I would HIGHLY recommend this vet clinic! My boyfriend and I are so protective over our little puppy and we were unsure of what vet to use for her spay. After talking with several other people I know who have pets this place kept getting recommended so ultimately this is the place we chose for her surgery. A bit long FYI and recommendation for our Illinois friends as a great and exceptional doctor can now take on more patients!!!* A shout out to Dr. Liv Stolarczyk Kismartoni, DVM, MPH, CVSMT, CCRP, CVA (in the pic with our beloved Ms. Madison) who has been our Ms. Madison's vet since after 2009!**  We LOVE and greatly respect Dr. Liv...so much so...that when she left St. Charles Veterinary Clinic (about 4 blocks from our home right outside our neighborhood) and began practicing at Woodstock Veterinary Clinic...70 miles round trip...we ABSOLUTELY didn't even bat an eye at the distance!*** Ms. Madison, being a small dog with big eyes, short nose, loppy ears and little itty bitty legs (naturally disposed to hip and arthritis issues)...Dr. Liv was very proactive in Maddie's early years to treat her holistically. We unequivocally believe Dr. Liv's love and care of our Madison bears a very good portion as to Maddie's whole and good health at going on 11 yrs old next month!**** Dr. Liv also practices integrative medicine, rehab, acupuncture and chiropractic care! Brought my dog in because he's drinking tons of water to the point that he's vomiting while he's drinking. He's losing weight, losing hair, and falling down the stairs but theu can't find anything wrong with him. Every time I speak with them about the situation they run the same tests over and over and over again and I get no definitive answers as to what is going on with my poor dog. I go to pick up medication for my dog and apparently they ran another test when I wasn't even in the clinic. Yep, same test as the previous visits, without me going into the clinic. They are wonderful if your dog is healthy and going in for a routine check up but if your dog is old and you think it might be dying take it somewhere else. Read Less

I started working there in July. Not only is it the best job I've ever had, the people that work there are so amazing. The veterinarians there truly care about patient care. Going above & beyond what's expected of them. Working with & listening to our clients concerns. Giving our clients hope when they were told there was none. Our veterinarians are passionate about the work they do & constantly continuing their education to keep up with the vastly growing medical field. I couldn't believe how far some of our clients come to see our doctors. From all over Illinois, Wisconsin & Indiana. And just being there for the short time I have I can see why! Our Vet tech & assistants also go above & beyond. Going over everything in detail & making sure our clients leave with no questions. Really giving 110% I could go on & on about how wonderful the rest of our staff is too. I'm part of the CSR (customer service representative) team. We had taken our dog to at least three different veterinarians before finding Dr. Liz. We were told there was no hope for our boy Patch. We had to pick him up to take him out . He would /could not stand or walk on his own.He had many puss oozing & bloody soars. We heard about woodstock & said one more try. Thank God. Dr Liz, poked her head in the door, and said to Patch "you came to the right place" She took several test, sat on the floor with him & us & cried. She wouldn't give up. We can not thank her enough. Not only being a nice person, she's a great vet. Patch is now completely healed. He runs & plays just like a dog should. We can not thank Dr. LIZ enough. Because of her & Woodstock veterinary Clinic. Excellent care. The staff are compassionate and very loving with my cats. I just took a cat in today without making an appointment because he had a severe eye injury, and Dr. Stewart saw him right away and got him started on meds, so we hope we'll be able to save the eye. I came here because my previous vet couldn't get my dog in for three days when he had some tummy issues. They got him in right away and the vet was awesome with him. Our previous vet retired; whom we adored, and the Animal Doctor took over the practice.  The personal atmosphere changed and there was never a consistent vet on site.  We felt we were treated as an inconvenience and ATM, not a patient.  Moving forward, a new pup came into our lives and we were seeking a local vet and Dr. Carmichael was highly recommended.  Our first office visit was amazing, the staff was so pleasant and helpful.  They offer a wonderful puppy package which is worth every penny - we had to have a minor emergency visit due to worms and the staff and Dr. Carmichael were on top of it - Our second visit was just as awesome as the first.  If you are looking for a new vet, this is the place to go! Our Lucy tore her ACL in May. We usually go to Dundee Animal Hospital. We called on Monday, but couldn't get an appointment until Friday. A friend recommended Woodstock, so we called on Wednesday morning, and were given an appointment in one hour. We saw Dr. Stewart, who examined her and took x-rays. She was scheduled for surgery the next morning. We picked her up on Friday. Surgery went well. However, our Lucy is a nervous Nellie, to say the least. She was suffering from PTSD, and cried and cried. Concerned, we called and Dr. Stewart told us to bring her in right away. He felt that her issue was more anxiety, but gave her an injection for pain just in case, some anti anxiety meds, and best of all, his email address in case we needed to get in touch with him over the long holiday weekend. We came to WVC 2 months ago when our 11 year old beagle was diagnosed by our long time vet with a mast cell Tumor on his lower eyelid. The original vet said our only option was to see an oncologist. That unfortunately was not an option for us financially, so we were referred to Dr. Stewart for a second opinion. He immediately gave us a treatable option that was easier on the wallet and easier on our fur baby Jack. Dr. Stewart surgically removed the tumor and Jack looks like a million bucks and is so much happier! We are so happy with the results and Dr. Stewart's kindness and empathy. It all started on April 29th when my dog Suzy started acting different. Being new to the area I brought her to the Woodstock Veterinary clinic. They looked her over, took her temperature checked her pulse and said she's fine. We can find nothing wrong with her. I thanked them and paid my bill and left. However she was still acting strange, different and now drinking tons of water emptying her bowl at every time she drank. So I brought her back on May 12th saying something is definitely wrong with my dog. They took blood samples and fecal and urine samples and called me the next day to say everything is fine, however we found a few white cells in her urine and will give you antibiotics to help clear that up. I said she's drinking tons of water there's something wrong. They said we can't find anything wrong with her so I took her home and came back the next day for the antibiotics. On May 19th when I came home at lunch from work my dog had been very I'll vomiting all over the house and unable to walk without great difficulty. I brought her back to the vet at the behest of the office manager because she said they had a specialist there, an internal medicine Veterinarian who they wanted to look at Suzy. I must interject now that I had left a message on their answering machine when I came home and saw my dog so ill that I was Furious that they couldn't find anything wrong with my dog and she's obviously dying. I called another vet in Woodstock that asked if I would get the medical records and I said yes I would call. It's when I called to get the medical records there they put the office manager on the phone and she told me about the Internal Medicine specialist that was there. I met the doctor we managed to get the dog up on the examining table she weighed 74 and a half pounds and he was very concerned. I would like to do an ultrasound. I said yes anything. During the ultrasound examination he said her heart is completely encased in fluid and that dark spot is a tumor on her right ventricle, she can't get enough blood and is suffering greatly. The first two visits they tell me everything is fine even though I'm telling them something is wrong I've had this dog 10 years and she's acting very strange. It's only on the third visit when she's obviously dying that they notice oh her heart is encased in fluid and she has a tumor on her left ventricle. I told the doctor she needed to be put down right away as she was suffering greatly, however I was saddened they didn't give her a sedative, so she would be sleeping when they administered the euthanasia shot, which I thought was rather heartless as I'm already getting billed for three visits how much more could a sedative cost? Their ability to diagnose is severely lacking. If you love your pet as most people do I would suggest you go somewhere else where they have a clue and will listen to a client, when the client comes in and says there's something wrong with my pet,I've had this pet 10 years and it's acting very very differently all of a sudden. This is one amazing practice. My bet dr Liv moved to this practice and I needed to get one of my babies in for a check up. Dr Liv was not available so I had to see dr Stuart. At first i was nervous about seeing another doctor because dr Liv has been my vet for 5 years. But dr Stuart was very understanding of my concerns and thoroughly read through my pets chart and even talked to dr Liv before seeing my pet. He is so gentle and so kind. Just an awesome guy. Dr Stuart and Dr. Liv are both amazing doctors. I drive 1 hour to see dr Liv and dr Stewart because I trust them and they are amazing with all my animals. They are there for my babies anytime day or night. They do wonderful work and the pricing is very reasonable. They don't do unnecessary testing and they always have your pets best interest and health in mind. I will follow dr Liv wherever she goes Read Less

I absolutely love everyone at the Woodstock Vet Clinic.  We had a dog that one day started having epileptic seizures.  While learning everything about what causes seizures, how to handle them, and what information to provide to the office; every single person took the time to stay calm with me when I wasn't and get me in immediately so our babe could be seen.  Sadly we did have to put our girl down due to her seizure activities, and when I tearfully wrote the staff an e-mail we received a beautiful card directly from our Doctor.  I highly recommend bringing your loved four-legged (or less) family members to this facility. Although the other doctors are great too, Dr Govic is terrific.  She is thorough and explains what is going on in a normal way that you can understand.  She changed the quality of life for our Boston rescue with funky knees.  Even though she does surgery, she explained that might not be the best course of action in our case and prescribed some meds to help with her mobility and comfort.  Now our rescue Boston is running around and playing with the other Boston!  Yay!! Dr. Shaw is the best! I've been taking my Bulldog here since I got him and we couldn't be happier. Last year Dr. Shaw performed surgery on Barkley for a luxating patella and the results were phenomenal. Dr. Shaw is very popular so call ahead for your regular visits but sometimes he can squeeze you in for emergencies if not then you won't be disappointed with the other Dr's. I've seen a couple of the other Dr's there and they were all  just as great. There are plenty of vets in my area and this one is a 40 minute drive for me so that should say something about how knowledgeable they are, especially with Bulldogs. Read Less
