I live in the country, and a stray cat has been visiting my house for about 3 months now (about every 3 or 4 days). Most recently, it was badly injured and I decided if it returned and I could catch it, I would schedule an appointment to have it checked out and get it treated, vaccinated and neutered.
I was able to catch it on Friday (June 23), called and explained the situation and was scheduled for Monday (June 26) at 3pm.
When I arrived I was asked to fill out new patient paperwork, which I did - I indicated he was a male, long haired tabby cat and was intact. I then turned in the paperwork and sat down. About 5 minutes later, the lady at the front desk begins asking me if he's a canine, what his breed is and if he's neutered. I'm not sure why I filled out the paperwork if I'm going to be asked the questions again.
Then, when we were taken in the room, I was asked if this was a well visit and I explained the situation again. That he was a stray, I didn't know anything about him and I wanted to be sure he was healthy and taken care of.
Immediately I was asked his age, if he was on any medications and basically scolded because he was not neutered.
The tech left and got the vet then.
Dr. Gupta walked in, asked the same questions again - how old is he, is he on medications, why isn't he neutered?
He used 2 cotton swabs to wipe his ears and said he would give him an antibiotic shot for his wounds. That was it. He didn't offer blood work, vaccines, or listen to his heart or lungs, nothing. Less than 5 minutes. His last words were "you need to get him neutered".
I know that! But I want to be sure he's healthy and well.
I will not be returning to Aboite Vet Hospital and will definitely not recommend it to anyone! Read Less
