Have a 9 year old cat who started urinating outside the litter box. Had Dr. Schenkel see her since she specializes in felines. Dr. Schenkel and her tech did an awesome job of evaluating my cat. A procedure was done to obtain urine; it was quick and my cat seemed fine afterwards. I loved the gentle and compassionate care my cat received here and my cat seemed to do well with the visit. Dr. Schenkle took a lot of time to discuss my cats medical condition and plan of care. She was not rushed and she was very thorough. I am confident and comfortable with her for my cat's care. As a pet parent of a very loved cat, I can't express how important this is to me. This veterinarian is a top notch caring professional. I thought the cost for the services was reasonable also. Dr. Dircksen and his staff were a Godsend for me on 4.14.18. I had taken my girl Sophie to our regular vet on this morning. Her quality of life had become not so good. I stopped at our normal vet to ask for 5 minutes (without the dog) to speak to a vet, only to be turned away. I called Pine Valley, and though they were busy, they got me in promptly after explaining my situation. THANK YOU! It breaks your heart to lose a family pet, but Pine Valley proved on this morning, that their priority was helping families and their animals. We ended up deciding that it was best for her, to have her euthanized, but the compassion the staff showed, the time they gave me to say good bye to her, I WILL NEVER FORGET. Dr. Dircksen spent a gracious amount of time with our problematic husky. He listened, evaluated, and offered a course of treatment that was a mix of what we have done in the past and practical advice that included not doing teeth cleaning that our last vet was encouraging us to do. He spent the time to explain that the process would be a slight benefit for our dogs, but not really worth the stress to them or the cost to us. Out of all the veterinary clinics in town, I couldn't have picked a better one for our pit bull. She was recently in a fight with a raccoon and luckily, she won but had some battle wounds. The staff was very sweet with her and the vet, Dr. Funnell, got down on the floor with her to do the examination. When they had to sedate her to clean the wounds, they let her stay in the room with me instead of taking her away. They brought a gurney in to carry her to the back, but she was struggling to stand up and walk, so the vet lifted her and carried her. so she wouldn't struggle. When she was starting to come out of sedation, they brought a soft blanket in to put on the floor and then brought her back in so she could wake up with someone familiar. They thought of her comfort and feelings the whole time. I've been to similar vets before, but not to the extent Pine Valley went to. The next day, Dr. Funnell called to check on her and answered any other questions I had. Can't say enough nice things about her and the staff. Also, thank you to the 2 reviewers that left reviews on this clinic. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have even considered this clinic because I wouldn't have taken her anywhere that didn't have 5 stars and positive reviews and would have missed out on the best vet clinic around. As I took our cat, Vito to his check up tonight his carrier broke and he darted under a parked truck. He managed to get up inside the underbody of the truck. Two employees came out to Vito's rescue and were able to retrieve him. Thank you SO much!!!! We Pine Valley! Read Less

May 27, 2016 To everyone at PVVC, Words cannot express how grateful we are to Pine Valley Veterinary Clinic. We have been clients for close to 20 years or possibly more time has flown by as we have gotten older. Dr. Graham was our main man until his passing and he is definitely missed. BUT, he created an amazing clinic filled with talented, kind, big hearted, animal loving people and we are proud to call PVVC our Vet. Our Meribelle (Belle) became very ill the beginning of May and being Belle and a bulldog, nothing is ever easy. She was not easily diagnosed, she was not the easiest patient, refusing to eat for 8 days and to compound all all of this; she is my little old lady baby at 11 years old. With that said, we were not ready to let her go, nor was she ready to go and PVVC wasnt giving up either and here we are May 27th and Belle is on the road to recovery, laying in the sun by the pool and eating much more than McDonalds cheeseburgers. Big woofs to Dr. Bruns who never gave up on Belle. She thought not only during work hours but on her weekends off what to try next to get her kidneys functioning better, to increase her appetite and most importantly to make her comfortable. Nothing breaks your heart more than to see someone you love in pain. Thank you! Big woofs to Ann Underwood whose kindness and understanding was ever so needed. I had a good friend who told me that when your fur baby is ready to go, they let you know. When I told Ann this; with tears in my eyes, that Belle hadnt told me yet; she was quick with tears in her eyes to say oh no; Belles not ready yet. That was reassurance we needed to hear at that time. Thank you! And Big woofs to Tiffany Hass who shared her yogurt with Belle and tried anything and everything to entice her to eat. Belle is not the most affectionate until she wants something but I know she looked forward to seeing you every day, trying to coax her to eat whatever it was you had. Thank you! Best in the world. Soma swears by it, and the trip across town is worth it. The personal touch is everything and they deliver, consistently at that. I, my family, and our friends (the four-legged ones, that is,) have been clients for double digit years. I trust them. The staff (by which I mean everyone in the building) is attentive, validating, and reassuring. Soma cat agrees, and I tend to defer to the lady of the house on all such matters, most of all the place where she gets well and stays well. She loves it. They take such good care of my cat. I am an overprotective new "parent" and they are so kind, understanding, & more than willing to answer my plethora of questions. To say my cat is skiddish is the understatement of the century. She hates the vet, but the doctor and staff are all painfully patient with her. Bless their kind, cat-loving souls. I would give them 10 stars, if I could. Every pet that my family has had/have goes there. We moved to Chicago 8 years ago and still drive our Yorkie back to see the doctors at PVVC. He gets regular checkups and has had his teeth cleaned twice. We see all of the doctors and always have a wonderful experience with each of them (along with the nurses!). The front desk is always friendly and helpful. We really like the Petly website that they have- it allows you to add info about your pet or access past visits, vaccines, etc. This is helpful after-hours or emergencies.For our Yorkie's teeth cleaning: Dr. Schenkel explained tooth by tooth and why it was extracted. She really helped me understand everything. They do not do any unnecessary procedures. We highly recommend- it's worth a three hour drive for us!! Read Less
