Friendliest vet with the best prices I've found. They always treat my rats so well and keep my budget in mind. The compassion they show when putting our rats to sleep is something hard to find. We've been taking our pets to Hillview Veterinary Clinic for years. The staff is very caring. Eleven years ago, we had nine (yes, nine) cats. When we took our pets into our home, we made a lifelong commitment to them and have cared for them as they've grown old and passed. We have four of those cats left. The staff at Hillview has, at some point over the years treated each of them. Those that have passed are missed dearly and the wonderful folks at Hillview knew how much they meant to us and sent sympathy cards to us each time. Every employee I have encountered here is so caring, gentle, and patient. They treat your furbabies like family which is so very important to me. We took our 5 year old boxer in this morning for a mass removal. I'm a wreck, Molly was anxious, and the staff were so courteous and really took care in making sure your fur baby is comfortable. They called me right after her procedure to let me know it went well and I am set to pick her up in just a couple hours. I wanted to get her ears cleaned while she was out and I think it would have been a $20 charge, but the tech called me and said when she got in there her ears were really clean so she didn't charge me. Honest people with big hearts! 💕 Highly recommended! Molly is a stretcher so she ended up popping her sutures and needed staples. They took care of her so quickly and she didn't even need sedation! So glad for they made the suggestion of getting children's pants and mattress clips! Only idea yet that has worked to keep it covered! Updated 2/26/18: I've taken off work since Molly's surgery and had been on the floor by her side. Her sutures all popped and her staples didn't hold either. The extent if her most strenuous activity has been stretching on the floor. Doctor said staples will just keep popping and since on antibiotics basically we will ride it out. Just praying we are in a much better boat this time next week. Added updated picture. Updated 3/22/18: The wound scabbed, scab fell off, and fresh skin is beneath. We are finally out of the woods. I took my son's turtle because my dog got a hold of him out of his aquarium and cracked it shell unfortunately the vet saw the turtle was and told us it was not likely to survive in front of my son who is 10. This devastated him for several days. Not only that I stayed up all night working on my business and I had to deal with the turtle issue. Needless to say I was extremely exhausted and had to close my eyes when I had the chance in the waiting room. Well after paying for the treatment of the turtle who was not likely to survive I was meet outside by the Franklin police. I assume they told them I was on drugs. I am a very responsible person who owns my own successful business. I will not be returning to that vet. The people there are not sympathetic whatsoever. The police officer however was very kind and understanding. I comend the Franklin police dept for thier professionalism. I do not recommend using that vet. You will be treated with disrespect. We had the most amazing experience at Hillview Veterinary Clinic today!  We had a baby guinea pig who was born prematurely and, sadly, had to be put to sleep. The staff at Hillview was extraordinarily compassionate and so helpful to our family making the tough decision of helping the little guy on his way over the rainbow bridge. I have never been to an exotic vet before and was expecting an exorbitant bill, but this was not the case with Hillview. I definitely plan on taking my other pets here in the future!! Read Less

Brought our pet mouse in for an infection and they were very very kind and you could tell they absolutely love the work they are doing and the animals that come in. What got me was the candle at the front desk. When lit it meant someone was losing their beloved pet in the back and to please show respect. Once I saw that I knew I would always bring my pets here. I bring all of my pets to them and they always do a great job. They thoroughly explain every process and I never feel rushed. I love Dr. Jennifer Clark, she helped walk me through the process when my cat had cancer and she made me feel like she fully understood what I was going through. The front staff is always very helpful and happy. I like seeing the same faces whenever I go in. This is a great vet and I would recommend them to anyone, with any pet and any income range. First of all Mary is the sweetest receptionist I've ever met. She was so sweet and welcoming she sincerely deserves a raise. The vet tech was very good with my extremely scared cat. There prices are awesome, they have a wonderful deal for new clients only $1 for an exam. The veterinarian himself is also very nice. My cat has to have a few teeth extracted and the price for that was a lot less then I expected. I will be using them for my animals from now on. Read Less

Although I choose this place as my regular vet, they seem a bit... Uneducated? They are great for small animals in my experience and are always friendly and helpful! But the past two times I went there, we have had negative experiences. From them failing to detect an abscess on a pet that was clearly having discomfort in the rear, which we even told them (I discovered the abscess at home that night, it had been open for a while) to not having the appropriate testing supplies to run blood work on another pet. However, they are always quick to fix any mistakes out of their own pocket, even if you take your pet somewhere else. Neither of these situations was bad enough for me to consider a different vet and this is just my personal experiences. I love this place and the good things about them always outweigh any mistakes. Took our dog in because she was not eating or drinking. Wanted a full cheek up. Dr. Harper said it was because she had inflamed gum on one side. Gave her two shots, prescribed two meds and said she would be fine. Our dog died the next morning. TOTAL MISDIAGNOSIS. She wasn't eating or drinking because she was Dying. I have been looking for a vet for both my chihuahua and lionhead bunny. I FINALLY found one that sees bunnies as well as dogs at Hillview! The main thing I look for besides the obvious is that the vet not only knows what they're doing but that they genuinely care about my fur babies as much as I do. They definitely do here at Hillview! I was very pleased about the level of care my lionhead received! My chi has an appointment next month and I have no doubt that she will be cared for in the same manner. This veterinary clinic is awesome! I took my cat here for a urinary tract infection and they helped me out so much! They gave him antibiotics, anti inflammatory and some pain medication and we're not completely done with the antibiotics but he is running around and playing like normal and I can just tell the difference! Not to mention, the prices are not bad at all! Another vet clinic wanted to charge me $30 more to do what they did and that didn't include the medications! So I recommend this clinic for your fur babies! Will definitely be bringing the rest of my babies in for anything else they may need! Read Less

I have had the chronically ill  bunny that doctor Jennifer Clark took care of for the last four years. My bunny had a chronic ear infection since she was only 3 month old and some dental issues on top of that requiring regular testing , ear cleanings, dental procedures and medications . Since she was 2 years old she had developed head tilt and has been constantly taking numerous medications non stop. We have seen every exotic vet in the Indianapolis with little to no results . If I only have found Dr. Jennifer Clarke earlier , my bunny's head tilt could've been prevented. Dr. Clarke is the first one who has gotten the infection under control. She is the only vet I found who I never had to question and double check prescriptions, the only one I fully trust. Dr. Clarke is an angel I found that I can trust with all my heart that truly cares about the animals. I was even able to go on vacation for two weeks for the first time since my bunny had a head tilt and leave her with the knowledgeable staff of Hillveiw Veterinary Clinic. I was able to call to check up on her and she did really well there while I was away. Emily took a great care of my baby and gave her all of the medications required. The only practice that  loves every creature and treats them with love , care and respect whether it is dog, horse or a hamster. Everybody there including the  receptionists and technicians have always been so caring and helpful. They will never make you wait in cases of emergency. Their doctors and technicians always call you back if they are unable to talk to you right away. Truly the best doctor I've seen and like I've mentioned I've been to every rabbit savvy vet and everybody who think they are one in Indianapolis and surrounding areas. Dr. Clarke was all the way with us until my bunny's final seconds. Thanks to her, my bunny almost made it to six despite all the health issues . She has recommended the most beautiful  final resting place for my bunny & her office even made a donation to plant the tree in my bunny's memory . I'm taking my new baby there within a few weeks.  The only vet I will take my pets to. It is well worth the drive to receive the one of a kind care that you can only get there. Read Less

As me and my girlfriend walked into Hillview Veterinary Clinic we was told they do payment plans they have several signs that said we do payment plans but when we went to pay they told us we had to fill it out online before we even arrived. Not only does that not make since i thought the bill was going to be 1/10th of what it was. Then they acted like we couldn't leave even though they had our name cell phone and SS numbers. We got a bill for almost 200 dollars for a basic checkup even with their one dollar examine coupon somehow we still racked up a 200 dollar bill. The doctor talked very fast and kept suggesting things for the dogs then would just follow through and do it. Since my dog was pregnant he suggestion a x-ray saying it would let us know everything we wanted to know. He charged us 100 bucks for the x-ray only to come back and say I cant tell anything by the x-ray. When asked if i could have a copy of the x-ray (to see if he even did one) they told me it would be another charge so we didn't even get to look at the x-ray. I left feeling very ripped off and would have caused a big scene if it wasn't for my girlfriend. This place will take you for whatever they can get. If you don't value your hard earned cash then this would be a great place for you.Read Less

Great vet clinic that helps out all sorts of patients, even the giant 9 foot python Maya they have on display.I recommend this place on two notes:1. Grooming, such as nail care is quick, even if your dog is squirming all over the place. Technicians are also very friendly and approachable, and are ready for action regarding your pets needs.2. Emergency/medical care... Poor Happy Gilmore, my 3 year old dachshund had sprained a back muscle and frankly, I was a hot mess distraught with the possibility of losing my dog. No fear! The staff and Dr. Josh Halper have given us the best of care for almost 14 years. He's gotten Molly through some rough times including poisioning from bad doggie treats from a foreign country sold at our box store! It appears she suffered some liver damage from that but he is supporting her well with supplements. Dr. Halper is currently keeping our dogs arthritis pain under good control with laser treatments. Its amazing, he's amazing! His practice includes the Hospital Clinic, a Doggie Daycare (grooming also available) and a Bed & Biscuit Boarding. Dr. Halper and his staff are very compassionate.
