Took my collie here for over ten years. She received decent care during that time. Never had an issue, till my Collie got extremely sick. The costs were really high for her treatment and they would not work with us at all. As a result of trying to get financing for the treatments, that two day delay cost my collie her life. I will never forget that. Bottom line, go here only if you can pay in full for the services immediately, that is what this establishment is about. Read Less

Best animal hospital I've found! As an animal-lover, I've had my share of pets (3 dogs and 2 cats). As I've moved around a bit in Chicago's suburbs, I've tried different vets. When I got my second dog this place was recommended by my sister, and it did not disappoint! I've never found such a person clinic as this one. Dr. Antaal has the experience, knowledge and care to take care of your best friend, and the girls are equally experienced and friendly. I took my dog for an exam and vaccines.  My experience was all around just very bad!!!  The assistant was extremely rude!! She looked down on me for not getting the $900 spay I was quoted.   She rolled her eyes at me and gave me a very bad attitude, and we didn't get the additional vaccine for  $1 as advertised because she "didn't  recommend bordatella" Also during the "exam" (which lasted less than 3 minutes)  the vet just looked at my dog from afar.   He didn't look in her ears or eyes,  they didn't listen to her heart like other vets do.   Very bad treatment and I'm very disappointed.  Never going  back ever. I cannot say enough good things about this place. My first experience a few years ago was nothing to write home about, but I've completely changed my mind.My dog is admittedly aggressive, both towards strangers and animals alike. This vet and his staff do take precautions (I muzzle him before we go in) but they don't ever shy away from treating him. My fur baby has been sick for about a month - the first time, a GI problem that caused him to bleed and vomit blood. Just this week, he had bladder stones and one lodged in his urethra. As an aside, I also found out that my pup's heart is not the size it's supposed to be.The vet & his staff are excellent at calming down a hysterical pet owner (Hi, that's me!) and explaining thoroughly the problem and the treatment.Yes, it's pricey - but isn't all vet care?  My dog had surgery to remove the stones and has to be on special food the rest of his life. Dr did everything he could & more to make sure that my dog got treated properly and thanks to him, my baby gets to live and be healthy.  They even call to check in and see how he's doing which just adds bonus points in my book. I will always recommend him. Read Less

May 4, 2013Please read. This is a letter that was posted for Golf Rose Animal Hospital. They would not help my babies, but Dr. Antaal did.I called your hospital at around 8:30 A.M. on April 1st because two of my cats were very ill. My seven-year-old orange tabby, Do-g had open mouth breathing, not eating or drinking because of an upper respiratory infection. He had been seen by my vet previously and was given an injection which was not helping. My vet was out of town at the time. My other four-year-old shorthair, J.J., had a 104.6 temperature. She was ONE OF THE ONES I had saved from your hospital because she was scared and going to be euthanized.I explained my situation to Tony that I have been very sick. I have a disability lawyer and do not have any income at this time because I am unable to work. Kathy told Tony to ask me how much money I could put down! Tony said that she tried her best to help me and then suggested I should try Animal Welfare League. I told Tony that this should not have been about trying and told her I'll go elsewhere.Anyone who has worked in this profession knows that open mouth breathing and a very high temperature, for whatever the reason, is a great indication that an animal is in distress and needs help immediately, but I am wasting my precious time waiting to see if Tony can push this through. Are you kidding me!! Ethically speaking, for an " Emergency Animal Hospital" the response should have been, "Bring them right in, we'll work something out" or is that a misconception? Even an "Emergency Hospital" for humans has the dignity to see you first and does not say "Sorry, you have no money, you'll have to seek help elsewhere"! You explain to me what the difference is when it comes to caring about a living being! As a previous employee, did I not pay you what I owed, even after I left? Have you not extended credit to clients you don't know? If I had just walked in instead of calling; would I have been discriminated against because of my inability to pay at that time and told to go elsewhere? I would have found a way to pay, but I was not even given that chance! This was not about you or me, but about two innocent babies that needed help. You know where my heart lies with animals, whether they are my own or not, especially after the statement I wrote in my resignation letter. Maybe that's what this is all about? Is it a grudge that was standing in the way of ethical professionalism?I did find someone who cared and helped my babies and by the time I arrived J.J.'s  temperature was now 105! Both vets even cared enough to follow-up and see how J.J. and Do-g were doing. NO, IT WAS NOT FREE, THAT'S NOT WHAT I WAS ASKING FOR, BUT IT CERTAINLY WASN'T ABOUT THE MONEY EITHER, IT WAS ABOUT HELPING THEM!To: Dr. Randhawa-Bowes Rd. I recently had my dog in for an emergency c-section and hysterectomy. When I came to pick up mother and pups the pups were hypothermic. Within three days all the pups were dead and the mother dog was in hypovolemic shock. Our new vet was astonished that there had been no pain management offered to the mother dog. Be careful if you take your pet to Giller. It may cost their life. Another word of warning in spite of their lower prices on exams Giller makes up the difference in over charging for their prescription meds. I highly recommend going elsewhere. Read Less

Recently took dog to Giller for an emergency c-section and hysterectomy. When I picked up pups and mother dog the puppies were hypothermic. According to everything I've read that is a death sentence. The pups lived three days then died. The mother dog was given no pain management drugs after her major surgery. Her pain an nausea were not addressed. So she would not eat or drink for days and went into hypovolemic shock. My new vet was stunned that Giller sent her home without pain meds. I chose Giller because their prices for intial exams are lower than others. However, they make up for it by over charging for their prescription drugs 40 dollars for 40 cephalaxin tabs and such. Save the life of your pet spend the extra 20 dollars for the intial visit . Read Less

Read Less
