I took my dog there after a couple nights of vomiting and not eating nor drinking. Northwood was the only place that was open at the time of night and close by. The staff was great, and they were super kind to my dog and us. The doctor (cannot remwmber her name) came and she was super nice and she did what she had to do. After doing the exam, she explained what she thought was wrong. They came in with the treatment plan and it was way out of our price range (almost $500 just for the exam and the X-ray. Not for anything else if he were to need more care.) when I told her if there was any payment plans, if we could pay half of it up front and pay the rest the next time I got paid, they told me that they didn’t offer any payment plans, and they needed the entire payment upfront. So I had to opt out and just give him fluids and a shot to keep him from vomiting. Thankfully, that seemed to get him back in the spirits.
I’m thankful for the staff and their 24hr care they have, but a bit upset that they were going to turn us away completely if we didn’t have the money upfront. And if I did have the money for the X-ray and it was something more serious, they probably would have turned us away because I defiantly don’t have the money to have emergency surgery.
Also, had to call them back for a billing issue (paid with debit and the charged my account twice) and while on hold for ten minutes, I heard they offered a credit where you could make low monthly payments so they could treat your dog. Why wasn’t that mentioned at the time of my visit? I could have done the X-ray and would have let them care for my dog, because they are really good. But sadly, It seems they care a lot about money.
