I will start off with disclaimer that I have never boarded before, so I was unsure of what to expect, and I do baby my dog as he is very attached to me and only a year old, but hence why I was attracted to a boarding facility that advertised 'spacious puppy villas', music therapy, and a caring staff. I made a reservation for my little Fido to be boarded for one night, and the lady who I set up the reservation with was very sweet, and assured me everything would be taken care of for my pup. I originally decided to go with the medium villa so that he could have extra room (he's only 12 pounds), but they assured me that a small villa could hold an 80 pound dog, so he would be fine. The way they described the villas made them sound like literally little mini rooms for the dogs to stay in. When I arrived to drop off my dog, I asked if I could see the area in back where he would be boarded. One of the staff members escorted me to the back with my dog, and I have to say, behind the desk, it does look nice... spacious areas where the doggie daycare must take place, etc. But then all the way in the back, he takes me to the room where they board the dogs. Compared to the space of the building, I was pretty shocked at how small the 'villas' were. Before he opened the door, he warned me that it would be loud because they were pretty much at full capacity. He opened the door, and wow. I mean it literally looked and sounded like a dog pound. There were at least 25 dogs in the room, all set up in stalls with plexiglass on the front. All of the dogs were just holwing and barking away. They just seemed miserable and my little dog was so terrified. He got attacked by a big dog when he was younger, and when I made the reservation, that implied that he would not be around other dogs, much less staring 20 of them in the face the whole time during his stay. I just don't understand if you have that much space to work with, why not space out the 'villas' so that 20 + dogs are not jammed into the same room? Additionally, the temperature was not hot, but it definitely was warm, and not comfortable. Or maybe it was just the congestion of the room, but it seemed very claustrophobic to me. I also asked them what time someone would be with them until that evening, and then again when someone would be back in the morning. They said that the attendant leaves them alone from 8pm until 6am the next day. That's ten hours!! And they told me not to worry, because they have a motion sensor if a dog were to escape or something. My primary concern is what if something happened to one of the dogs, or they got sick etc?! I mean if you look at any website, it'll tell you that even adult dogs are not supposed to be kept in cages longer than 8 hours as it is inhumane to them. For the prices they charge and the amount of business they get, they should be able to afford to keep someone on overnight. Needless to say, I literally left in tears and took my dog with me. No way I would make him go through something like that. Read Less
