There is a reason why this place is the cheapest in town for animal care. There is a reason why the turn over rate at his practice is so high. Twice working for Lane Benziger I have wittnseesed him being violent with animals. He has anger issues and has even struck me once ( but to be “ fair “ he meant to punch the animal I was restraining due to it biting his finger while attempting to give it oral medicine ) I always found it odd that he had an elaborate back story for why all 40 + people quit whether it was them being drug addicts or stealing from him. Of course I fell for his sob stories ( just like the other staff ) until I began to witness his violent and aggressive tendencies. People, look at the reviews below! For every reply he makes to them discredits him even more. Also, only because I don’t want people going through what I and many others have, DO NOT WORK FOR HIM. You are only a glorified janitor/ security guard making minimum wage. There are so many better jobs out there that will value your time put into a company! And if you want to work with animals Northwood and SAVC would be a much better for you. After I quit Lane Benziger sent me texts calling me stupid and accusing me of doing drugs because I put his office key on his computer desk and not on his office desk. He is a horrible boss, business owner, and a sketchy veterinarian. In mine and many other opinions, if he doesn’t get his license taken away he shoul AT LEAST resign and work under someone who has the patience and mental capacity to run a practice so that he can take notes. March 18 2018 Dr Lane, to your response, I am embarrassed for you honestly. As I had stated in texts ( which I still have from you ) I do not do drugs and am not in any form of medications. I find it odd that the only time you accused me of this is when I quit your practice. Even more odd, you would always say how you knew the last person that quit was on drugs as well after they quit. If you had this feeling, why hire these people because it surely isn’t out of the kindness of your heart. It’s not a matter of “ kids these days don’t want to work “ , it’s a matter of being a professional at all times and not lashing out and hitting animals or your staff when you get bit. It’s a matter of not making false accusations unless you have the documentation to back it up. Oh, and that “ bank loaner “? That was a Veteran Home loan for my husband who who served in the military. The VA loaner said never in his 15 years has he ever dealt with such a unprofessional person like yourself who who has no regards for our military memebers. I know you may have though in your head that it was some type of revenge and that we would’ve have gotten our home, but we did! Point blank, you need to practice patience. You need help and I will be contacting the BBB about this since you are making false accusations about me. It’s realy screwed up that you have to slander about every person that quits your office because you are incompetent of teaching people how to handle animals/surgery equipment without belittling them. Maybe after 42 times it isn’t the employee who has learning capabilites, but it is the one teaching. Also, just in case you are hard of reading, my application I gave you clearly states I do have my high school diploma and I am a certified Pharmacy Technician and certified in Early Childhood Development. Also, Lane Benziger is lying when stating that I ask him to tell the Real Estate agent that I am currently employed by him. When working with real estate they need a verbal or signed statement complying that you worked there in the last 3 years from the business owner which Dr Lane failed to due to his deflated ego or incompetence. We have been taking our dogs here since he took over the office and I can say from personal experience that he is an outstanding vet. He takes the time to thoroughly examine your animals and extra time to answer all of your questions and concerns. Our dogs have always loved him from day one!!! We have taken our English Mastiff to a different vet to get her fixed, only because it was a little less expensive, and almost couldn't get her back in the door. She goes in his office tail wagging, giving kisses and offering her paw to him. As to Jon F's comment about him hitting dogs before putting them down..... ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!! He practically cried with me when we had to put our dog down. This man has such a love for ALL animals!!!! He is a good, honest, Christian man and if you ever have any issue with treatment methods or anything just discuss it with him. Our regular vet is semi-retired and has limited days so we opted to go to this clinic when our dog was having some skin related issues that were getting worse and involved his ears draining which we were not sure if these things were all related or if he had a few issues going on at once. We waited a little but Lane explained to us the reason for the wait. He was very professional and took his time caring for our dog. We never once felt rushed or that our dogs issue was not important. We were asked several times if we had questions and were told to call if we had questions. Hats off to the aid John who had to restrain our irritable dog the entire time Lane was accessing and working on him. We also felt the cost was reasonable for what all we had done. Due to our regular vet having limited hours, we will for sure bring our animals back here. All the stuff we encounted on our visit were nice and professional. Great job! Read Less

Great personality, loving and obviously invested in his work. It goes without saying, if Dr. Lane was in it for the $ he'd do things a lot differently. His office, equipment and presentation is one of modest means. I trust his judgement. A side note... I honestly would believe my dog slaps the doctor around before I'd believe the doctor busts the animals in the face prior to putting them down. Come on now! RIDICULOUS!!! Dr. Lane is amazing, our baby will be going back again toda for his check up. Tiger loves it there, and Dr. Lane is always loving and caring to him as is his staff, he gets down on the floor hugs kisses etc out dog lets gim know he is safe and always makes sure he is comfortable and enjoyed his visit. Some people are here to spread hate, I would never think once of any wrong doing of Dr. LANE If you go there you woulf see the love he has for our fur babies. Read Less

I've been taking the canines in my pack here for 4+ years. Dr. Lane Benzinger has treated my four legged kids with nothing but love and compassion, while simultaneously providing them with medical care second to none. He's educated, knowledgeable, and confident which may be misconstrued as something other than what it actually is....someone that excels at what they do. The Doc isn't afraid to speak up and let you know if you are failing to do your part in providing the care you should be at home. Teeth not getting cleaned regularly? He's going to tell you about it. Overfeeding your 'child', leading to an overweight condition stressing joints? You're going to hear about that too? Ears not cleaned. Yep, he's gonna let you know. Those are only a few examples, but I can go on and on. The point is, if you want someone who is going to blow sunshine up your butt and tell you everything is perfect just to keep the revenue rolling in go somewhere else. To start off I take ALL my animals to Dr Lane. I respect him and his knowledge. He is straight forward and sometimes tells you things you do not want to hear but that is what it takes to make people listen. He is always loving and gentle with my dogs. Please do NOT take your dog here!A friend of mine used to work there, and the owner, Lane Benziger, frequently punches dogs in the face just before euthanizing them.That is just one example of his disgusting behavior I've heard about him.I have no idea why the owner of this place ever became a veterinarian, since he obviously does not love animals.If you love your dog, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.If you absolutely must go here to euthanize your dog,INSIST on being in the room.  Do NOT let Lane near your dog alone. Dr. Lane has always given respectful care to all our animals. My parents had a 17 year old Golden Retriever and he continued to promote her health and dignity when other vets would have just given up due to her age. He takes time and answers questions, and remembers your pets. Couldn't ask for a better, more caring vet. Read Less
