Horrible! They hurt my 13 year old 2 1/2 pound toothless Chihuahua. They muzzled her and then let her paw at it and rip her nail out (it got caught on the muzzle) . She was on the table under the supervision of the vet tech and doctor. My pup was in a lot of pain and bled all over. This mishap cost me $170 to get repaired at my own vet. The absolutely best place to bring your pet if you are in need of EYE CARE for your animal. The receptionists are very friendly and helpful with scheduling concerns and billing issues. The nurses aides are fantastic with your pets and really helpful answering any questions that concern you before you consult with the doctor. The doctor (Neal Wasserman) is very detail orientated and provides an expert diagnosis of your pets medical needs and the best path forward to a speedy recovery. I have brought two of my dachshunds (Cinnamon and Slugger) here over the years and have always received the BEST medical care that is available in this present day and age. Took my cat to the Phoenix office when I noticed a black spot in his eye. They recommended laser surgery. It was expensive, but went smoothly. Unfortunately the spots recurred and they recommended that the eye be removed. This was a big decision, and another big expense, but they were all very supportive. Dr. Barrett took the time to explain everything to me. The vet techs and front office staff were all very nice and took the time to make follow up calls after the surgeries. As soon as the pathology report came back they called with the results: Melanoma. Stage 1, so we caught it early and my cat has a good prognosis. I am the "person" for a 17 year old Shiba Inu, Cheeto, who suffered from two lens luxations within a week. Dr. Neal Wasserman and staff did a tremendous job patiently re-positioning ("couching") Cheeto's lens and prescribing the appropriate drops. It has been a few months now, and Cheeto's eye has been stable, her prognosis good. I have been very pleased with Dr. Wasserman, his gentle, caring, & supportive staff of vet techs. I have a big bug eye Boston terrier who is in here a lot! He is always poking and scratching his eye. The eye care you get here is far superior to what you would get from a general vet. I always call eye care first for all eye issues. I get into a room fast. My exams go fast. I get checked out fast. It's a great low stress environment for my dog. The staff is friendly and knows my dog well. I also feel the prices are reasonable for being a specialist! I never feel like I'm going in debt over my dogs special eye needs. Shadow suddently went blind. I called my vet and asked what it could be. She said either cataracts or detached retinas and to take her to Eye Care asap. Turned out my little girl had two semi-detached retinas due to high blood pressure! They gave me a scrip for high blood pressure and told me to give her 1/4 pill every day until they were used up and to recheck with my regular vet (since she has a blood pressure m/c). The caring staff at Eye Care amazed me (and Shadow). Shadow was always a terror at the "normal" vet's offices; she was a docile pussycat as the staff was so kind to her.
