I can't find the right words for my experience for the first time on Monday 7/9/18!We've only been here for a year and this establishment or should I say a gift from God with Dr. Robin Trammel and the staff did a very high risk emergency surgery this Monday...the day we (Myself, Bella-Tina 12 F, Mona-Lisa 10 F, and Bill-Gates 1 & 1/2, M) were headed home to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Bella-Tina seemed off 10pm night before. That 24/7 vet cared more about their outlandish prices for possible surgery, tests, and overnight stay! I have the money and I promise IF MY DOGS NEEDED ANY CARE IF I DID NOT HAVE MONEY I WOULD GET IT! However, they are the numbers throwing at me could but a very nice used car?
Dr. Robin Trammel and welcoming staff not only charged me a FRACTION of what the ER vet had to verify I could afford before I even brought my dog there! She was stable and (short story longer) we are in a hotel to monitor Bella-Tina who Dr. Robin Trammel knew she needed a major emergency procedure and they kept her for 24 hours...NOT ONLY WAS THE FINAL BILL WAY LESS THAN I EXPECTED! The quality of care and explaining test results to me was almost similar to going to your family doctor 25 years ago lol!
My Bella-Tina's life was saved and she's doing amazingly well, and my life was also saved as my Chihuahuas are my family! I need them like they need me!
Fort Wayne I'm actually mad AF, possibly a bit jelly also! Fort Lauderdale it's like go to Pet Smart it's easy? I'm sure they're good ones there!
🐶⏩🐶⏩🐶⏩ That being said... if you reside in this great city that we'll miss ✳💟 Fort Wayne, Indiana or even the entire state of INDIANA I would only take my pet there for anything major if too far, but if your within 30 miles this is the only veterinarian hospital I would go to hands down!
🐒↪ I could write a book for my gratitude as you can see...but my mommy may she RIP was the best dog and cat groomer all my life and I know more than your average person, and I know this surgery is very high risk for me to be schooled that Fort Wayne, IN is not playing when it comes to veterinary care, price, and caring like Allen Veterinary Hospital!
💟⏩ I personally can't thank you enough for your mericalois standard of care, and ANYONE reading my review switch to this place and shout it from the rooftops that this is the only place I would take my pet in Fort Wayne, Indiana!

The youngest vet there has a horrible personality and I wouldn't even see her- period. I just think there are better places to take your pet if you care about their long term health.

I took my adult cat here unfortunately at the last part of her time here on earth. Dr. Trammel and staff was very attentive and allowed me all the time I needed with my girl before saying goodbye. Now a couple weeks later I received a hand written card by Dr. Trammel and her staff sending their condolences and they included my sweet girls paw prints. Nothing but good things to say about this place and it’s staff. When the time comes for a new fur baby I wouldn’t hesitate to bring them here if needed.

I would never take my dogs anywhere else. Dr. James and Dr. Ed are the absolute best! The techs and office staff are very kind and caring. I highly recommend them to everyone. Roxanne and Debbie are the most compassionate people I know. Love this place!

I took my dog there last week only to be told that he has 3 to 6 months to live. Took him to another vet today and she told me that he did not have what they said he had. She also did more tests that Allen Vets didn't even recommend me to do. I spent about 190.00 dollars there only to find out that the meds that they gave my dog were not right for him and the food they had me put on was for kidney failure that my dog does not have. I am really not happy with them and will never take him there again even though it is close to my house. The Vets at the Dupont Animal Hospital are great and I would recommend everyone to take their pets there.

I called every animal vet and hospital today because I have an emergency situation with my rabbit. He is dehydrated and has diarrhea which is extremely dangerous for rabbits, especially young ones like mine. When trying to call them I constantly got a busy signal. Frustrated after having everyone else turn me down, I decided to drive over and see if th...ey could help. I noticed a dog tied to a post out front in the freezing rain. First red flag. I walk in and two receptionists were busy when a 3rd person walked up, stared at me with my box in my hands, and finally asks what she can do for me. I explain I have a rabbit and it's an emergency. She told me none of their vets currently there have experience with rabbits. I, again, state that it is an emergency and she scoffs saying their vet with rabbit experience will be in at 2 and I need to be there before 5:30. No other suggestions, no offer of help, absolutely nothing. Just stands there staring at me while I'm in disbelief that I'm right in their waiting room and they can't have someone at least check his fluids while I'm there (he is extremely dehydrated!). So, finally I mention the dog outside and a man lounging in the chair goes "oh, that's my dog. We're waiting on our appointment." And the lady laughs at me. Laughs. At. Me. For expressing concern that a dog whose spine was showing was tied up to a post outside in the freezing rain. And to top it off, they weren't busy and no one was on the phone so I have no idea why I kept getting a busy signal. What absolute garbage. Finally got ahold of Aboite and they set an appointment up for me today. I recommend never going here in an emergency situation and I will never go here again period. I'll drive 4 hours away if I have to. What a joke. See More

I've always had a positive experience here. But tonight was not. We have a sick dog who fell and hurt himself. All we wanted to do was have him looked at. Well we arrived at 5:20 and were sent away. When we asked to speak to the doctor he said we could stay if we paid an after hours fee because they were busy. Even though they don't close until 6! If your sign says you don't close until 6 you have to see someone! Seriously wrong! And telling me I'd have to pay an extra 'after hours fee' even though I got there at 520! Seriously! But I bet they took the woman after me. Horrible experience!

I have been there a few times in the last 2 months. My boy is getting old and struggling with Doggie Dementia. Dr. Trammel and staff have been so kind. Even tho I have moved to NE Ft. Really $200 for that. Call next day for results which I was told would be ready first thing in the morning called over and over thru day heard after second call we can't find results will call you back when found . 2 hrs later still no call I call back and an told reason I didn't get call back or results back today was because that vet has the day off . I am so mad . I said where are the test results they said they are in but vets off today to tell you results .. so the other 3 vets there can't tell me my results really . This place was a joke . And endangered my pet .

Wonderful office! Everyone is so nice an helpful and reasonably priced! My dog had surgery to remove a large skin tag and they took great care of him and it didn't cost an arm and a leg.

I take ALL my animals there & they are all treated with the same amount of love & compassion, from my own dogs to my community cats, iguanas & beardies. AVH is the one vet clinic where I can breathe easy even if my favorite vet (Dr James) isn't there because I know at AVH pets are family. 10/10 would recommend.

I rescued a 1 year old hamster from FW Animal Care & Control last year that became the joy of my life! She started losing her hair on the top of her head and getting a lump on her side. On January 6th I had to make a horrible decision of putting her to sleep. Dr. James Rademaker was so understanding and explained the procedure to me thoroughly. The staff was so comforting to me! Last week I received a very personal sympathy card from the entire staff with Dr. Rademaker writing me a personal note. Thank you so much for your kind words and for making me feel that Hannah Hamster was the most important animal you cared for that day! I will return with my next furry friend! :)

Christmastime 2015 we took our basset hound, Floyd, in to be checked for lumps we felt on him. Dr. Robin Trammel diagnosed him with lymphoma. Right away she looked into treatment options and found Purdue's Small Animal Hospital had a research treatment program. Instead of 1-2 months his prognosis might be as long a year. Allen Veterinary Hospital worked monthly and in some cases weekly with us and Purdue doing lab work in Fort Wayne before our trips to West Lafayette. Dr. Trammel and the other doctors at Allen were all current with Floyd's condition and were available anytime we called in with questions and concerns. Monday was our final visit to Allen Veterinary with Floyd. We could tell by the tears of all the staff that they genuinely cared for Floyd and us. Thank you to all of them for their loving care.

We brought our Yorkie Zoey in a week ago. The Dr. and staff were so kind to us. They helped us make the right decision to put our little girl to sleep. It was the hardest thing we have ever done. They were compassionate and assured us that we were making the right decision. Then just today out of the blue we get a condolence card signed by the entire staff. That warmed our hearts. It's really nice to know there are still caring people in the world. Thank you Allen Veterinary Hospital. We will definitely be bringing our other pets there for their care. Bottom line is Great place, Great Dr's., and Great Staff. Again thank you very much for the care and the card.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place! I have been nervous about having my two pet rabbits fixed and received responses to my inquiry emails very quickly! Their staff was so helpful with the whole process and Dr. James Rademaker was so kind and helpful! He explained the entire procedure to me beforehand and reassured me that my "children" we're in great hands! He even called me as soon as they woke up from the anesthesia. I highly recommend Allen Vet Hospital and will never go anywhere else!

I recommend this Vet to everyone I know. They are so kind and were with us to the end of my dog Kanes life when he lost battle to lymphoma. Prior to that the level of care was superb and they keep costs manageable for their customers and patients so pet ownership and caring for your pretty is very affordable. Almost 1/3 of anywhere else in town but with service that is second to none with walk-in services and excellent care. We got a sympathy card signed by entire staff and I just can't say enough great things about their practice and all who work there. Thank you for helping us get through one of the hardest parts of our lives.

The youngest vet there has a horrible personality and I wouldn't even see her- period. I just think there are better places to take your pet if you care about their long term health.

The support staff is excellent and you never need an appointment. The Drs give average, supportive care. The 5 stars are for convenience and addressing your concerns either in person or on the phone.

I took my adult cat here unfortunately at the last part of her time here on earth. Dr. Trammel and staff was very attentive and allowed me all the time I needed with my girl before saying goodbye. Now a couple weeks later I received a hand written card by Dr. Trammel and her staff sending their condolences and they included my sweet girls paw prints. Nothing but good things to say about this place and it’s staff. When the time comes for a new fur baby I wouldn’t hesitate to bring them here if needed.

I would never take my dogs anywhere else. Dr. James and Dr. Ed are the absolute best! The techs and office staff are very kind and caring. I highly recommend them to everyone. Roxanne and Debbie are the most compassionate people I know. Love this place!

I took my dog there last week only to be told that he has 3 to 6 months to live. Took him to another vet today and she told me that he did not have what they said he had. She also did more tests that Allen Vets didn't even recommend me to do. I spent about 190.00 dollars there only to find out that the meds that they gave my dog were not right for him and the food they had me put on was for kidney failure that my dog does not have. I am really not happy with them and will never take him there again even though it is close to my house. The Vets at the Dupont Animal Hospital are great and I would recommend everyone to take their pets there.

I called every animal vet and hospital today because I have an emergency situation with my rabbit. He is dehydrated and has diarrhea which is extremely dangerous for rabbits, especially young ones like mine. When trying to call them I constantly got a busy signal. Frustrated after having everyone else turn me down, I decided to drive over and see if th...ey could help. I noticed a dog tied to a post out front in the freezing rain. First red flag. I walk in and two receptionists were busy when a 3rd person walked up, stared at me with my box in my hands, and finally asks what she can do for me. I explain I have a rabbit and it's an emergency. She told me none of their vets currently there have experience with rabbits. I, again, state that it is an emergency and she scoffs saying their vet with rabbit experience will be in at 2 and I need to be there before 5:30. No other suggestions, no offer of help, absolutely nothing. Just stands there staring at me while I'm in disbelief that I'm right in their waiting room and they can't have someone at least check his fluids while I'm there (he is extremely dehydrated!). So, finally I mention the dog outside and a man lounging in the chair goes "oh, that's my dog. We're waiting on our appointment." And the lady laughs at me. Laughs. At. Me. For expressing concern that a dog whose spine was showing was tied up to a post outside in the freezing rain. And to top it off, they weren't busy and no one was on the phone so I have no idea why I kept getting a busy signal. What absolute garbage. Finally got ahold of Aboite and they set an appointment up for me today. I recommend never going here in an emergency situation and I will never go here again period. I'll drive 4 hours away if I have to. What a joke. See More

I've always had a positive experience here. But tonight was not. We have a sick dog who fell and hurt himself. All we wanted to do was have him looked at. Well we arrived at 5:20 and were sent away. When we asked to speak to the doctor he said we could stay if we paid an after hours fee because they were busy. Even though they don't close until 6! If your sign says you don't close until 6 you have to see someone! Seriously wrong! And telling me I'd have to pay an extra 'after hours fee' even though I got there at 520! Seriously! But I bet they took the woman after me. Horrible experience!

I happened upon them a few months after I moved here to Ft. Wayne. I was able to walk in on a Saturday morning, get my boy checked out and I was not charged a fortune. I have been there a few times in the last 2 months. My boy is getting old and struggling with Doggie Dementia. Dr. Trammel and staff have been so kind. Even tho I have moved to NE Ft. Really $200 for that. Call next day for results which I was told would be ready first thing in the morning called over and over thru day heard after second call we can't find results will call you back when found . 2 hrs later still no call I call back and an told reason I didn't get call back or results back today was because that vet has the day off . I am so mad . I said where are the test results they said they are in but vets off today to tell you results .. so the other 3 vets there can't tell me my results really . This place was a joke . And endangered my pet .

Wonderful office! Everyone is so nice an helpful and reasonably priced! My dog had surgery to remove a large skin tag and they took great care of him and it didn't cost an arm and a leg.

AVH is the one vet clinic where I can breathe easy even if my favorite vet (Dr James) isn't there because I know at AVH pets are family. 10/10 would recommend.

I rescued a 1 year old hamster from FW Animal Care & Control last year that became the joy of my life! She started losing her hair on the top of her head and getting a lump on her side. On January 6th I had to make a horrible decision of putting her to sleep. Dr. James Rademaker was so understanding and explained the procedure to me thoroughly. The staff was so comforting to me! Last week I received a very personal sympathy card from the entire staff with Dr. Rademaker writing me a personal note. Thank you so much for your kind words and for making me feel that Hannah Hamster was the most important animal you cared for that day! I will return with my next furry friend! :)

Christmastime 2015 we took our basset hound, Floyd, in to be checked for lumps we felt on him. Dr. Robin Trammel diagnosed him with lymphoma. Right away she looked into treatment options and found Purdue's Small Animal Hospital had a research treatment program. Instead of 1-2 months his prognosis might be as long a year. Allen Veterinary Hospital worked monthly and in some cases weekly with us and Purdue doing lab work in Fort Wayne before our trips to West Lafayette. Dr. Trammel and the other doctors at Allen were all current with Floyd's condition and were available anytime we called in with questions and concerns. Monday was our final visit to Allen Veterinary with Floyd. We could tell by the tears of all the staff that they genuinely cared for Floyd and us. Thank you to all of them for their loving care.

We brought our Yorkie Zoey in a week ago. The Dr. and staff were so kind to us. They helped us make the right decision to put our little girl to sleep. It was the hardest thing we have ever done. They were compassionate and assured us that we were making the right decision. Then just today out of the blue we get a condolence card signed by the entire staff. That warmed our hearts. It's really nice to know there are still caring people in the world. Thank you Allen Veterinary Hospital. We will definitely be bringing our other pets there for their care. Bottom line is Great place, Great Dr's., and Great Staff. Again thank you very much for the care and the card.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place! I have been nervous about having my two pet rabbits fixed and received responses to my inquiry emails very quickly! Their staff was so helpful with the whole process and Dr. James Rademaker was so kind and helpful! He explained the entire procedure to me beforehand and reassured me that my "children" we're in great hands! He even called me as soon as they woke up from the anesthesia. I highly recommend Allen Vet Hospital and will never go anywhere else!

I recommend this Vet to everyone I know. They are so kind and were with us to the end of my dog Kanes life when he lost battle to lymphoma. Prior to that the level of care was superb and they keep costs manageable for their customers and patients so pet ownership and caring for your pretty is very affordable. Almost 1/3 of anywhere else in town but with service that is second to none with walk-in services and excellent care. We got a sympathy card signed by entire staff and I just can't say enough great things about their practice and all who work there. Thank you for helping us get through one of the hardest parts of our lives.
