4Paws Animal Clinic opened it's doors on June 1, 2004. We are located in the hometown setting of Washington, IL. Washington is a friendly village-type town, with a neighborly attitude. We at 4Paws, strive to meet the needs of the local community with our pleasant, warm and knowledgeable staff. We continue the commitment to give top of the line, quality care that folks can still afford.

I just want to let pet owners know that this office does not allow owners into new patient appointment even after the governor has moved the state into phase 5 as an open state. I asked if I could go in with my 2 dogs as it was their first time being seen at this office. Both are skiddish of new places and people I was told that the office is waiting for ISVMA clearance to allow pet owners in. After leaving the office I decided to call and ask why I wasn't told that all appointments were drop offs and was told that there are new people working and they must have forgotten. I attempted to explain to the woman on the phone that I had heard great things about this office and drove all the way from Kewanee to come to this visit she repeatedly just said okay in an annoyed tone. After I spoke with her I called the ISVMA in Springfield and was told that there is no such clearance, that all that needs to be done is follow CDC and local guidelines, which now means only masking if you are unvaccinated. I cannot believe the unprofessional attitude I was given from this office. If I would've been told this over the phone I wouldn't have scheduled the appointment and made the trip down to Peoria. I will be making an appointment with another vet.

Had my dog neutered and cost about $500. Expensive but understandlable. When I called asking about symptoms regarding my dog, staff member was less than polite and didn't bother to give me any sort of explanation besides having lab work done on my dogs urine and possibly starting him on bladder infection pills. I took 5 minutes to research online and found the answer to his frequent urination, which is most likely due to the hormonal imbalance. A little bit of customer service and patience would have been nicer than jumping to more labs and tests, as well as more money out of my pocket.

A place that cares for your pets and charges a FAIR price! I am saving 40% to 50% for procedures and exams.
Dr. Heather and her staff have been great. People here talk about her availability but this is a small place and vets are entitled to have lives. Emergencies happen and thats why there are places just for that situation...
When a diagnosis wasnt clear on one of our pups, she suggested we go to U of I for further tests. Glad she did because it was pretty serious. Her strong suggestion is the reason we still have our dog.
Please dont let the love of your pet blind you to the prices MOST places charge! I made calls and asked around. In the Peoria and surrounding area, their prices were most reasonable and you dont suffer in quality of care nor customer service!

I have recently started taking my puppy to 4 Paws and my prior experiences have been wonderful. However, I dropped him off at 8am on May 18 for him to be neutered and when we got inside, the nurse took his leash from my hands without me even getting to say goodbye to him or to comfort him before I left him there. Then from the next room, I heard her yelling at Piston to "sit". He is 5 months old and this is his second time to the vet. I do not feel it's necessary to yell at a frightened puppy. I did not appreciate the horrible manners this visit.

Heather and her staff have always gone above and beyond to help us with all our dogs. They have been loving, attentive, and gone beyond what I would consider normal veterinary responsibility to insure all our dogs are healthy. Their love for what they do is evident in their mannerisms, and the way they treat every animal.
ALL my neighborhood friends use 4 paws and we all love the care and time she takes to explain tests, procedures, and gives insight into the behavioral or health issues with each individual dog and cat we share our lives with.
After the tornado she and her staff stepped up to provide shelter and love to displaced animals, as well as help raise money and awareness of the dire situation with these lost and displaced pets.
Our dogs are our life, and quite simply stated, I trust her with their lives as well.

If you have a pet that is like family then 4 Paws Animal Clinic is the best place to take them. The clinic is friendly, professional, compassionate and will truly take the time to listen, exam and find the least invasive treatment for your 4 Pawed friend. Our canine companions have certainly benefited from their knowledge, services and love.

If I could give them 10 stars I would! I love Heather and all of her staff. We have 2 dogs; both my little babies. One of them has severe allergies and anxiety. We switched from our former vet to Heather's office a few years ago and our dogs have never been happier or healthier. Our male Lab/Terrier mix has severe allergies and was in really bad shape when we started coming to 4 Paws. Heather took the time to sit down and talk to us about all of his issues and then she offered some affordable options for us to try. Within a couple months his allergies were finally under control (first time since we've had him). She also offered help and guidance for us with his anxiety issues. We had recently had our first child and now currently have another on the way. Without 4 Paws' help we would have had to get rid of our dog because of his anxiety issues. With the help of Heather and her staff he has turned out to be an amazing dog who is great not only us, but also with our child. Very refreshing to find a vet who's in it because she loves animals and not because she wants to see how much money I will pay for my pets.

I believe 4 Paws is the most caring place to take our beloved pets. From Heather to all the girls in the office they really care for our animals and our feelings for our animals. You couldn't take your pets to a better more caring Vet, she is wonderful! My Jack had cancer and she made him feel better, we could not have asked for anything better. Heather you and the girls ROCK!!!
In the spring I am going to get a pup and I plan on coming to you for his or her care. Keep up the marvelous work girls!

Whenever I wanted a second opinion on my aging dog I took her here. They were very compassionate and sesitive to the needs of my dog and my family. Unfortunately they didn't have good news for my girl, but they gave us best & worst case scenarios, she offered me several treatment options and she shared how she would treat if it were her own dog, which is how I proceeded as well. I cannot say enough positive things about the very sad visit. We took our girl home with us and made her as comfortable as she could be, and were fortunate to have her for 4 more months, rather than just 3. (Prognosis was 6 weeks to 3 or a little more months)

The entire team here takes wonderful care of our dogs and cat and are very friendly to us as well. We are VERY happy they are boarding animals again as our dogs LOVE to go see them!

I just want to let pet owners know that this office does not allow owners into new patient appointment even after the governor has moved the state into phase 5 as an open state. I asked if I could go in with my 2 dogs as it was their first time being seen at this office. Both are skiddish of new places and people I was told that the office is waiting for ISVMA clearance to allow pet owners in. After leaving the office I decided to call and ask why I wasn't told that all appointments were drop offs and was told that there are new people working and they must have forgotten. Had my dog neutered and cost about $500. Expensive but understandlable. When I called asking about symptoms regarding my dog, staff member was less than polite and didn't bother to give me any sort of explanation besides having lab work done on my dogs urine and possibly starting him on bladder infection pills. Heather and her staff have always gone above and beyond to help us with all our dogs. They have been loving, attentive, and gone beyond what I would consider normal veterinary responsibility to insure all our dogs are healthy. Whenever I wanted a second opinion on my aging dog I took her here. They were very compassionate and sesitive to the needs of my dog and my family. Unfortunately they didn't have good news for my girl, but they gave us best & worst case scenarios, she offered me several treatment options and she shared how she would treat if it were her own dog, which is how I proceeded as well. I cannot say enough positive things about the very sad visit.
