I took my toy poodle here to East Side Animal Hospital get an Ultra sound. It was to be done on her upper extremity, as per my Veterinary Doctor instructions in Florida (I just moved to Evansville)... To check her lungs heart and upper areas. I had a note from him telling this doctor exactly where it was to be done (I have a copy of to prove my statement). Instead Dr. Thompson did the lower extremity. When my Vet in Florida got the report he said it was done in the wrong area, and was useless. I paid about $300+ for the test. He offered no refund so I could get it done again. He even called my Florida Vet 3 times, but the wrong area was done. So I am out the money, my poodle needs the test and I cannot afford to do it again. Please dont have any testing done HERE. If you make arrangements to have your pet boarded over Xmas and want to feel safe your pet is taken care of; DON'T GO TO EAST SIDE ANIMAL HOSPITAL. I was quoted a price of $58.00. I told the receptionist where all my sister's dog's shots were given in 9.16 several days prior. When I brought the dog in so my 81 year old sister(who is in a nursing home) could spend 3 days WITH ME, the receptionist said with a snotty response, it will be 150.00; not 58.00. We require a fecal test and border cough shot. Had the receptionist taken the time to read the report, my sister's dog had both the shot and FECAL test in September 2016. I have NEVER had trouble with the techs or vets. This non caring receptionist doesn't know her job and has a chip on her shoulder. I will never take my animals to a place with a receptionist who treated me like she did and ruined my sister's Xmas. I have to choose a STAR, BUT NONE for this type of negativity and nastiness. The other colleague who gave me the price initially, just sat there. I TOTALLY RESENT THE RECEPTIONIST'S BEHAVIOR AND LACK OF LOOKING AT THE REPORT. Dr Stewart is a very compassionate doctor and made me feel I was doing the right thing with my little Dewey. The front desk and the tech Kelsie were also very compassionate. This is the place to go with your precious fur babies. They all listened and took time to explain things to me, and I truly felt they cared. In my time of sorrow, they all made things better. I knew my dog had a urinary track infection. Took her to east side animal hospital. They called me and told me they found nothing wrong with her, i was at work at the time so i paid over the phone and he went to pick her up. When he got there he said they had him pay more money and I was confused because I had already paid. I called them and they told me they were going to send out a sample to another place to check it. No one called me to let me know or even discuss other options. So they said because of the misunderstanding they were going to pay him back and send out the results anyway. A couple weeks later I go to check on the results. They had no idea what I was talking about. I took her to another vet in Newburgh, they said she had one of the worse infections they have ever seen. Gave her 3 weeks of antibiotics and want to see her back to run more tests after the meds. ESAH was double the money with no results. The other vet actually took care of my dog which is all i ever wanted. The owner of ESAH called me back once I called to let them know what was found and all he kept saying was people make mistakes. I understand that but this is my baby. Her infection was so bad it could have killed her. All i wanted was her taken care of. Thats all i asked for.Read Less

I had to take my cat Butterball in there to be put down about 2 weeks ago. Before that, we tried different things to keep him comfortable but his time was up. The entire staff was very compassionate as I made this difficult decision. This cat had been with me for 13 years. About a week after, I received a sympathy card from them. That meant alot to me. Absolute best Vet care I have ever had. They provide for my 10 year old Rat Terrier and my 1.5 year old Mini Australian Shepherd.I have 100% confidence in Dr. Stewart as their Doctor, Stacy as their Tech, and Jordan to great us when we arrive. I used them to for boarding 4 days. People seemed nice enough. The place looked clean. I dropped off our GSD with food and toys. Paid 15 extra a day for play time. Picked her up she smelled like a pound dog. Not pleased. They did offer a bath. None of my dogs have every smelled that bad. She must have kept her in the pin the entire time. This time when we went out of town we took her to Princeton to be kenneled. She came back fat happy and clean. It did not smell like they just bathed her she smelled the same way we dropped her off. That tells me she was kennel and taking out to play and potty which is what I expected. I will not be using the side animal hospital again even though it's a lot farther taking her to Princeton and she'll have to stay little bit longer because it's harder to pick her up it's well worth itRead Less

Thank you to Dr. Steward and her team. I love supporting business where you feel like a valued customer. The staff throws a party when your animal walks in and guides you though the entire visit. They always offer to get an estimate of any services and I have not ever felt pressured. I have a sporting highly active breed and he developed a limp working in the field. I loved her approach of joint supplements and worked over his joints making sure it wasn't more serious. While most vets could have took advantage and over medicated, I appreciated the approach of monitoring and giving something to support long term.I would recommend this vet to anyone in the area looking for great service, reasonable pricing, and a true love of animals. I have taken all of my babies to Dr. Thompson for 20 years. He is not only the most incredible doctor, he and Bri (his practice manager and daughter) are like family. We LOVE them. Dr. Stewart is always wonderful to see as well. I just can't say how incredible they are. My husband and I are new to the Evansville area. We have a one year old German Shorthaired Pointer named Booker. We had heard about several good vets in the area, and after a disastrous experience at Village East, decided to try here. I am very pleased to say that we have found all we could have asked for in East Side Animal Hospital!Now be warned, the only drawback is that it is a little pricey. On point with our high end vet in Indianapolis (Broad Ripple Animal Clinic). BUT if you value customer service and personal attention it is worth EVERY penny. Every single person I met or even observed in the clinic was pleasant, professional, and went above and beyond. One of the ladies at the front desk went and got Booker a bowl of water while we were waiting because he was hot. It was very sweet.We saw Dr. Stewart and Rachel the vet tech and loved them both! Booker needed rabies and bordatella vaccines updated as well as flea/tick and heartworm medications. My husband used to be a vet tech and has preferences on these kinds of things, and Rachel very patiently explained to me all of their options for topical, pill, and collar flea/tick meds so that we could make the decision best for us. We got two estimates. One for the check up, vaccines, meds, and pre neuter bloodwork and urinalysis, the other for a neuter and microchip. Both were reasonable and were easy to understand line by line. Dr. Stewart was awesome. It's easy to love a place with people who genuinely love your dog. Whether yours is the first or the last dog of the day (our appointment was 4pm on a Friday) the enthusiasm and compassion is clearly apparent. Dr Stewart and Rachel had fun running through all of Booker's commands like sit, stay, down, and shake while feeding him Zuke's treats.
