I brought my kitten here because she wasn’t eating/going potty and they got me in that day. They have the nicest staff and I never questioned whether or not my kitten was in good hands. I love bringing my animals in. The staff is wonderful and treat us and our fur babies very well. Just a few months ago we had to make a difficult decision to let our Rottweiler Sophie cross the Rainbow Bridge. Dr. Busick took numerous calls from me over the course of a week to try and answer any questions that I had. Dr. McQueen was on staff when we came in and was more then amazing with my teenage daughter along with my husband and myself. It was a terribly sad situation that was made slightly easier by the staff. I see many complaints about the prices, however I feel that they are incredibly reasonable and discussed before we make any decisions which I appreciate. Dr. McQueen and staff were very helpful to me during the recent illness of my cat Owl. I did not have the money for the expensive testing they wanted to do, so Dr. McQueen helped me in other ways so we could figure out what was wrong with her. Dr. McQueen took numerous phone calls from me during that difficult two weeks and she was there to help me make the difficult decision to put her down. Vet didn't even listen to my pets heart until I questioned the care my pet was receiving. She came in the room, saw a small amount of flea dirt and spent the entire time searching and found 1 flea. After she left and the tech came back in my response was "That's all the vet is going to do is search for a flea?!" The vet was quick to return and listen to all my concerns after that. Over the past 6 months, I have had NUMEROUS discrepancies over the prices of medication for my cat who receives subcutaneous fluids daily due to kidney function. The price was never the same. (and I was coming for refills every 2 weeks!!) Overall disappointed, but i will say without determination from dr. Eddelman (whom has never seen my pet, I just spoke with him over the phone) My cat would not be alive today. I am forever grateful to him. Read Less

Did not have a good experience here at all. My dog is not the most well behaved dog when it comes to coming to the vet. They wouldn't work with her at all and prescribed her "doggy downers" as I call them and we were told not to come back unless she was on them. They wouldn't even weigh her with me in the room. Took her to a completely different area away from me and my dog just isn't comfortable with that, and neither am I. Which is where her behavior issues happen, when she is around strangers and I am not there. Just didn't have a good feeling about it at all. I was new to the area last year and I found South Anderson Vet. It is the only place I would take my pets. My pets love to see their favorite assistant Sarah. Dr Eddleman was very patient and compassionate while advising us on our options for our little old dog. He gave us solid advice without trying to influence us one way or the other. The only ethics that motivate Dr. Veronica Busick is money. Please take your animals to Middletown Animal Hospital. Dr. Shockley literally just done the same procedure for $1500 less than what South Anderson wanted. That's a huge savings for my family and animals.Read Less

I really enjoyed our visit to the vet today, Tonye was so friendly and professional, made us and our big fur baby feel comfortable, was informative , patient, and loving as was our Dr Busick! We learned new information from the Dr today, and was so glad to get a complete check up for the dog, completing all vaccines and receiving his tag. I can honestly say that with out Dr Eddleman my Mini wouldn't be with me today. He went above and beyond with her for the last month and I/we couldn't be more blessed. My Daughter and Grandaughter who had a appt for their cat, (Teddy) receptionist was very nice and informative but when they went in the back the staff was not concerned or caring for the Cat and seemed to not do the right diagnose for the Cat, it came across all they wanted was to chock on a Bill and once they got a agreement for the Bill then they sorta cared about Teddy, The Dr. (Cary Petterson) was very confusing as my Daughter told me, first the Vet said Teddy's ears were fine but when they got the Report Card of the outcome for Teddy it stated he needed antibiotic for Ears, but the Vet said he didn't need it, the attendant who did the report of why my Daughter and Grandaughter were there (Tonye) didn't seem to act very caring towards Teddy either. I told my Daughter this IS NOT the way the staff is usually in treating and caring for any animal, they are normally VERY CARING people and do their job at diagnosing what is wrong with your Pet. I can not say enough good things about the vets and staff at SAVC. They were helpful and great about accommodating my dogs aversion to other animals. They neutered my dog Buck a month ago. When he had a complication they took care of it immediately. When he refused to stay calm and let himself heal (Buck is a large dog with a ton of energy) they helped us with that as well. The staff made a surgery, that I was a nervous wreck about, so much easier to both Buck and I. In fact next week I am bringing my daughters dogs in to be fixed as well. Read Less

they charged me 880.00 for a c section on my cat..said she needed surgery right now or her and babies would die..i never got to talk to vet..only vet tect..had no choice..so i left her and called in 2 hours.they said she hasn't had surgery yet..what!!! so i was lied to..they finally called me 2 hours after that..all babies died but 1.. they took advantage of my heart strings..please please go somewhere else..nobody in waiting room and now i know why..they only want money..no caring for ur pets..i was ripped off..now i hv to sell my stuff to pay for some bills..i hv no job..no income tax check..nothing..this place DOES NOT care!!!!!! I'm new to the area and with some online research I called South Anderson Vet Clinic for a nail trim to my Great Dane. First I asked if they were equipped to do a nail trim on a Dane who is very scared of the clippers, the sound, and the feeling. The voice on the other end quoted me 13 dollars and some change. We arrive at the clinic, the receptionists are both very nice and friendly to myself and my dog. A tech comes and takes my dog with no instruction into another room. I've never been separated from a pet for a simple nail trim. I could hear my dog cry out 2-3 times, breathing heavily, and a techs voice chastise my dog for fighting the nail trim. When she was returned to me I was told my charge was $25 because they needed 2 extra techs to help hold her. They are not equipped to cut a large dogs nails. When I got her home and inspected her nails they are mostly torn and cracked. Worst nail trim experience ever. From now on I will make the 2 hour drive home for nail trims to my wonderful vet who trims her nails effortlessly and flawlessly...by herself. Read Less

We transferred our dogs' records to South Anderson a couple yrs. ago, after Dr. Berger (R.I.P.) fell ill & retired. South Anderson Vet Clinic has no regard for anything but your cash, & wastes an entire afternoon waiting for service. We have (4) dachshunds, 3 are rescues, & they give us absolutely NO break on prices for rescuing animals - plus, the front desk workers are rude & have little knowledge of medications. Our oldest mini-doxie recently needed a med for elevated liver enzymes, & the RX simply read to administer 2x per day, so I gave her equal parts 2x per day, with her meals. After web-searching, I found instructions that said it NEEDED to be given after fasting. I asked the front desk ""help"", who replied that the dr. wasn't in, & it didn't MATTER when it was given. After the 3rd round of the med, our doxie was supposed to have a liver panel done (which we asked for), but she was given a $130 FULL chem/CBC (not needed) & the dr. said that the results of the liver med weren't as good as expected...due to the COMPLETELY WRONG med instructions (it is to be given in the AM, an hour before any meal, which we are now doing)!! These people are after your money, only - especially if you love your animals & the personnel know that you will spend what is needed to keep them healthy. We've noticed that they are not nearly as busy as when we first started bringing our dogs here, now we know why. We will be transferring our pets to another vet clinic ASAP, avoid this place like the plague! Read Less
