Every dog my family has owned has come here, from the time I was young until now at age 59. Our 16 year old dog, who had her first visit one day after we brought her home from VHS, was euthanized yesterday by Dr Goedde, in the ultimate act of care, easing our baby out of the pain she was in. I have heard many good things about this office, so I called needing some advice/direction to best help/comfort our family pet during a time of distress. The secretary seemed to be very kind as she first answered, but proceeded to be very insulting and condescending in her responses. It has to be said.  My wife and I are big time dog lovers. We have had several dogs over the years (all of them rescue dogs) and have loved every one of them.  Basically, they are our kids.  One of the most important tasks of a responsible dog owner is finding a good veterinarian and we have researched quite a few--both in Florida and Indiana.  That being said, I think Dr. Goedde at North Park Veterinary Clinic may very well be the best that we have ever found.  In addition to obvious competency, Dr. Goedde always takes whatever time is necessary to thoroughly assess her patent's health and physical condition.  Moreover, if some type of action or treatment is felt to be necessary, Dr. Goedde takes time to research what course of action is most appropriate.  Unlike many vets that we have encountered, Dr. Goedde keeps current on the most recent research and puts that to use when treating her furry patients. I have read many reviews of veterinarians where the reviewer goes on and on about how friendly and personable the vet and staff are and how concerned and accommodating they are with both the pet and owner. This is important and Dr. Goedde certainly meets and exceeds this criteria, but that is not sufficient for what my wife and I are looking for in a veterinarian.  For us, Dr. Goedde covers ALL the bases. After much investigation, I truly believe that there is no better veterinarian in the Evansville area than Dr. Goedde, and North Park Veterinary Clinic is the place where we will go as long as we own a pet. We had our first visit at North Park Veterinary after receiving a recommendation from a friend. We rescued a mixed breed dog and brought him there for a check-up. Everyone was very friendly, that doctor was very thorough and compassionate. She gave advice as though she were treating her own pet. As we walked threw the door, We felt welcomed by the staff our dogs settled down +sat on floor. As our appointment we was glad we did not have to wait long, The Dr.came in room + checked out our 2 dogs he was gentle with them, he took them back +gave the shots, then brought them back into the room, Now if they needed surgery feel at ease there is nothing to get upset about (The Drs know what they are doing .) everything came out O K. Also if u dont understand something My Dr. will explain + u wont feel stupid. Over all i was satisfied.and i know many others will be to.I recommend North Park Veterinary Care to anyone. One of the best bedside manner ever! My family has been going to Dr. Goedde for 8 years now and she is AMAZING! She cries when I have to put down a dog, offers to help with training, answers all my questions, and even gave me her personal email to keep her updated when my dog was sick. I cannot say enough excellent things about her! I love Rhonda too. She's always amazing when I call up needing advice on if my dog needs to see a vet immediately or can wait. My dog was recently attacked by two bigger dogs, and was pretty much torn to shreds. Doc did surgery to put her back together, stayed with her most of the night, and took time to answer all of my questions afterwards. The follow up care was incredible. Everyone was so nice and understanding of my distress. And the bill was extremely reasonable as well. I've been taking my dogs there for quite a while now and have always been very happy, but this raised my opinion even further. I will take my pets there as long as they are open for business. I'm so happy with Dr. Nelson and the fantastic help that he's given our dog Louie.  Despite having to go through several surgeries and lots of poking and prodding our dog still loves to visit Dr. Nelson.  His staff is so kind, the office so nice and the care given so good.  I wouldn't think of taking Louie anywhere else.
