Associated Veterinary Clinic

Washington, Illinois
General Info
Associated Veterinary Clinic is a reliable and loving place for families in Washington to take their pets. The Associated Veterinary Clinic in Washington regards animal care as an interconnected dance, where every room gives gentle cues to the next movement and where no transition is forced or jarring. The multifaceted experience finds increasing momentum throughout Illinois. Prior to testing, animals undergo a pre-cue period which involves path walks to allow familiarization, light scent sampling and directional control. Room layouts are designed in a way to prevent pets from getting stuck, which is why symmetry is avoided. Staff members speak from positions behind and to the side of an animal, rather than in front of it, which prevents triggering alertness. The temperature difference is intentional and serves a purpose – the entryway needs to be cooler, and the main exhibit halls warmer to encourage people to move through. Associated Veterinary Clinic targets parameters such as mobility tracking, long-term inflammation, organ health, and neurological screening. Additionally, the clinic offers surgical consultation and dental staging. The transition processes between technical staff and veterinary personnel as well as examination locations are performed in such a way that no direct exchanges take place. Regulation comes before the tools. The method only initiates when the breath rhythm becomes flat and the blink rate slows down. The at-home guides include spatial decompression zones, multisensory prep kits, and friction-minimized walking patterns. The clinical care which occurs outside of the clinic taps into the same forces as subtle cues do in the office. Associated Veterinary Clinic outlines the concept for pet owners in Washington and across Illinois where treatment rooms are key, transition steps are seamless, and all components work together to achieve stability without rushing. Popular services at this facility include radiology (x-rays), surgery, vaccinations, dermatology, spay/neuter, oncology, ultrasound, wellness exams, dental care and emergency care with focus on individualized and professional care. In everything they do, from aiding pet parents with routine wellness plans to more complex health issues, Associated Veterinary Clinic inspires confidence and peace of mind through open communications and high standards. The team remains focused on growth and community involvement to ensure pets in Washington and beyond have access to high-quality care.

Dr Ryan and Dr Peterson take care of our personal cats and the numerous cats, kittens, dogs and puppies in our rescue, TLC Fosters. We have at least 600 plus animals a year with the rescue. We find them to be good clinicians and are helpful with our budget concerns. We find them to be open and honest with their treatment plans. They are great to follow up to check on the animals progress. Dr Peterson was able to cure a chronically ill cat that had been treated at 2 other vets for had treated for diarrhea. We had almost given up and the cat is happy in her new home. This is just one example of their good care but there are so many more where they go above and beyond for the good of the animals. Associated staff from front desk, Vet techs, Office Manger and Vets are super easy to do business with. Read Less

Would rate 0 if I could. Avoid bringing dogs here at all costs. My dog went in for a simple procedure and had an allergic reaction that they failed to notice. They insisted nothing was wrong but he showed signs of intense pain. We brought him back and they SENT US HOME WITH AN IV. Literally the whole iv with a bag and a stand and everything. Not only were we not qualified to use this or know how to work it, they offered no explanation. Just threw it all in a crate and said “just hook him up to an IV drip and he’ll be fine”. He didn’t even have one in him yet and how are we supposed to know where to find a vein in a dog untrained? Needless to say we promptly went from there to another care clinic but in the span of the three days he stayed in this hellish place the reaction had taken over his body and it was too late. If you want someone to literally kill your dog due to inexperience and simply not caring, go here. Otherwise stay as far away as possible. Please heed my warning. Read Less

I have just moved to the area, but my parents were taking our childhood pets here for a couple years (our cat Missy made it to 20 years!). We now have a new kitten that we adopted off the streets, and we take her here knowing that she'll receive the best care. I was worried after Kaia stopped eating after her surgery, but Dr. Ryan took such amazing care of her and reassured both my mom and me. I love that Dr. Ryan never rushes us: she takes her time and chats with us. It makes all the difference. Within hours of our visit on Friday, Kaia was back to her old self, playful and affectionate, eating like a little piggy, and purring on my head at 3am for more food. I also love that Associated Veterinary Clinic accepts Care Credit, as well, which is so helpful when one is job hunting. All of the staff here are so friendly and helpful.
