Can’t think of one negative thing about this vet. I have been bringing my Lily here since she was under a year old and she just turned 3. They have been outstanding for everything. They did her spay in July 2016 and as a fur momma I was worried sick...I had NO REASON to be Dr. Spencer was incredible! They were all finished within an hour and took the best care of Lily the rest of the day. To this day my baby doesn’t even have a surgery scar from the procedure!! I was amaz...ed! Reassured me that they truly are one of the BEST surgical vets in the state. We go twice a year and with them being open until 9pm it helps a LOT. I work on the north shore and live in Lake County, leaving work at 5pm stopping home to pick up Lily and driving to Woodstock I always make it with time to spare! It’s a life saver for me being able to bring her in evening hours...worth the drive 100%. I always feel Lily gets first class care when we bring her here, even though Lily isn’t all that excited to go to the doctor they don’t take it personal and they are still gentle and professional all the time. Besides my husband & myself, AHOW is the only other place I’d trust with the care of my fur baby. See more

We cannot say enough about the Animal Hospital of Woodstock and how they took such good care of our dog. The staff, including Dr. Chris, was absolutely fantastic. In the final days before we said goodbye to our four-legged friend, they were so supportive and since have gone out of their way to help us with this terrible loss. We recently have moved out of the area to Texas, however, if we were to remain in the Woodstock area we would not hesitate to bring our family pet to them once again. They were absolutely phenomenal.

Amazing Veterinary Care! We were referred by our Vet to Animal Hospital of Woodstock. Our daughters puppy had been incorrectly spayed by a shelter out of town, and needed to essentially be re-spayed but with some serious complications due to her prior surgery. The surgery, involving her reproductive as well as digestive tracts was done by Dr. Jason Randall, DVM, with followup care provided by many on staff at the Hospital, specifically including his wife, Dr. Joann Randall, D...VM. As mentioned, the surgery was very complicated, correcting the work improperly done by the shelter’s provider, and also involving alleviating scar tissue build up, and separating digestive tract tissues from reproductive tissue, etc. The professional ability of Dr Jason and Dr. Joanne Randall, and the assisting staff is attested to by the condition and recovery of the puppy. Really, almost equally as important to us, as “parents” of the puppy, however, is the concern, the time, loving attention, and devotion which was evident. This ‘bedside manner’ was incredible to observe and so gratefully received. Having such a facility in our area is such a blessing, and we cannot recommend more strongly the Animal Hospital of Woodstock to anyone with veterinarian needs. See more

My usual clinic unfortunately has banker hours that don’t allow me to get my animals in for care during the week, especially if there’s a sudden concern. I have family and friends that use AHoW for reproductive care, so I thought I’d give them a call when I suspected my cat had a UTI. Not only did they get me in SAME DAY, but they were incredibly polite and accommodating. I’m very impressed with the level of care and compassion. I’ve only worked with Dr. Spencer, but if he is any indication of the rest of the veterinary staff, you can’t go wrong. I’ll definitely be back!

We moved to the area a year and a half ago and struggled to find a new vet that met our needs. When we found AHOW we were nervous at the thought of having another bad experience. We were immediately at ease after our first visit. Each staff person we have met has provided utmost patience, respect, and compassion every single time we needed them. With our sixteen year old pup living out her last days here it was important that we worked with people that would help us make the rest of her time very comfortable. They did just that all the way through her passing. We cannot express our gratitude enough. Thank you very much for all of the hard work you do and every ounce of love and kindness you spread. We need more people like those at AHOW in this world!

I'll never go here again. 4 years ago, they misdiagnosed our cat; by the time we found out it was cancer it was too late. All of the signs were there for them to be able to diagnose liver cancer (elevated blood levels, filled void in x-ray), but they shrugged it of as a temporary sickness and we very indifferent about figuring it out. Not until weeks later, when insisted that thet figure out was wrong, did we get a proper diagnosis. I often wonder if we would still have our buddy Rizza had they caught it sooner.

We are in the process of moving, and we will miss Animal Hospital of Woodstock. The best care we've had for our cats of any place we lived.
We had a cat, Jill, who in her last years was making almost monthly visits as her health deteriorated. Once her vitals were, in the vets words, "Not compatible with life". Jill's fight and the vet and staff's care pulled her back. AHW gave her a dozen lives, not just 9. When it was her time, it was moving to see the staff-like client advocate Elizabeth-crying as hard as we were over her loss.
Another cat, Gary, had a tumor removed that all standard test showed it to be benign, but the vet was not as sure. We consented to additional testing, and it turned out to be a very aggressive cancer. It was sad to lose Gary, but the testing saved him weeks/months of suffering. These vets don't just look at charts and number--they look at the animal and the signs a test might miss.

The quality of care here is good, but I do feel they push for the most expensive option first. Truly nice people, but they are pricey. They always told me my cats needs rabies shots, so I faithfully did them every year. When I switched vets, I found out it was totally unnecessary since they are indoor cats. If you love your pets but are on a budget, be careful and ask a lot of questions - you might not get the options you need without asking. You may find out you don't HAVE to go straight for the MRI and spend thousands.

This is the only Vet that I trust with my babies. The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful. They truly do care about your pets and go above and beyond. Dr. Jay delivered our puppies via an emergency c-section after hours. They saw us through having to put another dog to sleep after a stroke. Dr. Roberto was amazing when my cat got pancreatitis. He gladly answered all my questions and was generally concerned about my cats well being. You can really see how much he loves animals. But what will keep me loyal (besides all of that) is when my Dad and two dogs were in a car accident in North Dakota. My dad and one dog were killed instantly and the other dog was taken to a small local vet clinic. She had broken her pelvis in two places and being that she was 12 years old we weren't sure what to do. We called Dr. Jo and she advised us what our options would be. She was so sympathetic and helpful and within an hour, we received sympathy flowers from them. I am so grateful for everything they have done for us and would highly recommend them to anyone who loves their animals.

They are the BEST here. SUPER friendly staff, Dr, Jo is a reproduction specialist and so down to earth and caring about every dog that comes in. Her husband is an equally amazing Dr. (Dr. Jay) and they have every TOP NOTCH equipment there. Ultrasounds, lasers, reproduction gadgets, it all. As a breeder I wouldn't go anywhere else. As a pet owner you couldn't get better service anywhere else. its clean its reasonable pricing and their surgical techniques are state if the art and honestly no clinic around here can provide what they can provide for you. LOVE this place! I breed English Bulldogs and had a TRILLION questions because my dog was almost killed by another Woodstock vet that claims to be a Bulldog Specialist) and Dr. Jo and Dr Jay are SO patient with my questions and never once gave me the impression my questions or concerns were bothering them. After I talked her ear off she even asked me if I had anything more to ask! GREAT PLACE!!

Can’t think of one negative thing about this vet. I have been bringing my Lily here since she was under a year old and she just turned 3. They have been outstanding for everything. They did her spay in July 2016 and as a fur momma I was worried sick...I had NO REASON to be Dr. Spencer was incredible! They were all finished within an hour and took the best care of Lily the rest of the day. To this day my baby doesn’t even have a surgery scar from the procedure!! I was amaz...ed! Reassured me that they truly are one of the BEST surgical vets in the state. We go twice a year and with them being open until 9pm it helps a LOT. I work on the north shore and live in Lake County, leaving work at 5pm stopping home to pick up Lily and driving to Woodstock I always make it with time to spare! It’s a life saver for me being able to bring her in evening hours...worth the drive 100%. I always feel Lily gets first class care when we bring her here, even though Lily isn’t all that excited to go to the doctor they don’t take it personal and they are still gentle and professional all the time. Besides my husband & myself, AHOW is the only other place I’d trust with the care of my fur baby. See more

We cannot say enough about the Animal Hospital of Woodstock and how they took such good care of our dog. The staff, including Dr. Chris, was absolutely fantastic. In the final days before we said goodbye to our four-legged friend, they were so supportive and since have gone out of their way to help us with this terrible loss. We recently have moved out of the area to Texas, however, if we were to remain in the Woodstock area we would not hesitate to bring our family pet to them once again. They were absolutely phenomenal.

Amazing Veterinary Care! We were referred by our Vet to Animal Hospital of Woodstock. Our daughters puppy had been incorrectly spayed by a shelter out of town, and needed to essentially be re-spayed but with some serious complications due to her prior surgery. The surgery, involving her reproductive as well as digestive tracts was done by Dr. Jason Randall, DVM, with followup care provided by many on staff at the Hospital, specifically including his wife, Dr. Joann Randall, D...VM. As mentioned, the surgery was very complicated, correcting the work improperly done by the shelter’s provider, and also involving alleviating scar tissue build up, and separating digestive tract tissues from reproductive tissue, etc. The professional ability of Dr Jason and Dr. Joanne Randall, and the assisting staff is attested to by the condition and recovery of the puppy. Really, almost equally as important to us, as “parents” of the puppy, however, is the concern, the time, loving attention, and devotion which was evident. This ‘bedside manner’ was incredible to observe and so gratefully received. Having such a facility in our area is such a blessing, and we cannot recommend more strongly the Animal Hospital of Woodstock to anyone with veterinarian needs. See more

My usual clinic unfortunately has banker hours that don’t allow me to get my animals in for care during the week, especially if there’s a sudden concern. I have family and friends that use AHoW for reproductive care, so I thought I’d give them a call when I suspected my cat had a UTI. Not only did they get me in SAME DAY, but they were incredibly polite and accommodating. I’m very impressed with the level of care and compassion. I’ve only worked with Dr. Spencer, but if he is any indication of the rest of the veterinary staff, you can’t go wrong. I’ll definitely be back!

We moved to the area a year and a half ago and struggled to find a new vet that met our needs. When we found AHOW we were nervous at the thought of having another bad experience. We were immediately at ease after our first visit. Each staff person we have met has provided utmost patience, respect, and compassion every single time we needed them. With our sixteen year old pup living out her last days here it was important that we worked with people that would help us make the rest of her time very comfortable. They did just that all the way through her passing. We cannot express our gratitude enough. Thank you very much for all of the hard work you do and every ounce of love and kindness you spread. We need more people like those at AHOW in this world!

I'll never go here again. 4 years ago, they misdiagnosed our cat; by the time we found out it was cancer it was too late. All of the signs were there for them to be able to diagnose liver cancer (elevated blood levels, filled void in x-ray), but they shrugged it of as a temporary sickness and we very indifferent about figuring it out. Not until weeks later, when insisted that thet figure out was wrong, did we get a proper diagnosis. I often wonder if we would still have our buddy Rizza had they caught it sooner.

We are in the process of moving, and we will miss Animal Hospital of Woodstock. The best care we've had for our cats of any place we lived.
We had a cat, Jill, who in her last years was making almost monthly visits as her health deteriorated. Once her vitals were, in the vets words, "Not compatible with life". Jill's fight and the vet and staff's care pulled her back. AHW gave her a dozen lives, not just 9. When it was her time, it was moving to see the staff-like client advocate Elizabeth-crying as hard as we were over her loss.
Another cat, Gary, had a tumor removed that all standard test showed it to be benign, but the vet was not as sure. We consented to additional testing, and it turned out to be a very aggressive cancer. It was sad to lose Gary, but the testing saved him weeks/months of suffering. These vets don't just look at charts and number--they look at the animal and the signs a test might miss.
Good vets, even better people.

The quality of care here is good, but I do feel they push for the most expensive option first. Truly nice people, but they are pricey. They always told me my cats needs rabies shots, so I faithfully did them every year. When I switched vets, I found out it was totally unnecessary since they are indoor cats. If you love your pets but are on a budget, be careful and ask a lot of questions - you might not get the options you need without asking. You may find out you don't HAVE to go straight for the MRI and spend thousands.

This is the only Vet that I trust with my babies. The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful. They truly do care about your pets and go above and beyond. Dr. Jay delivered our puppies via an emergency c-section after hours. They saw us through having to put another dog to sleep after a stroke. Dr. Roberto was amazing when my cat got pancreatitis. He gladly answered all my questions and was generally concerned about my cats well being. You can really see how much he loves animals. But what will keep me loyal (besides all of that) is when my Dad and two dogs were in a car accident in North Dakota. My dad and one dog were killed instantly and the other dog was taken to a small local vet clinic. She had broken her pelvis in two places and being that she was 12 years old we weren't sure what to do. We called Dr. Jo and she advised us what our options would be. She was so sympathetic and helpful and within an hour, we received sympathy flowers from them. I am so grateful for everything they have done for us and would highly recommend them to anyone who loves their animals.

They are the BEST here. SUPER friendly staff, Dr, Jo is a reproduction specialist and so down to earth and caring about every dog that comes in. Her husband is an equally amazing Dr. (Dr. Jay) and they have every TOP NOTCH equipment there. Ultrasounds, lasers, reproduction gadgets, it all. As a breeder I wouldn't go anywhere else. As a pet owner you couldn't get better service anywhere else. its clean its reasonable pricing and their surgical techniques are state if the art and honestly no clinic around here can provide what they can provide for you. LOVE this place! I breed English Bulldogs and had a TRILLION questions because my dog was almost killed by another Woodstock vet that claims to be a Bulldog Specialist) and Dr. Jo and Dr Jay are SO patient with my questions and never once gave me the impression my questions or concerns were bothering them. After I talked her ear off she even asked me if I had anything more to ask! GREAT PLACE!!
