Yorkville Animal Hospital is our go-to for veterinary care. I have had animals all my life and have been to various vets in the area. As far as costs, it is very affordable. They try to do their best in offering affordable options. We bring our 2 dogs in for their annual physicals and vaccinations. Everything is online, so it is very easy to know when to bring "fecal to lab" or when they are due for heart worm medications. Sure, you can give them monthly heartworm, but they have 6 month injections as well which is better for us so we don't have to worry about forgetting. Neither of our dogs seem nervous when we bring them there as the vets are very kind and compassionate. They treat the dogs like they are just petting/cuddling but are really doing a physical so they never get too anxious about the visit.February is dental month, so all dental services are 20% off. We try to keep up with brushing their teeth, but busy lives happen. We brought them in last February and it was a bit expensive, but a good reminder to stay up to date on brushing their teeth at home. Prevention is the best medicine. A bit expensive as in $400 or so for 2 dogs. I'm not sure how that compares to other vets. This was 2 cleanings, anesthesia for 2 dogs, IV fluids for one dog, urine catheter for 1 dog, dental extractions for 2 dogs, and various other things, so maybe not that bad after all. Most recently, we brought in our cat for his ailing health. He was unable to eat less and less. A visit with 2 x-rays and an exam was $326. A few days later we brought him back and it was $140 for an ultrasound, an antibiotic injection, a steroid injection, IV fluids, and an exam. Second visit was much more affordable, just depends on what tests you have done. Based on the affordable second visit, I feel as though the ultrasound may have been included gratis. Human x-rays, cash price, can be $80-100 so I still feel as though $326 is justified. Unfortunately, despite all the treatments, we had to bring in our cat for euthanasia for a worsening condition. It was very affordable, $65 for euthanasia, $80 for cremation, $12 for paw prints. The vet that helped us through the euthanasia was Dr. Tyler Johnston and he was very compassionate. At no point did we feel rushed and he was very understanding. He said he has a special interest in hospice care, in helping elderly pets be comfortable in their last days. While emotional, it was surprisingly easier than we would have thought for the actual event. We have seen several different vets as the clinic seems to operate like a walk-in care. You can make appointments, but it is not needed. They are open until 8 pm during the week, so it's great for people working a "9 to 5" during the week, you can still get in during those times. Some of the negative reviews seem like misunderstandings or a lack of education in the veterinary field. Our pets are always treated with utmost respect and care and I highly recommend Yorkville Animal Hospital. Read Less
