too.  I will drive far out of my way to go back again.
