I am a HUGE fan of Banfield hospital. Four years ago my cat threw up 7x in one night so I took him to Banfield. My bill (for office visit, blood work and saline) came out to $376. WHOA! You might be thinking I'm complaining, but keep reading.I heard that they had a wellness plan for pets so I looked into it and I purchased it. Every month, I pay $25 and my cat has free office visits all the time, two blood tests a year, two fecal exams a year, physicals, ALL his shots, AND a dental! Let me mention that the dental alone almost costs $400 and this plan costs $300 and includes everything I just mentioned, so you can do the math.I got a puppy last year and we signed her up for the plan immediately. We paid $32 for her every month for the first year but it included ALLLLL her puppy shots. That could become so expensive. She also had free office visits and her ovariectomy was included. Now that she's one she went on the $24 plan, which does not include the ovariectomy. The service is always fantastic. We get reminder calls and emails. We get phone calls when shots are almost due, and most of the people working there know who I am and my pets names if I just pop in. It's incredible!Every time we check out and get the receipt, it amazes us. There is a column with "total expenses" and then a column for "how much you paid. I kid you not, we usually average around $300-500 for "total expenses" and it usually comes out to $0 for "how much you paid".Please, sign up. If you care about your pets but think that healthcare is expensive, it's really, really reasonable here. As I mentioned earlier with my cat getting sick and throwing up 7x, if I had that plan when I took him there, it would've been completely free except for the saline they gave him for hypovolemia.
