I cannot say enough positive things about Franklin Animal Clinic! We had switched vets several years ago to them. They discovered our cat had a heart murmur. Dr. Mills has been his doctor and he is one of the most caring and knowledgeable people. He knew what care was needed for an aging cat with a heart condition, including backing off certain vaccinations. He even knew that Cats with heart conditions do poorly with anesthesia, but only exhibit signs days after. They know how anxious he is, and accommodate to make him as comfortable as possible. I took my dog in when a mass developed on his chest. The vet told me it was just a skin condition and did not even touch the area. The only test that was ran was to see if the mass was yeast infection. I asked the vet directly if the mass was life threatening and he said no, it's not life threatening. I left with two prescriptions and a one hundred and sixty dollar bill. Two weeks later after the mass had gotten bigger I took my dog to second vet who ran test and discovered the mass was in fact cancer and that the mass was now to large to do surgery. I love my dog and now he is going to die simply because a vet wanted to get me out of the office, by the way it was an emergency visit. I hope no one has to go through this. Read Less

After taking my cat to the f.a.c.e. clinic and sugar Grove animal clinic and Noah's animal clinic and 24 hr hospital twice I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel with Kit Kats severe allergy issues. I had traveled to Edinburgh from Missouri  for a horse show with my Weimaraner Stella.   She got some type of stomach problem on the trip and couldn't even hold down water.  So on a Saturday morning I started calling trying to find a vet clinic open past noon. I was afraid she could die of dehydration.   Franklin Animal Clinic got me a 3pm appointment.  They took xrays and recommended they keep her overnight to do a barium test for a stomach blockage.  I left her and they called on Sunday morning saying she was better and I could pick her up.  The staff was professional, courteous.  One thing that struck me was photographs on the wall 10 or 20 staff with their assortment of animals,  pigs, dogs, cats,  rabbits.  I left with antibiotics, antinausea pills, anti-diareaha pills,  special food,  and a dog that was back from the dead.  So I am very greatful.  One young lady that worked with Stella was a senior at a local college hoping to get accepted into the Purdue vet school.  I wish her the very best,  same with the vet,  both who were there on a Sunday morning when I picked up Stella. We've been coming here and to their Greenwood location for years and have had no problems at all. The reason I'm giving a 3 star review instead of a 5 star review is because of their price points. I noticed on my most recent invoice that they raised the price of a toe nail clipping to almost $14 since last year. They also raised the price of Trifexis. I understand that they want to make money but animals have 10 toe nails and a toe nail clipping anywhere else costs way less. A toe nail clipping probably shouldn't cost more than $10 plus tax... $14 is excessive. As for raising the price on Trifexis...Well, that's an older product and I'd be surprised if the manufacturer raised the price enough for vets to justify it's price increase to consumers. I have been a patron of Franklin Animal Clinic for almost 20 years. I have recently had 2 of our family dogs become ill in this past year and had to have both put down in less than 3 weeks of one another. Dr. Platicis has helped us over this past year with our beloved Lillie. She has been informational, honest, sincere, and when it came time to put Lillie down she was right there gently guiding us through this very heart wrenching time. I cannot say enough words to say how much I trust and appreciate her!! Dr. Winkhart is newer to us but helped us through a more acute illness with our dog Millie. She too was exceptional and very informative and was there to help support us in the end. tl;dr: Very knowledgeable veterinarians with unparalleled customer service. Several months ago, I brought my dog Roxy in for surgery to remove bladder stones. The surgery seemed like a pretty big operation from my point of view and they did a great job. Recently, Roxy had another issue that we were worried about and decided to take her in. During her appointment, there was a slight miscommunication. I had filled out a follow-up survey and received a call the same day from Kaylee (or maybe Kayla). She had worked everything out and got back to me about the issue with a solution. I have never had that level of customer service and it really makes you feel like they genuinely care about you. Couple that with a great and knowledgeable staff and you have a wonderful veterinarian clinic. 10/10 would recommend. Read Less

Absolutely amazing people from check-in to pick-up. My White Shepherd Rocky needed 2 teeth extracted and Dr. Amy Smith performed an incredible job. Rocky was back to eating the next morning and showed no signs of pain. Rocky and I met Dr. Smith during check-in and Rocky's body language told me he had absolute trust in her. Rocky is 7 yrs old and I've never seen him display this high level of trust in any medical person, especially not with someone he just met for the 1st time. I was referred by a friend. The staff was very nice and got us in right away. We are absolutely please with the knowledge and empathy Doctor Andrew has. My baby boy is 14 years old and I have had him since he was 6 weeks old. He is my baby/my family. Our family is currently trying to make a hard decision and Doctor Andrew was very honest with the situation. All though it's not what we want to hear it is what we needed to hear. I love the Dr's and techs especially Dr Hennessey anDr Jordan  however lately my appointments have been screwed up. Called to make cancel and reschedule appointment  then a few hours later someone called to confirm my cancelled appointment. Apparently the first person forgot to cancel.  So the girl had to reschedule it and then today I get a call to remind me of me new appointment at one office and it should have been another office with a different Dr. Also they don't seem as friendly as they used to. I found Franklin Animal Clinic on Google. I had a 5 week old golden retriever puppy. He was unknowingly born with a multitude of problems which led to a surgery which would've cost thousands of dollars and a slim survival rate. The office was very good at getting me in to see the doctor thru our 2 week in and out ordeal. I had to end up relinquishing my puppy to the clinic due to not having the thousands of dollars for surgery and no guarantee of survival. What bothers me the most is the fact that I was told by my vet that they would call and keep me updated because I was of course and still am very distraught over all the sudden news about my puppy. I called several times over the last few weeks with being told that the vet would call me back. I still have not received a call. I understand that when you relinquish an animal to the clinic that you no longer have rights, but I was told from the beginning that I would be kept updated on his condition. This has been a horrible situation for me because I had grown, in a very short time, extremely attached to my little guy. It really hurts to be lied to. Dr. Hennesy is the best I've ever come across. He helped us tremendously when my dog had pancreatic cancer. I highly recommend him. Their prices are extremely fair and they have emergency hours and an overnight staff for hospitalization. They aren't afraid to take on difficult cases. I had been looking for a new vet when a friend recommended FAC. I am super impressed. I have a difficult dog that doesn't enjoy going to the vet and they have been very helpful in trying to make it easy on both him and me. I have to drive 35 mins to get to them but it's worth it knowing they are going to treat my most difficult dog with love and care. That has earned them the business of all my other easy dogs. I could never do justice to the kindness, professionalism, and all around do-goodedness that my husband and I have experienced at Franklin Animal Clinic. Residing in Indy, we frequent the satellite campus in Greenwood. But a recent turn of events brought us to the Franklin location for an emergency with one of our dogs. Four bloody pus covered paws, and one terrified dog mom entered... A much calmer mom and two bottles of medication exited. The staff checked us in quickly and Dr. Mills was able to find time in his already busy day to check her over and soothe my worried heart. He was an absolute delight to work with and he answered all my questions. On nonemergency visits, we go to the Greenwood location to see Dr. Hennessey. He always spends a lot of time talking to us about our concerns, explaining different heartworm, flea, and tick prevention, he even spent a bunch of time with us trying to guess what breed mixture are dogs might be. From the moment he walks through the exam room door, you know he loves his job and every animal that he treats. Great staff. They really care about the health of your pet(s). We found out that one of our animals may have cancer. They came up with a solid treatment plan and even gave us an estimate on the cost. There are no hidden costs and they really stick to the estimate. Of course if something unexpected comes up, that's a different story. But they're quick to contact you and discuss different options. Dr Mills and his assistant Abby are Absolutely Amazing!! My American Pit Bull Terrier, Ace, tore both his ACLs and has undergone the TTA surgery on his right, and is recovering very well awaiting for surgery on his left. Ace is an 80lb hoss who has Severe Separation Anxiety. The staff was so amazing they kept Ace calm and stayed with him post surgery until I picked him up, everyone on staff went above and beyond way out of their way to cater to my big baby.  Ace is recovering very quickly with zero complications. His right leg is better than 100% post surgery after 7 weeks. All follow up appointments are included in the price of surgery, which is very affordable!! I compared prices, and they are by far the best vet with the best procedures and prices. I drive an hour to to this vet and they are well worth the trip!! I would recommend Dr Mills and all their staff for any K9 needs but especially for ACL surgeries!! Read Less

I had an appointment for routine shots with Dr. Lunsford and waited 1 hour before being put into a room. After another 30 minute wait, Dr. Hennessy came in to say he would try to find Dr. Lunsford and then informed me that she was in surgery! The techs at the clinic did not check the records thoroughly because they had prepared for Dr. Hennessy to give my puppy a""booster"" for kennel cough for my puppy and my puppy had never had the first inhaler (for kennel cough!) Dr. Hennessy did not check the records. A simple record of the receipts would have verified that my puppy had not received the first round. I had to inform the Doctor that that was not right and they should get the right thing--the inhaler. Also, Dr. Lunsford had previously indicated my puppy had an undescended testicle in his abdomen, and Dr. Hennessy indicated he only had one (and I had to tell him it was in his abdomen--he apparently couldn't find it!) The first visit to this clinic I brought in a fecal sample and they threw it away and then told me I could ""pay in advance for the analysis so that I wouldn't have to pay at the next visit!"" I told them I wasn't going to pay for something I didn't receive. They are not thorough with simple, routine things, in my opinion, and although I have been going to this clinic for years (with my previous pet and visiting Dr. Stropes (no complaint with him), I am NOT GOING THERE AGAIN! In my life I have only taken my pets to one other vet and I find that Franklin Animal Clinic is the most wonderful place. I have had cats all my life, but got a puppy for my son- so when she had problems I did not know what to do or if what was happening was normal or not- like any new mommy I called them many many times and they were never anything but wonderful, nice, patient and caring. When my 17 year old cat had to be put to sleep they were so wonderful and sent me a sympathy card afterwards. They are so good with the pets and they answer the endless questions from my very inquisitive 6 year old. my cousin used to drive from out of state to bring her pets here!! I brought my cat there after 2 years with another vet. We were treating my cats eye as a viral or bacterial infection. He had nonstop watering and irritation. After a visit with Amy we learned that a simple surgery could fix this and it was an eyelid problem most likely due to a fight he had. He was an outdoor cat before I adopted him. I take my little dog there too. I work as a reasearch scientist and I am familiar with quality and what goes on. I can say that this is a quality place that I trust my animal's with. 100% All of my family except for one member that lives further away uses the Franklin Animal Clinic. We are all happy with it. Since I was a little girl, my mom always took our animals to Franklin Animal Clinic. Now that I'm an adult, I've taken both cats here. My first cat was Cally and she was very sick and Dr. Oliver recommended that I put her down. The day I took her to do this was very difficult to do but Dr. Oliver sat with me and Cally and comforted me, then he gave us time alone. But other staff came in and checked on us. The carring and compassion they showed was unbelievable. 2 weeks later I came back to pick her ashes up and one of the Dr's there had a baby kitten waiting for me. The whole office had been nursing this kitten since birth and they thought enough of me to give her to me. I will always be Thankful for the staff there and the care and concern they have for the patients and their owners. I read that ladies reply about her puppy dying after surgery and I feel for her but my sister's puppy went through the same thing and the clinic. When animals are so small there is a risk of them dying on the operating table or after surgery. They are little and I'm sure the Dr's there did everything they could to help that puppy. Yeah it looked nice, I had my 1 1/2 yr old dog spayed, I brought her home about 6:00pm and that morning her breathing was weak and she died in my car!I went there with her in my car, and all they could say to my husband was ""Sorry Dude""! She was my heart! I love her with everything I got! I cant believe that they screwed up on such a simple procedure! I will never return there again! I am going Monday morning to get my money back, just because I DID NOT PAY FOR THEM TO DO THIS TO MY BEST FRIEND! I love this place! From the new building, large waiting room, wonderful staff, wonderful doctors, who care deeply about all animal kind, my dog will never go anywhere else! They are so compassionate and caring, they are honest and tell you what you need never have they tried to add on services that are not needed. They truely care about your animal and about you. They take the time to answer all you questions, I have never walked out of there without all my questions answered. They are prompt at getting appointments and especially when you have an emergency. They have a doctor on call every night, so you can depend on getting the care you need 24 hours a day. I know when I need someone to take care of my dog, they are there, they are there for my dog and for me. I have never been let down.
