Every time anyone asks where to take their animals for exceptional care I always say Fort Wayne Pet Hospital! Dr. Martin and Dr. Seth are absolutely amazing! I love this veterinary clinic. We rescued our very first dog a year and a half ago. We nearly always see Dr. Martin and he is always patient, professional, and gives us many options and explanations. The ladies at the front desk are always kind. The entire staff is awesome. They always get me an appointment very quickly, usually the same day. We had an emergency once and they got us seen within minutes. I don't ever feel ripped off or like I received a hard sell. Very reasonable prices. It's a new building and sparkling clean. I have a male who has been having prostate problems since he was a year old. He is a dachshund so he was misdiagnosed THREE times by a different vet office AND the emergency vet. First he had a $600 endoscopy, then it was “his back” (dachshund stereotype) and then the emergency vet told me he was crying and whining in pain because he was “attention seeking” (that was my favorite diagnosis for $250 ). And then came Dr Marcus . First visit he palpated the prostate and my dog cried like he does when he isn’t feeling well. Antibiotics solved the problem and it cost me $50 . The vets and staff here are simply amazing. I've been bringing my pets here for years. Dr. Seth in particular is who we see most often and he always gets right down on the floor with my dogs. His love for animals is so obvious. It's not just a job, it's a passion. But, truly, everyone there is fantastic. Never a bad experience. And prices are very reasonable and fair. Shots may be a bit more than other places but they don't charge an office visit price if shots are given which I have never heard of before. So the difference is made up. We took our pup there when he was 10 weeks old for worms. We got a medication that day...this was back in September. We got a call a couple of days later saying he tested positive for something else and needed to pick up a second medication...this was fine but it was Saturday and I didn't get off of work until after they closed. So, we go in first thing Monday to pick it up. When we explain what was going on the ladies at the front desk had no idea what we were talking about......nothing...and they didn't really try to figure anything out. So, we left and heard nothing back. Luckily the first medication worked well and our pup is happy and healthy. Well, fast forward 4 whole months. We get a call one evening saying we had a medication but the "assumed" our pup wasn't with us anymore since we never got it. Why on earth did they wait 4 months to get back to us? We've been taking our pets here since 2006-2007, they've always been so helpful answering questions about our rescue dogs. Even helped figure out the breeds. They are able to get to know each one of our dogs, and have made great effort with our shy guy. The staff is always nice, and they'll all get to know each of you and your pets. If we ever have to leave our dogs for a weekend this is where they go, the animal keeper, aka dog whisperer, is so amazing with them that our old...est dog actually looks forward to going and hanging out with him. Prices are reasonable, and they even offer a payment plan to help with the more expensive procedures, because we all know pets can cost a lot, but they want to make sure you are able to get your pet in the best shape ever. Took our pet chihuahua complaining of her being lethargic, stumbling, not eating. They did a blood test and saw nothing wrong. Gave her a shot for her upset stomach and sent us home with her. Shit service. The vet was a dick and was blaming me for training my 3 month old puppy for not holding still ... like motherfucker he's a puppy he's getting used to being alive. Plus the nurse was shitty to my dog. The vet needed to check my puppy's ears and he wouldn't hold still and the vet said if he gets an ear infection how am I supposed to do my job if he's not going to hold still, you need to work on him. This Veterinarian Clinic is damn near 100% the best clinic in Fort Wayne the only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because they never ever ever answer the phone. You can literally call for 5 hours straight and they probably won't answer the phone they want you to leave a message and then you get a call back when it's convenient for them. That is the only thing holding them back from being the most perfect veterinary clinic in my opinion. I trust them a hundred percent with my animals they're very friendly at the front desk they know what they're doing and they care it's just the damn phone that they never answer that drives me absolutely nutty! I went for my first visit with my 4mo old Malamute. The waiting room was a bit filled with hair, but didn't smell or anything. They also have beautiful art! When we were taken back, the nurse (or assistant, not sure) was super kind and gave my puppy treats quite often. Both doors were closed so he could roam around. They didn't charge anything extra for shots (exam fee or anything) and were very understanding with my dog being afraid to be restrained. We had the Vet with a last name of Nahrwold and he was super kind and understanding of my pup having fear-based aggression. I was extremely satisfied with the visit and am looking forward to seeing if his remedies will work! All the staff was great and we didn't have to wait long, I even arrived quite early. Read Less

I don't know about you, but my dog is my life. That being said I expect him to get the best care possible. I was so disappointed with the treatment, or lack there of that my fur baby received. When we were finally called back into the room they would not shut the door to the back room so that he could roam free and settle down. He had to be on his leash the whole visit. Not to mention the nurse who was in there did not once acknowledge my dog. I recently moved to Indiana so I brought in all his past records from his other vet so I could show them what vaccines he needed updated. Come to find out he only got a "booster" which only covered his parvo and distemper vacations. When the vet finally came in I didn't even know that's who he was because not once did he introduce himself. And when I asked him to look into something on my dogs bottom lip his response was "I don't see anything, you will have to hold him down and show me." They do have great prices, but they service and treatment is horrible. If you love your animal please don't be cheap and save your money and time. I would definitely recommend this place for people that don't have a ton of money in case their cats or dogs get sick they have payment plans so you can pay monthly they are so nice and kind they are so helpful and they remodeled recently it's very nice inside my cat was sick and I was a wreck and they helped calm me down and they gave me information on what they could do to help my cat get better and then when I left her there for them to take care of her they called me periodically every couple days to let me know how she's doing and what they're doing to help her until she came home I would absolutely come back Read Less

My family has been going to Fort Wayne Pet Hospital with our animals since I was a little girl. They have seen dozens of our animals over the years. A week from today (on 10/12/16), I was dismayed to find that my poor dog, Blue, that I had had since he was 2 months old, had a mass in his mouth that did not respond to medication. I saw Dr. Seth for this nd he was very caring and sympathetic when he told me that it was best for Blue if we didn't let him get any worse (he had lost so much weight by this point). They let me call my mom and brother and spend some more time with my poor hound before we went ahead and let him go to sleep... It still hurts and comes and goes in waves some days, but all of the staff were amazing and attentive. I will be planting a fruit tree over Blue's grave in the spring. Wonderful service and very reasonable prices. Our pup was sick on a Saturday and they allowed us to bring her in at the last minute to be checked out. I am so very, very thankful I did not have to go across town, wait hours to be seen, be charged twice as much just for the visit, not including any treatment (my only other option at that point). My dog needed stitches after getting in a fight with another dog. Her ear was severely torn and bleeding all over the place. We live off of Lima so we went to the closest place, assuming "Pet Hospital" actually meant pet hospital. We went there, got inside, and they said they don't have any doctors in. We said "but this is a pet hospital..?" And the lady at the desk said "No that's just our name, we're not actually a pet hospital." Don't name you're place what you're not. I'm not sure if this vet's office has always operated this way or if it's something new....but, the front office is completely cramped. It is dirty (despite the current renovations in another part of the building not exposed to the waiting room) meaning clumps of hair everywhere, dust all over everything, and it smells awful . You are packed into a hot waiting room with anxiety laden dogs waiting for their appointments. And by waiting...I mean, waiting...like for 45 minutes to an hour past your appointment time scheduled. It is the most pet-unfriendly waiting room I've ever been in. (I realize they are renovating, and the new building will be bigger...but how on earth have they continued to operate like this for so long?) I recently have had a new puppy who is getting all of this shots. I was calling with a concern regarding some stomach issues he has had...and I waited for a return call from the vet as to what to try next for him to provide some relief. Guess what? I never received a call back. They are too busy....they accept every single appointment they get a call about. You are left waiting, feeling like a number. You arrive to your appointment & they act like they aren't sure what you're there for. Your pet is not special or cared for how they should be. The staff is friendly, and the vet's have great bed side care...I will give them that. I understand they are cheap (I've noticed an increase in pricing to pay for this remodel) But the rest? Find a different vet who will care about their facility & your pet! You walk in the front door....and it will tell you all you need to know about how much they care about the job they are doing. I have two dogs that have been seen at the Fort Wayne Pet Hospital. One being a 100lb boxer-great dane mix, with hip displacia the other being a 50lb pit bull, with skin allergies. The staff has always been very caring, and listen to what is going on with my dogs. They are very knowledgable, and were able to help my dogs with their conditions to insure a happy, pain-free, healthy life. I will definatly be returning with all my future pet health care needs.
