I live in the country, and a stray cat has been visiting my house for about 3 months now (about every 3 or 4 days). Most recently, it was badly injured and I decided if it returned and I could catch it, I would schedule an appointment to have it checked out and get it treated, vaccinated and neutered. I was able to catch it on Friday (June 23), called and explained the situation and was scheduled for Monday (June 26) at 3pm. When I arrived I was asked to fill out new patient paperwork, which I did - I indicated he was a male, long haired tabby cat and was intact. I then turned in the paperwork and sat down. About 5 minutes later, the lady at the front desk begins asking me if he's a canine, what his breed is and if he's neutered. I'm not sure why I filled out the paperwork if I'm going to be asked the questions again. Then, when we were taken in the room, I was asked if this was a well visit and I explained the situation again. That he was a stray, I didn't know anything about him and I wanted to be sure he was healthy and taken care of. Immediately I was asked his age, if he was on any medications and basically scolded because he was not neutered. The tech left and got the vet then. Dr. Gupta walked in, asked the same questions again - how old is he, is he on medications, why isn't he neutered? He used 2 cotton swabs to wipe his ears and said he would give him an antibiotic shot for his wounds. That was it. He didn't offer blood work, vaccines, or listen to his heart or lungs, nothing. Less than 5 minutes. His last words were "you need to get him neutered". I know that! But I want to be sure he's healthy and well. I will not be returning to Aboite Vet Hospital and will definitely not recommend it to anyone! Read Less

We had taken Tolo (our German Shepard) to a couple different vets, as he was having trouble getting up and walking, even though he was still young. They would tell us it was his muscles or his joints, or maybe be he’s growing too fast. Finally, we heard about Aboite Animal Clinic. We made an appointment and took him. Dr. Gupta met us outside and asked to see him walk. Then asked to see him sit. He looked at me and said “I need to take x-rays to be absolutely sure, but he has a torn ACL”. Within 2 days the did x-rays. Dr. Gupta was correct. He showed us the X-rays explained everything in detail. Made sure we understood everything that was going to happen and everything we needed to do. Tolo needed surgery and needed to stay for a few days. We were able to take his favorite things to make him more comfortable. We were able to visit. Dr. Gupta and his staff are amazing. They all care so much about the animals at there clinic. They would call and check on him after we brought him home. Including the Doc. Other vets wanted him sedated when he came into the office because he a big dog. Not Dr. Gupta. They love Tolo and treat him with respect and love and Tolo loves going to see them. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my animals. I have a kitty who likes to get into trouble and eat things that he shouldn’t. He ended up ingesting one of his toys. My vet told me there was nothing she could do because it was a Friday evening. Saturday morning after being turned away from another clinic, I found Dr. Gupta and his team. Dr. Gupta worked in my cat even though he already had all of his emergency surgeries booked for the day, and even though we weren’t a client of his. I am new to Aboite Animal Clinic. Family member recommended them. I am so happy they did!!! My 2 dogs got excellent treatment. My male dog had been seen an another vet for inflamed eyes. They were treating it like an allergy. Dr. at Aboite says it looks like a bacterial infection. Sparty was given antibiotics and it cleared right up!! The staff are animal lovers and very kind! It started by them being able to squeeze me in for my emergency with my cat. The vet who helped me, Dr. Kruse, was thorough and efficient. When the analysis came back with a less than desirable outcome, she was honest but compassionate. The assistant was also amazing, explaining everything to me about the process and being patient. My 14 yr old kitty is still alive because Dr. Gupta had the courage and the compassion to surgically remove a growth from his mouth. The growth was rare and unusually large and was preventing BC (Black Cat) from eating or drinking. He and his staff are so gentle and kind to each of our 5 pets. Dr. Gupta and Dr. Kruse are both excellent and personable. When getting my dog neutered I had requested for Dr. Gupta to perform a total scrotal ablation due to some spotting on the scrotum. He had never performed the surgery but was open to the idea and was able to successfully do the total scrotal removal with my pups neuter. We requested laser to be used and my pup healed very quickly and didn't seem to notice the surgery had been done. Highly recommended, take all 6 of my pets to them!! Read Less

We recently took our Doberman Pinscher puppy in to not only have her ears cropped, but to also have scar tissue on her side surgically removed. Before taking her in she did not have full range of motion with her right leg due to the location of this horrible puckering scar. Every time she would stretch or scratch it would bleed... so it was basically like a non healing wound. Dr Gupta recommended that I have it surgically taken care of. We are more than thrilled that we listened to him. He and his staff did an amazing job.They put my mind to ease and were so good with Ruby while in their care. She has healed wonderfully both ears and incision. Our Ruby girl now can comfortably stretch, jump, play, scratch, and whatever else puppies do. I have been with Dr. Gupta for 13 years. I know this because I was pregnant with my last baby girl. When she was 2 years old she fell and hurt her ankle. As soon as I went to her, she was yelling, "Mom, hurry we need to go see Dr. Gupta!" I said who, "Dr. Gupta, so he can fix me all better." As I was trying not to laugh, I tried to explain to her that Dr. Gupta is a doctor for our cat and our dog. Being a 2 year old she was confused about which Dr. we go to. That is how much I love taking my pets to Dr. Gupta! Years went by, my daughter understood who Dr. Gupta was and who was her own Dr. I am still and always will be a faithful client to Dr. Gupta. Not only does he really have the love for our pets, he has great compassion for the pet owners, as well. Plus, his team are just as fantastic and caring as he is. Thanks, Dr. Gupta. I have never gone back. Intern Brooke was crazy. She had been stalking me (Holly) since middle school with a boy (Travis S) she knew from my school and she changed my appointment to the day she was working, so she could insult me, call boys (Travis), etc., to make up stories about me, have me run favors for her by insulting my mom, etc. very immature, she tracked me down also from myspace at the time, sent messages to me, all during her shifts from this place. Very unprofessional! I just wanted my cat vaccinated! Never to meet or speak to her. Have fun at Bandidos! Great pictures on facebook with Travis Sliger, thanks for the harassment! Just wanted me to see them again, I didn't care the first hundred times, I don't know why he asked us both out, but kept your pics. up ;) You guys are lame cheaters. I had been boarding my dogs at another location southwest and they always came back traumatized. Drinking gallons of water upon coming home and forgetting they were housebroken. I can tell a real difference in boarding my dogs here. They come home as happy as when they left and I can tell they get a lot of one on one attention there. I am furever thankful for Dr. Gupta and his team. We had an emergency thru the night. 5 of 7 of our cats had a bad reaction to a flea treatment but the emergency animal hospital refused to help me because I didn't have $140/per cat just to walk thru their door. Because of that, one of my babies didn't make it. We were at Aboite animal clinic first thing this morning. Everyone jumped right in and started doing everything they could to help my babies without ever once mentioning a cost or asking how I will afford their treatment. Went there today for nail trims and when I told the vet I couldn't hold one dog still for the nail trim as he wanted and keep the other one corralled he seemed annoyed. Then as we were leaving, he yanked my dog's leash pretty hard, way harder the necessary, when she barked at another dog. I had the dog under control, no need for him to reach over and yank her, especially as hard as he did. She's an older dog and that could have hurt her. The free nail trims is nice to offer, but I'll go somewhere and pay to have it done and not be made to feel like an annoyance and not have my dogs mistreated. Won't be back.Read Less

Dr. Sunil Gupta is a fantastic vet. Him and his staff are wonderful people and very much down to earth. The clinic is very well kept, the staff is surprisingly knowledgeable for techs. I feel like Dr. Gupta may go above and beyond for staff training. I can't say enough good about this clinic or Dr. Gupta. Moreover, if one of my animals needed surgery, Dr Gupta's surgery skills are phenomenal. I use different vets depending on what I need at the time. But I have to say, if it was a life or death emergency Dr. Gupta is who I know and trust to make the very best calls and decisions and to take the best actions suitable to my needs. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Gupta approximately 13 years ago when I called him late one Sunday night because my cat, Tabby, was sick. He wasn't even my vet at the time and yet met me at his office. The result was Tabby had become diabetic and she is still with us today. When my husband and I met we had the "blended" family as he had 3 animals and I had 2. We have trusted Dr. Gupta with every one of our animals. When our dog Smokey got diagnosed with kidney failure he went above and beyond to save him. Unfortunately his kidneys didn't want to cooperate. Dr. Gupta and his staff were more than compassionate. We have been clients of Dr. Sunil Gupta (Aboite Animal Clinic and House Call Practice) for over 20 years. Dr. Gupta is a fabulous veterinarian that always puts the needs of his clients first. Several years ago our first Rottweiler, Zachary contracted a bowel obstruction while I was on a business trip to California. My flight did not arrive back in Fort Wayne until after 8:00pm and upon returning home I called Dr. Gupta and advised of Zach’s deteriorating condition. Dr. Gupta met us at his clinic, which was then on Taylor Street at approximately 9:00 p.m. Dr. Gupta started surgery with our assistance and was finally able to free the bowel and close the incision at 1:00 a.m. (17 hours after his day began.) A high percentage of animals that suffer bowel obstructions do not make it through the surgery. However, with Dr. Gupta’s skills Zach made it through. Zachary so loved ‘his Dr. Gutpa’ that upon his passing he dedicated a photo and plaque in his honor to Dr. Gupta’s new building.Dr. Gupta listens to us regarding our animals, and then completes a thorough examination before he renders his opinion. Any time, day or night, weekend or holiday Dr. Gupta avails himself for the care of our babies. Because, as he says “who knows the animal better than their owners. “ Dr. Gutpa is an extremely well educated and informed veterinarian. At times when one of our animals has contracted something that Dr. Gupta had not had a lot of experience in, he has gladly referred us to a specialist and continued to follow their care. Not only did this ease our minds that someone familiar was with our pets (because he did go with them to the specialist and assisted in the surgery), but it also gave Dr. Gupta an opportunity to further his medical knowledge to help other clients.We, here in North Eastern Indiana are blessed to have such a skilled and compassionate veterinarian for our furry, four legged friends. I had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Aboite Animal Clinic on Covington Road recently for care of my Daschund. Dr. Gupta was referred to me by my neighbor as I am new to the Southwest Fort Wayne area. From the moment I walked in the door I felt as if I was treated exceptionally. The staff was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and made me feel at home. The doctor was patient and listened to all of my concerns about my little, "Petie". The technology was state of the art, and the examination included a digital view of the inside of Petie's ear on a flat screen in the exam room.
